Ayla Ryan, the assistant behind Lucas Rhodes, spoke up. "Sir, shall we head back?"
"It's rare that we get out. Let's go for a walk."
Ayla Ryan nodded and silently pushed his wheelchair out.
On their way, they passed down a long corridor lined with clothing stores on both sides.
Outside a children's clothing store, a girl stood before the display window. Her hands rested on the glass, her dazed eyes fixed on a matching parent-child outfit inside.
Ivy Tanner just stood there blankly as her eyes gradually misted over. Her hand unconsciously came to rest on her lower abdomen.
'Of all people, it had to be his child... In this lifetime, I'll probably never get to experience the warmth of a family, will I?'
'This child is the last straw I'm clinging to in life. After giving birth, it'll be about time for me to go.'
'This time, I've made up my mind. I won't hesitate anymore.'
