I tried to be a hero.
I tried to push my coworkers out of the way.
But sadly...
*Thump.*
The reality was cruel. My weak, malnourished body couldn't move them even an inch.
"Ah."
And, I realized it then. 
I really, really wasn't a protagonist.
Then, darkness swallowed me whole.

After death, I expected hell. 
Or perhaps a permanent void of non-existence.
Instead, I woke up in a room fit for a royal, breathing air as if after decades of suffering, my useless lungs were finally healed.
"Where... am I?"
I looked into the obsidian mirror standing in the corner. The face staring back wasn't mine.
Pale skin. Crimson eyes. Hair like a waterfall of ashy snow.
Sethius Von Nevermore.
A Prince. A prodigy. A monster.
And... a man soon to be declared dead.
My heart sank. I knew this world. I knew this story. 
In the novel I used to read, Sethius was a plot device destined to die just to give the story a reason to truly start.

"Heh."
A dry chuckle escaped my lips.
Destined to die again? Crushed under rocks this time instead of steel beams?
However, sadly for this world...
"I refuse."
Even though I wouldn't stop the war. 
Even though I wouldn't save the world.
I will simply cut anything that stands in my way.
Because it seems this body really, really likes to cut things.
And pancakes.

We can't forget about the pancakes.
