THURSDAY MORNING - THIRTEEN DAYS AFTER TRANSFORMATION 6:00 AM
Eve stood in the center of the training room....a large, empty space in the estate's basement that the brothers had cleared out specifically for her power development.
Elder Markov faced her, looking stern and determined. Damian, Damon, and Silas watched from the sidelines, ready to intervene if necessary.
"First lesson," Markov said. "Desire projection. You've learned to read emotions. Now you need to learn to create them. To make others feel what you want them to feel."
"That sounds like manipulation," Eve said uneasily.
"It is," Markov confirmed bluntly. "And that makes you uncomfortable. Good. It should. But uncomfortable or not, it's a skill you need. Your enemies won't hesitate to use every tool at their disposal. Neither can you."
He gestured to a chair where Mrs. Blackwood sat....she'd volunteered to be the test subject, understanding the importance of Eve's training.
