Chapter 1 - Chapter 1: Adoptive Sister and Childhood Friend

The Underworld.

In a training ground within the Lucifuge Clan castle.

"Haa..."

Kaiser, having just concluded several hours of intense training, felt his demonic power completely depleted.

He exhaled a long breath and sat down on the ground, wiping the sweat from his brow with a towel. His gaze drifted wistfully toward the sky, as clear and serene as a tranquil lake.

He was a transmigrator—this was already his second life.

Only a few days ago had he begun to piece together the memories from his infancy.

In this life, he wasn't fully human; he was a half-blood, born of human and devil heritage.

Yet, as an infant, he had been found on a battlefield and adopted by the Lucifuge Clan, becoming the younger brother to Grayfia.

"Not too bad, all things considered."

Kaiser murmured with a faint sigh.

Having Grayfia as his backing, along with the vast resources of the Lucifuge Clan nurturing him, his strength had recently advanced to the level of a High-Class Devil.

For someone his age, that was exceptionally impressive.

Still...

"This world is utterly ridiculous."

Recalling the intelligence he had gathered, Kaiser's eyelid twitched involuntarily.

This was a world where multiple anime universes from his previous life had fused together.

Just looking at a map of the human world revealed familiar names scattered across it: Kuoh Town, Fuyuki City, Chiba City... Beneath the veneer of peaceful daily life lurked countless anomalies.

Devils, angels, fallen angels, sorcerers, exorcists, yokai—none of these were secrets to a devil like him.

He had even come across records of anti-demon ninjas and rebellious gods.

It nearly made Kaiser lose his composure.

This world had an insatiable appetite, fusing anything and everything without restraint.

"You're here after all."

A gentle voice sounded beside his ear.

Kaiser turned his head.

A tall, elegant woman with long silver hair and an air of cool detachment came into view.

She wore a pristine white gown, exuding an indescribable aura of nobility mingled with a fierce, untamed intensity—as if she were both a refined aristocrat and a battle-hardened warrior.

The woman was none other than Grayfia Lucifuge.

Because of Kaiser's presence in this life, her path had long since diverged from its original course.

The maid outfit, naturally, was something she no longer wore.

"Fia-sis, you came."

Kaiser smiled, attempting to stand, but his legs gave a slight wobble from exhaustion.

In the next instant, a soft warmth enveloped him as he found himself pulled into a comforting embrace.

Grayfia steadied him, paying no mind to how intimately close they had become—or the unexpected thrill it sent through him.

"You really don't need to push yourself this hard in training. With me here, no one would dare trouble the Lucifuge Clan."

Looking at him with gentle concern, Grayfia chided softly.

"I just want to get stronger, that's all."

Kaiser shook his head.

This world offered far too little sense of security.

Grayfia was powerful, yes.

But even she paled against the true pinnacle of this world's combatants.

And besides—how could a man hide behind a woman's strength forever?

"My dear Kaiser will become incredibly strong one day."

A warm smile graced Grayfia's lips.

She believed it wholeheartedly.

Kaiser's rate of progress surpassed even most pure-blooded devils.

And moreover...

How could the man she had set her heart on ever be ordinary?

"Fia-sis, could you drop the 'dear' part?"

Kaiser said with a helpless chuckle. "I'm an adult now."

"Is that so? I hadn't noticed."

"Want me to prove it to you?"

As he spoke, Kaiser grinned and slipped an arm around her slender waist.

"Oh? It seems you're planning a rebellion."

Grayfia's cheeks flushed faintly pink, but she met his gaze without flinching.

If not for a woman's sense of propriety, she would have confessed her feelings long ago.

"Of course not."

Kaiser laughed lightly. "It's just that my demonic power is severely drained. I was hoping Fia-sis could help replenish it."

Grayfia paused, taken aback.

Kaiser truly had changed.

He had grown so bold.

In the past, whenever she suggested replenishing his power, he had always refused.

But today...

Had he finally come around?

With that thought, she noticed his face drawing nearer.

Mmm...

Grayfia's pupils widened sharply.

Her mind felt feverishly hot.

Kaiser's eyes gleamed as he sensed his demonic power gradually restoring.

The act of replenishment involved exchanging bodily fluids—a method reserved among devils for those closest to one another.

"My dear Kaiser, be honest with me—have you been seeing someone behind my back?"

Grayfia's lashes fluttered as she pursed her lips, glaring at him with a mix of puffiness and suspicion.

That was far too skillful.

"I just happen to be well-versed in theory."

Kaiser replied with unflinching confidence.

This was genuinely his first time replenishing power this way.

As for anything else... that belonged to his previous life and had nothing to do with this one.

"Is that right?"

Grayfia blinked, then flashed a provocative smile.

"Then I'll have to verify it properly."

"Do whatever you like."

Their eyes locked, as if the world held nothing else but each other.

"Ahem."

Just as Kaiser felt himself losing control, a deliberate cough echoed from the doorway.

Grayfia leaped aside like a startled rabbit, her ears burning red as panic surged within her.

Disaster.

It was all Kaiser's fault.

She hadn't even sensed someone approaching.

Had everything been seen?

"Oh my, it seems I've come at an inconvenient time."

Rias leaned against the wall, her expression tinged with jealousy.

Due to the close alliance between the Gremory and Lucifuge Clans, she and Kaiser had grown up as childhood friends.

Seeing this scene now filled her with an inexplicable irritation.

"Rias, couldn't you have announced yourself before coming?"

Grayfia took a deep breath to compose herself.

"Isn't this what you asked me to handle?"

Rias rolled her eyes. "Kaiser's enrollment at Kuoh Academy has been arranged."

"He can report there anytime in the coming days."

Hearing this, a look of understanding crossed Kaiser's face.

With the devil population strained, many clans sent their promising heirs to the human world once they reached a certain strength—to recruit servants and build their own peerages.

"I nearly forgot about that."

Grayfia nodded in realization before turning to him. "Kaiser, I've mentioned this to you before."

"You haven't changed your mind, have you?"

"Of course not."

Kaiser nodded.

He couldn't deny his curiosity about this chaotic mishmash of a world.

He wanted to see just how wild it could get.

"Good. Here's your transfer application."

Rias handed him a document and added, "When you arrive, feel free to stop by my club."

"It'll be easier for us to look out for each other."

After briefing him on a few more details, Rias departed, leaving him her contact number in case he had questions.

Memorizing it, Kaiser turned back with a sly smile. "Fia-sis, now that Rias is gone... shall we pick up where we left off?"

Grayfia's expression froze.

Was he really this forward now?

She felt herself struggling to keep up.

Even though she had long accepted him in her heart, this pace was a bit too swift.

"Oh, right—I just remembered I have some matters to attend to."

With that excuse, Grayfia hurried out of the room in a flustered rush.
