In late December, the sky was overcast and the cold was biting. Moscow was adorned with a layer of white snow, shimmering under the city's dim lights. Everyone had their own way of enjoying such weather—some preferred wandering through the streets and savoring the quiet, while others found in it an opportunity to pursue their activities in peaceful isolation.
Alina Rozlyakova was one of the latter. She chose to drive for long hours through Moscow's empty streets, enjoying the city's silence and the reflection of lights on the snow. She believed that this drive would distract her mind from the many complications in her life, but she had no idea that this night would turn into a real nightmare.
Within minutes, Alina found herself running through a dense, snow-covered forest, struggling to survive. A wound in her lower abdomen was bleeding, and her strength was fading. Her slender body, barely able to endure the burdens of life, finally began to give up. She moved with difficulty through the piled snow until she collapsed onto the ground, clutching the cold whiteness beneath her.
At that moment, as she neared the loss of consciousness, she heard movement approaching. A tall figure stood before her, brushed her hair away from her face, and checked her faint pulse. He lifted her into his arms and made his way back in the direction he had come from, leaving the forest behind them.
Even as she lay in his arms, Alina felt the cold and the fear, realizing that she was about to face something far more mysterious and dangerous than she had imagined.
