The King's Seal.
A sacred treasure passed down through generations of the Kazama Clan—the supreme royal bloodline that stands above even the Four Great Noble Houses of Soul Society. It is the very symbol of kingship, akin to the Imperial Seal of an ancient Eastern empire.
Throughout Bleach, the King's Seal has appeared only once—featured in the movie The DiamondDust Rebellion: Another Hyōrinmaru. Yet its power far exceeds imagination. At its most basic level, it grants the ability to traverse space, erect barriers that isolate all external interference, and dominate the minds of those it subjugates.
Ordinarily, only descendants of the royal family can wield the Seal. However, others may forcibly cleave it with a Zanpakutō, temporarily releasing its sealed power for their own use.
Kazama Yoshio—operating under the alias Fujiwara Tatsuma—is the foremost of the Kazama Clan's "Four Wings," the direct royal lineage entrusted with guarding the Seal as invisible sentinels across generations.
At the same time, the Four Wings serve as the most elite operatives under Kazama Momonosuke, tasked with eliminating enemy leaders.
The current Four Wings are as follows:
Kazama Yoshio – Wielder of one of the Four Royal Blades, Tonbokiri. Its attributes shift according to the user's spiritual pressure, earning it the alternate name Yukihime.
Nishikidomon – Wielder of Kikuichimonji, a blade symbolizing the honor of the royal family, much like the imperial execution sword of the Eastern capital.
Raizō – Wielder of Raidōmaru. So long as he believes in light, he can transform his spiritual pressure into pure lightning.
Kanshirō – Wielder of Tengu. Born of the werewolf clan, he transforms into a colossal tengu warrior upon release, cutting down all who dare betray the royal family.
Kazama Yoshio's decision to disguise himself as Fujiwara Tatsuma and enroll in the Shin'ō Academy was driven by a single purpose: to track down the remnants of the Fūma clan—specifically, Fūma Kamano, who vanished into the Rukongai over fifty years ago.
Over those decades, Yoshio searched all 320 districts of Rukongai—east, south, west, and north.
To no avail.
Eventually, his attention turned toward Seireitei. Thus, under his assumed identity, he took the academy's entrance exam and became a classmate of Fūjin Taichi.
Yoshio had long suspected that the Fūma remnants had infiltrated the ranks of the Gotei 13 during those fifty years.
To avoid suspicion, he planned to approach them slowly as a first-year student.
But on the day of the entrance exam, he unexpectedly ran into someone familiar—Fūjin Taichi.
Though Taichi's appearance had changed, years of intelligence work told him one thing:
This man was suspicious.
Using the excuse of gifting him a red sword-belt, Yoshio began to approach Taichi. He even revealed his Zanpakutō, Yukihime, to deepen their connection.
Three months passed.
On the night Taichi was knocked unconscious and hospitalized, Yoshio risked exposure and infiltrated the hospital. Using the King's Seal, he invaded Taichi's Jinzen space to uncover his true identity.
But what he found was beyond expectation.
The crimson-clad blade spirit named Yone possessed terrifying strength—enough to resist the King's Seal's intrusion.
Left with no choice, Yoshio retreated in disgrace.
Yet before leaving, he planted something within that inner world—
The Ember of a Sinner, summoned from another dimension by the King's Seal, disguised as a Hollow seed to erode Taichi's consciousness from within.
To protect his master, Yone was forced to split off at least half his power to suppress that mysterious and overwhelming force.
Another three months passed.
Taichi gained "half the power of a Shinigami" from Yone—the flame blade: Kyūjūkyū—and achieved Shikai.
But unwilling to let his plan be thwarted, Yoshio provoked Taichi into battle under the pretense of a "challenge," aiming to exhaust him and allow the "Sinner's Ember" to break free.
And now—
With his true identity exposed, the man once known as Fujiwara Tatsuma could no longer restrain his overwhelming killing intent.
He raised his Zanpakutō, Yukihime, horizontally before his chest, gripping the tip with his left hand.
In the next instant, his spiritual pressure surged explosively. Rings of blue energy rippled outward in violent waves.
"Bankai: Tonbo Hōi - Hachiman Dai-bosatsu! (Dragonfly Treasure Garment: Great Bodhisattva Hachiman!)"
BOOM!
Over his black Shihakushō formed a layer of blue-and-white striped armor. From his back extended two pairs of wings, and atop his head rested a dragonfly crown.
At a glance, he resembled a celestial war deity—
Or perhaps something far more monstrous.
"Fujiwara! You bastard… you're really using Bankai just to kill me?!"
Even as shock rippled through him, Fūjin Taichi felt a deeper chill settle in his chest.
Right now, he possessed less than half of a Shinigami's power. Even holding his own against Kazama Yoshio's Shikai had already pushed him to the brink—
And yet this bastard had no sense of fairness whatsoever.
He went straight to Bankai.
…Damn it.
This just turned into a nightmare.
Under the biting cold, Taichi's spiritual pressure was draining at an alarming rate. He could barely withstand even a single heavy strike from his opponent now.
But—
If he released all of his power, the sealed "Sinner's power" would seize the opportunity to break free, devouring his mind and body from within.
Damn it…
Is this really the end?
Taichi locked his gaze onto Yoshio.
Meanwhile, Yoshio—now in Bankai—lowered his blade and drove it straight into the ground. His voice rang out like a thunderclap:
"Tonbokiri, First Form: Sekkū Kandō-kei! (Snow-Bound Blade Execution!)"
"What—what is that?!"
Whoosh! Whoosh!
Whoosh! Whoosh!
In the blink of an eye, the earth beneath Taichi's feet exploded apart. Hundreds—no, thousands—of icy blades burst from the ground, shooting upward to skewer him where he stood.
"—!"
Without hesitation, Taichi activated Shunpo and shot into the air.
But the instant he moved—
A sharp tearing sound split the wind beside his ear.
What followed was a razor-sharp, flowing dagger hurtling toward him like a streak of liquid light.
"Tonbokiri, Second Form: Myōren Hifū-tō! (Miraculous Lotus Flying Dagger!)"
"So fast—!"
It was lightning-fast.
Suspended midair, Taichi had no room to dodge. Gritting his teeth, he twisted his body at the last second and forced himself to take the hit with his left shoulder.
Pshhk!
Blood burst forth like a ruptured spring, scattering across the countless ice blades below—only to freeze solid in the frigid air moments later.
"Damn it…!"
Clenching against the searing pain tearing through his shoulder, Taichi used the last of his strength to steady himself in midair, barely preventing his unstable spiritual pressure from collapsing completely.
"…Impressive."
A faint smile tugged at Yoshio's lips, his tone cold and indifferent.
"I've pushed you this far, and you still refuse to release your full power. Do you really want to die that badly?"
"Fujiwara! I'd rather die fighting than fall into a Hollow like you want!"
Taichi's left shoulder had been pierced clean through, leaving a gruesome, blood-soaked hole that continued to pour out crimson.
His left arm hung limp at his side, blood trailing down his fingertips in slow, steady drops.
With his other hand, he raised his Zanpakutō—Kyūjūkyū—and took a firm offensive stance, gritting his teeth as he roared:
"I am a son of the Fūma Clan! We never bowed to your tyrannical, insane king—and neither will I!! So if you want a fight… then come!"
"Keheheh… Very well."
Yoshio let out a low, chilling laugh.
"If that's your dying wish, I'll grant it."
He lifted his Zanpakutō, Yukihime, once more—its tip aimed squarely at Taichi in the distance.
Then, in a voice heavy with killing intent, he uttered:
"Tonbokiri, Third Form: Kongō Sōsō!! (Vajra Funeral!!)"
