Claire Sinclair didn't particularly like Ethan Kingsley, but she didn't hate him either. In any case, she didn't want to pass judgment, so she steered the conversation back. "I don't want to get involved in men's business. Let's talk about you again."
"I don't need your help anymore. Please leave. Thank you for making a special trip to see me." Ivy Tanner politely showed her the door.
Claire Sinclair frowned. "Are you messing with me?"
"Maybe." Ivy Tanner lowered her head and curled up even more, as if trying to shut herself away completely.
Claire Sinclair knew this state all too well. She had once shut herself off just like this. Back then, she had no one to help her; she had to stumble through it all on her own.
Seeing someone so similar to her past self made her heart ache.
"You get some rest. I'll go ask the doctor when you can be discharged." With that, Claire Sinclair stood up to leave.
Ivy Tanner called out to her, "What are you going to do?"
