Chapter 115 - Chapter 115: Desert Battle

The argument inside the Kazekage's office had ended without a resolution. Sayo's ringing opposition and Rasa's decisions, forged in the fires of financial desperation, were like two parallel iron walls, neither could move the other. Sayo saw the chilling "Deliberation" in the eyes of the high command; he knew that the logic of "Necessary Sacrifice" had already been compiled.

In the depths of his fury, a near-crazy idea initialized. Since reason had failed, he would let strength speak. In the shinobi world, the final word always comes from the unit with the highest output.

He faced the Fourth Kazekage again, his dark eyes blazing with a frequency that made the air hum. He was no longer a subordinate petitioning his Kage; he was a challenger.

"Lord Kazekage! Since our ideals have entered a recursive conflict, let us decide this the shinobi way! Fight me!" Sayo's voice was as sharp as a high-tensile blade. "If I win, you retract this absurd proposal, Sunagakure will never betray its own heroes. If I lose… I will stand aside. I will personally escort Senior Pakura out of the village and, from that moment on, I will sever my connection to Sunagakure forever!"

The office fell into a deafening silence. This wasn't just a challenge; it was an ultimatum of secession.

Rasa's face turned livid. The prodigy he had personally promoted, the "System Patch" he had relied on, was now openly threatening to uninstall himself from the village's future.

"Good! Good! Good!" Rasa spat the words, each one colder than the last. "Sayo, I will sober your mind and make you understand: a Kage's decisions are not child's play! Deep in the desert, I will be waiting to shatter your unrealistic fantasies!"

That night, the moon was as cold as liquid nitrogen. Far outside the stone walls of Sunagakure, in the deep desert dunes, the world was silent save for the ceaseless, abrasive whisper of the wind.

Two silhouettes faced each other. The chakra fluctuations in the air were so intense they stirred the sand into a low-frequency vibration.

Rasa stood surrounded by rivers of gold. His Magnet Release: Gold Dust rose around him like liquid metal, glinting with a luxurious, lethal light under the moon. This was the pride of the Sand, the source of wealth and the absolute firewall of the village.

Opposite him, Sayo looked graver than ever. The Chrono-Furnace on his wrist glowed hot, its internal core spinning at maximum RPM as it continuously absorbed and converted Natural Energy. The "Nourishment" it provided to his cells had pushed his physique into a mysterious realm bordering on a "Sage Body." While not true Sage Mode, his "Hardware Specs", his stamina, perception, and regeneration had reached a state of peak optimization. He was firmly at the threshold of Kage-level performance.

"Sayo, it is not too late to abort this protocol!" Rasa's voice carried through the wind.

"My conviction is unyielding! Lord Rasa, forgive me!" Sayo struck first.

"Wind Release: Vacuum Great Ball!" "Earth Release: Earth Dragon Bullet!"

Combined Jutsu: Kinetic Storm. Highly compressed air-bullets wrapped around high-density rock projectiles shot toward Rasa at supersonic speeds. The power output was far beyond a standard A-rank technique.

Surprise flashed in Rasa's eyes; Sayo's level was higher than his data had suggested. Yet he stood unmoved. The Gold Dust instantly condensed into a dense, multi-layered shield wall.

BOOM--!!

A violent explosion tore a massive crater into the dune. The Gold Dust wall shuddered under the kinetic impact, but the "Root Admin" held firm.

"Magnet Release: Gold-Dust Spear!" Rasa countered. The gold transformed into thousands of razor-edged spikes that ripped through the air in a blinding barrage.

Sayo leapt back, slamming a palm to the ground. "Magnet Release: Iron-Sand Barrier!"

Jagged black iron sand gushed from beneath the dunes, forming a jagged rampart. While his Magnet Release lacked the "Material Purity" of Rasa's gold, Sayo's control over the iron's magnetic frequency was more sophisticated.

Clang-clang-clang! Gold struck iron, and the desert was lit by the sparks of colliding metals.

But Rasa's onslaught was a relentless tide. He manipulated the gold as a fluid, trying to Drown Sayo's defense. Sayo knew he couldn't stay passive. He clapped his hands, initializing his primary combat platform.

"Summoning Jutsu: Mirage v.2.0!"

White smoke erupted, and the silver-gray titan crashed down, its ten-meter frame radiating an overwhelming pressure. Sayo leapt onto the machine's shoulder, the neural threads behind his neck flashing blue as they plugged into the chassis. Man and machine became a single, high-bandwidth unit.

"Mirage – Ship-Splitter Blade!"

The massive alloy blade snapped out, cleaving through the air with a tearing shriek. It struck the onrushing gold-dust wave with a force that sent shockwaves through the desert floor.

BOOM--!

The recoil forced the Mirage back a step, but the concentrated torque of the machine split Rasa's gold wave apart.

"Interesting! You've upgraded your hardware!" Rasa's eyes sharpened. He clasped his palms together. "Magnet Release: Gold-Dust Funeral!"

Millions of grains of gold rose from the deep desert, forming a titanic hand that blotted out the stars. It was a "Full-Screen Strike," smashing down with an area-of-effect that made dodging seem impossible.

Sayo's pupils shrank. The DNI threads at the back of his head blazed with light. The thrusters on the Mirage's back roared, launching high-pressure chakra jets. The huge humanoid frame made an impossible, ninety-degree aerial maneuver, skimming past the edge of the golden palm with millimeters to spare.

While in mid-air, the Mirage opened its arm-ports, spraying clouds of poisoned senbon and micro-exploding tags at Rasa to disrupt his "Channeling Time."

Sayo's own hands never stopped weaving signs.

"Wind Release: Pressure Damage!" "Earth Release: Rock Pilfer!"

He was "Multitasking" across two separate combat systems. High-level Ninjutsu combined with the Mirage's physical strikes rained down on Rasa like a digital tempest. Rasa was forced to divert his gold into a spherical defense, his "Processing Power" stretched to the limit.

The battle raged from the cold of the deep night into the first light of dawn, then into the scorching heat of high noon.

The desert was being terraformed by their conflict. Craters, rifts, and stretches of sand that had been turned into glass by the heat of their chakra scarred the landscape. Rasa's shock grew with every hour. He found he could not suppress Sayo. The boy's resilience was unbelievable. The Mirage puppet was a "Troubleshoot" he couldn't solve.

Sayo, too, was reaching his "Thermal Limit." Blood leaked from the corner of his mouth; the DNI was putting a massive load on his brain's CPU. Yet the light in his eyes blazed with an immovable resolve.

In his mind, a maxim from his previous life as Logan echoed: "Seek peace through struggle and peace survives; seek peace through compromise and peace perishes!"

Compromise today, and tomorrow the system is hollowed out. Only by showing strength sufficient to protect one's code can true respect be gained.

"Lord Rasa! Shall we continue?!" Sayo shouted, his voice hoarse but steady. The Mirage stood beside him, its silver armor scorched but its ship-splitting blade still ready.

Hovering on a platform of gold, Rasa's own breathing was ragged. His gold dust was swirling in a defensive orbit, but for the first time, a "Flicker of Doubt" entered his mind. He looked at the thirteen-year-old who had fought him to a standstill for twelve hours.

Beneath the blazing noon sun, the "Kazekage" and the "Architect" stood at a stalemate. The desert had become a witness to a clash of ideals that would rewrite the future of the Hidden Sand.
