Ethan Kingsley's cold gaze narrowed, and he didn't answer right away.
Corinne Linden pressed on. "You can't just keep her around forever. At the very least, I don't want you to."
Ethan Kingsley slowly turned to look down at her face, his expression unreadable. "I've told you before," he said flatly. "Stay away from her."
Corinne Linden flared up, standing to meet his gaze. "No woman would tolerate her fiancé keeping another woman on the side—even if she's a fool! And yet you gave your best house to her!"
"The best house?" Ethan Kingsley sneered. "It seems I overestimated your taste, Eldest Miss Linden."
"The one I liked at first sight is the one I consider the best. What will people think when you give a house that huge to her?"
"I don't care what other people think. If you want, I can buy you an island, build you a castle. But that house will never be yours. It's what I owe her."
Corinne Linden's lips parted, but for a moment, she was utterly speechless.
