With a nod, Arlott completed his transaction and turned to leave the guild. The murmurs and gazes followed him as he walked out, his attendants falling into step behind him.
A sleek, black luxury car awaited Arlott outside, its gleaming paintwork reflecting the city's lights. The attendants, Eira and Thrain, stood at attention beside the open rear door, their heads bowed in respect.
As Arlott approached, they bowed deeper, their eyes cast downward.
Arlott nodded and slid into the luxurious interior. The attendants closed the door behind him, and one of them hurried to take the driver's seat.
Just as the car began to move, Arlott's phone rang, shrill in the silence. He answered, his expression unreadable.
As Arlott answered the phone, his expression was calm, but upon hearing the news, his eyes widened in surprise.
"Aria's in labor?" he repeated, his voice tinged with confusion. "But it's only been six months..."
The person on the other end of the line spoke quickly, their words laced with urgency.
Arlott's calm demeanor returned as he spoke into the phone. "I see.
After a brief moment, he nodded to himself, his expression smoothing out once more. With a subtle gesture, he indicated to his driver to move, providing the location of the hospital. "Let's go."
As the car began to move, Arlott gazed out the window, noticing the moon hanging low in the sky, its silvery light casting an ethereal glow over the city. For some reason, the moon was at its peak tonight, full and bright.
"It's beautiful, this is a rare sight", He said drowned in his solitude .
...
As Arlott entered the ward, his eyes scanned the room, locking onto the woman on the bed. For a moment, he seemed taken aback, his gaze lingering on the exhausted yet radiant face of the woman.
The woman's long, black hair was disheveled, and her green eyes, though tired, sparkled with a hint of warmth as she gazed at the tiny bundle in her arms.
The nurses bustled around the woman, checking the baby's vital signs and attending to her needs. Arlott's presence seemed to go unnoticed, or perhaps they were simply accustomed to the arrival of dignified visitors.
The woman's gaze drifted toward Arlott, and a soft smile played on her lips. "Ah, Arlott," she whispered, her voice weak. "You're here."
Arlott's expression remained guarded, his eyes locked onto the woman as he approached the bedside. "Aria?" he asked softly, his voice tinged with confusion. "Where's....
His eyes widened in confusion
"Huh" ?
He then looked at her and saw not one but two different babies,
One has a dark raven hair and green eyes while the other kid was odd, the kid felt ... strange, quite strange
"Sir, we will be assessing their Magical power and gifts, should we proceed "
"Yes do so, Arlott said, a bit stumbled as he awakened himself from his thoughts"
Assessment was a common thing here in this world, literally, what it means by assessing the abilities and magical power of a baby when they are done determines how far they will go in life, the assessment is done with a strange magical item, it measures the magic power and speciality of things and grades it based on the results of the assessment.
Due to the power system of the world is basically adventurer rankings which starts from
F rank, E rank, D rank, C rank, B rank, A rank, AA rank, S, rank, and SS rank .
These rankings are used every time when grading a Child's Talent, Artifacts, Magic items, Magic weapons and other stuff .
More minutes passes as they gathered all the babies around and started assessing then.
The first child was brought by his parents.
As the child was brought the nurse with her face mask on started the process.
The child was put into a mini incubator, and then a magical glow bathed the incubator, this was immediately followed by a translucent screen appearing on the Incubator and strange codes began to run.
This screen became wider and wider eventually becoming larger than the incubator itself becoming visible to everyone around including the bystanders.
As the Machine continues to assess the child, his parents became anxious, but in a few seconds, the assessment was completed.
Showing a glowing green screen in front of everyone the screen read,
