Chapter 543 - [543] Tactical Analysis

"They specifically targeted the area around Harry Potter's abdomen during close combat," one student from the Kunlun delegation stated with analytical confidence. "He instinctively guarded that region consistently. That placement almost certainly indicates his designated weak point location."

Another practitioner added supporting intelligence, "And the Ravenclaw prefect, Penelope Clearwater—she repeatedly protected her left arm even when it compromised her fighting efficiency. That's definitely her critical vulnerability zone."

Sunny nodded with obvious satisfaction at the quality of their battlefield intelligence gathering.

"Excellent observational work. Two confirmed target locations provide more than sufficient tactical advantage to guarantee their elimination during our next inevitable encounter."

"Continue your equipment acquisition," she ordered firmly. "Then we advance deeper according to plan."

As the assembled group dispersed to execute their scavenging assignments, Sunny smiled to herself with quiet satisfaction.

Charlotte will surely deduce my underlying strategy, she thought with certainty. We're genuine rivals who understand each other's tactical cunning intimately.

Meanwhile, Charlotte remained deep in contemplative thought as she led her own group systematically through the forest's exterior regions.

Why did Sunny Finch specifically ambush us at that location? The question nagged persistently. It wasn't merely to even the strategic score or drain our limited supplies. This feels like deliberate misdirection—setting up something larger.

"Look over here!" Harry Potter suddenly shouted, spotting an ordinary-looking wooden crate partially concealed by undergrowth. "Is this location marked on our map?"

Charlotte immediately consulted their enchanted map with practiced efficiency. "Negative—it's not indicated. Let's open it carefully."

Cedric hesitated with obvious caution. "Could potentially be a trap or planted hazard."

"Highly doubtful," Charlotte replied with reasonable certainty. "The Head Prefect wouldn't add unnecessarily complicated hazards beyond the competition's stated parameters. This challenge tests logistics management and strategic thinking, not survival against arbitrary dangers."

Harry carefully pried the wooden lid open with his wand. Inside were neatly packed rations and sealed water bottles—basic but crucial supplies.

"Provisions!" Harry exclaimed with genuine relief. "Enough quality food and water to sustain us for several days at minimum."

As the group began efficiently dividing the unexpected windfall of supplies, Cedric playfully tossed a wrapped loaf toward Penelope with a grin.

"Catch!"

Penelope yelped in alarm, dodging instinctively rather than catching. "Careful with throwing things! If that accidentally strikes my uniform's designated weak point location, I'm immediately eliminated from the competition!"

Cedric laughed at her excessive reaction. "Erwin wouldn't design the challenge mechanics to make elimination that trivially easy."

But Charlotte suddenly froze completely, her tactical mind making a crucial connection.

Weak point.

The realization hit her with the force of a stunning spell.

Sunny Finch's strategy wasn't primarily about direct physical attacks—it was about systematically exploiting the mandatory weak points marked on everyone's uniforms.

Penelope's instinctive protective reaction toward her left arm had just inadvertently confirmed the vulnerability location.

But if every team now knew approximately where their opponents' weak points were located, how could Sunny Finch effectively leverage that intelligence to her actual advantage?

Unless...

Charlotte's eyes narrowed dangerously as the full implications crystallized. She needs a plan to turn this shared knowledge against its holders.

And she was already formulating exactly how to counter whatever trap Sunny was constructing.

In Hogwarts' Great Hall, the assembled spectators watched the survival challenge unfold with rapt attention on the magically enchanted ceiling displaying live footage.

Most competing groups had successfully located basic supplies by this point. The competition's initial critical hurdle had been cleared without major incident.

Erwin observed the proceedings with detached amusement, already anticipating future developments.

The real chaos won't properly begin until tomorrow, he thought with dark satisfaction, when the Cavendish forces deploy in full strength.

"I'll be in my private office," he informed those nearby casually. "The preliminary phase is essentially concluded. Summon me when the actual substantive game begins in earnest."

Erwin Apparated smoothly to Diagon Alley without further ceremony.

Cavendish Tower was positively buzzing with controlled activity. The pure-blood alliance delegation had successfully returned from their extended foreign trade mission.

In Erwin's spacious office, Lucius Malfoy and Old Tom waited with barely concealed eagerness. Lucius practically radiated smug success.

"Report the mission results," Erwin commanded smoothly, settling into his high-backed chair.

"Master," Lucius began, unable to completely hide his satisfied grin, "the operation exceeded all projected success parameters. The participating pure-blood families secured an absolute fortune in liquid Galleons. More significantly..."

He paused deliberately for dramatic effect.

"...we successfully extracted and brought back two hundred dark wizards. All are confirmed Ministry fugitives with outstanding warrants. Per your specific standing orders, they've been transported directly to Azkaban's secured facilities. They're now yours to command whenever you require a ready combat force."
