Mrs. Quincy's cold gaze swept over Claire Sinclair's face. "Claire Sinclair," she said, her expression blank, "let's find a place to sit and talk. Adrian won't let me into Evergreen Garden, so you can pick the place."
Claire Sinclair countered, "What do you want to talk about, Mrs. Quincy?"
Mrs. Quincy replied, "About you and Adrian, of course."
"Fine, I'll talk." 'This was something she'd have to face sooner or later. Claire had no intention of avoiding it; better to resolve it now and save herself the trouble down the road.'
The two relocated to a nearby coffee shop. Mrs. Quincy had the entire place cleared out before sitting down to talk with Claire.
Before speaking, Mrs. Quincy took a black leather folder out of her bag and placed it in front of Claire.
"Take a look."
'What is this?'
Curious, Claire opened the folder. Inside was a document titled "Joint Petition."
