"But..." Bonnie Yates was clearly worried, unable to hide the concern in her eyes. "Editor Hartwell's phone is off, he isn't answering his messages, and he hasn't updated his social media. There's just no way to reach him. Aren't you worried?"
Claire Sinclair smiled. "What's the point in worrying about him? Teacher Hartwell is a legend at our newspaper. You don't need to worry. Besides, why are you so worried about him?"
Bonnie Yates flushed, avoiding Claire's eyes. "Editor Hartwell is our supervisor," she said, flustered. "And he's helped me so much. I just can't wrap my head around it."
Claire Sinclair had long seen what was on the young woman's mind, but she didn't call her out on it. She just smiled. "Don't overthink it. Teacher Hartwell is one of a kind. Let's just focus on our work and wait for him to return. Now, get back to it."
