Chapter 58 - The Ultimate Portable Tent

The silver bell chimed softly as Keyzier pushed open the grand glass doors of "Verna Gold Property". The scent of expensive aromatherapy and an interior draped in velvet immediately greeted them. In stark contrast to the iron-scented weapon shop, this place radiated an aura of high-end bureaucracy and luxury.

A well-dressed, middle-aged man with glasses perched on the bridge of his nose stood up from behind a marble desk.

"Good afternoon, and welcome to Verna Gold Property. How may I assist you, ladies and gentlemen?" he greeted them with a practiced, professional smile.

Keyzier stepped forward. "We're looking for a house. Medium-sized, enough to accommodate four to six people. It must have a fireplace, a comfortable dining room, and a spacious bathroom inside. Oh, and it has to come fully furnished!"

The agent nodded briskly, his hands nimbly flipping through a large catalog. "Ah, a very specific request. We happen to have two locations that just entered our listings today. Come, I shall escort you to see them immediately."

They headed to the first location, situated not far from the office. Upon arrival, Donovan and Evaliza could only stand in silence, awestruck by the building's grandeur. The walls were crafted from high-quality white stone supported by sturdy pillars.

Inside, the house was truly lavish. The dining room was large enough for a small banquet, boasting six bedrooms and two bathrooms nearly as large as luxury inn rooms. The furniture was exquisite and complete.

"Incredible! But let's see the other one so we can decide which one to buy." Keyzier suggested after they finished looking around.

The second house was located a bit further into the district. This time, the building had two floors with a land area slightly smaller than the first. However, the moment they stepped inside, the atmosphere felt much warmer and more functional.

The first floor contained a parlor, a cozy family room, a modern kitchen, and a spacious bathroom. The second floor housed six bedrooms, a lounge area facing large windows and doors that led to a balcony, and most importantly, a dedicated area for drying laundry.

"I like this one!" Novalia remarked as she touched the curtains on the second floor. "It has a place to relax and a spot for laundry. Very practical."

Donovan and Evaliza agreed. Though smaller than the first house, the interior layout was far more efficient for their needs as adventurers.

"What's the price for this place?" Keyzier asked the agent.

The agent cleared his throat. "Considering its location in an exclusive district and the quality of the furnishings, the price is 79,453,500Lyra, including purchase tax and land title."

Party Noiver immediately huddled in a circle to deliberate. It was a staggering amount, even for those who had just plundered a bandit's hoard. Keyzier then stepped back toward the agent with a peculiar smirk.

"How about 49,000,000Lyra? We're offering that much because we only need the house itself and we don't need the land." Keyzier said casually.

The agent froze, his eyes blinking in confusion as if he had just heard an ancient, forgotten language. "Are... are you joking, Sir? Do you mean you intend to rent the land instead?"

"We aren't renting the land!" Keyzier interjected. "We just need the house and its contents so we don't get soaked when it rains or scorched when it's hot."

The statement sounded utterly ridiculous to the agent. Are they insane? How could anyone buy a house without the land it sat upon?

However, as a professional chasing a massive commission, he racked his brain to keep the deal alive.

"Let's do this, Sir!" the agent offered a middle ground. "If you truly only want the building and all the furniture inside without the land, our company can give you a price of 59,524,500Lyra."

Keyzier snapped his fingers. "Deal! We'll pay in cash right now. And since I don't like going back and forth, can I take the house with me now?"

The agent let out a small laugh, assuming it was just adventurer humor. "Of course, Sir, if you are capable of lifting it."

Keyzier didn't return the laughter. He stepped out into the front yard, turned his back to the street to face the two-story building, and stretched out his hands.

"Inventory!"

In the blink of an eye, a wave of spatial distortion enveloped the building. A low rumbling sound echoed, and suddenly...

Zip!

The massive house vanished instantly, leaving behind a barren, empty plot of land with a clean foundation footprint.

The property agent dropped his clipboard. His mouth hung wide open, his face as pale as a ghost in broad daylight. A few passersby in the noble district stopped dead in their tracks, their eyes nearly popping out of their heads as they watched a luxury mansion disappear into thin air.

Ignoring the commotion, Keyzier turned to the agent. "Let's go back to your office. I need to settle the payment and collect the papers."

Back at the office, the atmosphere remained awkward as the agent's hands still trembled slightly while counting the stacks of cash Keyzier produced. Once the tally was finished, the agent began preparing the legal documents.

"Actually, we'd like to put the name 'Party Noiver' on this certificate." Donovan said while looking at the draft.

The agent shook his head slowly, wiping sweat from his brow. "I apologize, Sir, but the laws of the Fellims Kingdom forbid registering non-official groups or organizations on private property titles. There must be one legal representative."

After a brief discussion, or rather, everyone instantly pointing at him. It was decided that Keyzier would be the owner.

They always do this... making me responsible for everything related to the party, Keyzier thought with a long, weary sigh.

Shortly after, the official deed, stamped with the royal magic seal, was issued. Keyzier accepted the precious parchment with satisfaction. "Thank you for the transaction."

"It was my duty, Sir!" the agent replied, still looking dazed.

They walked out of the office into the afternoon air.

"Well, logistics are handled. Now we have a house we can take anywhere!" Keyzier announced with relief, glad his checklist was finally complete.

He looked at his companions with overflowing excitement. "Liza has a new weapon, and we have the ultimate portable 'tent'. Now, let's head to the Adventurer's Guild! It's time to get to work and see what missions are available in this city."

With a light step, Party Noiver left the noble district and marched toward the guild.
