Chapter 7 - Chapter 7: Shocking Everyone with His Keen Eye and Coaching Skill

[Special Mission Triggered]

[Leave a deep impression on the horse girls. Progress: Incomplete. Reward: "Inspection Eye" function unlocked.]

[Note: "Inspection Eye" displays a horse girl's physical condition in the form of data.]

Just as Fujimura Hikaru was about to head to the classroom to greet the new students, his damn system popped up with that interface.

"Special mission… Inspection Eye?"

Reading the explanation on the mission panel, he more or less understood what it meant.

It should work similarly to how he could view himself while in his Hihitomi form—an on-screen status panel that made someone's overall strength and condition visible at a glance.

For a trainer, an ability like that was extremely convenient: he could accurately assess his own horse girl's level and design targeted training plans, and it would also be useful for scouting opponents.

In short: incredibly practical.

"Leave a deep impression on the horse girls…"

Staring at the mission requirement, Fujimura fell silent.

How was he supposed to do that?

Walk into the classroom and randomly lift a horse girl's skirt?

No. Absolutely not. Setting aside the fact that he'd lose his trainer qualification on the spot, if a startled horse girl kicked him even once, he'd be finished.

He needed to do something "bold," but not so provocative that it would traumatize students…

"Maybe… I should start with my appearance?"

On the way to the classroom, he happened to pass the theater club's room—and an idea suddenly struck him.

"Hello, everyone. I'm the teacher responsible for you during this period—Fujimura Hikaru. You can call me Teacher Fujimura."

A white curly wig, a neatly sized white beard, black-rimmed glasses, paired with a white suit and a black bow tie—Fujimura looked like he had stepped straight out of a commercial.

And with his deliberately stern expression, the sheer absurdity hit maximum.

Below the podium, the horse girls wore all sorts of strange expressions.

"Haha—Chazuke, I told you we'd get someone interesting, didn't I?"

Agnes Tachyon chuckled under her breath. Beside her, Manchester Chazuke remained expressionless.

"…A strange… guy."

On the other side, Mejiro McQueen visibly froze when she heard the name "Fujimura Hikaru."

"Huh… Fujimura Hikaru—wasn't that Miss Hihitomi's trainer's name?"

Wait. Miss Hihitomi's trainer was… this… distinctive?

In the classroom, watching the new teacher on the podium cosplaying a certain fried-chicken colonel, nearly every student's head filled with the same question mark.

Sir—what are you even here to do?

This isn't a place that sells chicken nuggets and burgers!

But soon, a few horse girls who knew their stuff seemed to realize something, and whispered in alarm:

"Fujimura Hikaru…! I know him! He's the trainer of that unbelievably dominant ace—Nice Nature Opera—who ruled the track!"

"What?! He's the one who raised a 'Tyrant'?!"

"Looks can be deceiving…"

Everyone still felt the guy looked completely unreliable—like a total eccentric—but the moment he stated his name, those in the know immediately understood:

He wasn't ordinary.

A trainer who could bring up a "Tyrant" was never going to be harmless.

And when they pictured Opera's overwhelming performances—and imagined that if they joined Fujimura's team, they might become that radiant someday—their gazes toward him grew noticeably hotter.

"Ahem."

Fujimura cleared his throat, cutting off their chatter.

"If there are no objections, we'll head to the training ground and run a couple of laps. I need a basic read on all of you."

"Yes—!"

The girls had no complaints. If anything, they were even more curious what kind of training this bizarre teacher would deliver.

Meanwhile, Fujimura saw the mission completion prompt and let the corner of his mouth lift slightly.

Even if they thought he was insane, it didn't matter.

Reward secured.

Inspection Eye: acquired.

The Central Tracen training ground was enormous. Tracks of various distances were available—large enough to accommodate a huge number of horse girls training at the same time.

Fujimura led his class to the edge of the field.

"Next, form groups of three. Sprint this 100-meter lane at full effort. After each run, I'll give you advice. Follow it in your training."

They complied and formed groups, but suspicion still lingered on their faces.

They didn't believe a trainer could judge someone's level from a mere 100 meters—much less pinpoint flaws and give high-quality corrections immediately. And Fujimura was claiming he could evaluate three girls at once.

That kind of eye… didn't exist.

And yet what happened next left them stunned.

"You—pay attention to your forward lean. Your arm swing amplitude is off."

"Adjust your foot strike. In a sprint, don't land flat-footed—use the forefoot or the outer edge; it suits you better."

"Watch your breathing rhythm. When you exhale, empty out the residual carbon dioxide as much as possible—make room for the next breath."

Group after group sprinted past, and Fujimura's mouth fired nonstop like a machine gun—rapid, precise, and effective. The efficiency was absurd.

"Oh? So he really does have skills."

Watching from a distance, Tachyon narrowed her eyes.

Giving on-the-spot, unprepared coaching plans was normally impossible.

To do it, you needed at least two things:

First, terrifying eyesight—enough to break down running mechanics in seconds, compare them to standard form, and pinpoint the exact issue instantly.

Second, the knowledge to fix problems—spotting an error meant nothing if you didn't know how to correct it.

And within only a few minutes, Fujimura had not only seen through so many girls' weaknesses, he even optimized their running styles.

That level of ability was excellent even among trainers.

"Not bad at all," Tachyon murmured, unable to hide her appreciation.

"Chazuke, what do you think of him?"

"…A strange guy."

Manchester Chazuke kept the same verdict as before, her golden eyes fixed on Fujimura's back—yet her gaze seemed oddly hollow, as if she were staring at something else entirely.

Meanwhile, Mejiro McQueen was thoroughly shaken.

"That's incredible…"

One hundred meters was as short as it got for horse girls. At full sprint, they'd cross the finish in mere seconds.

To analyze someone's form and then immediately provide a matching correction… within those seconds…

That was absurd.

It sounded like a fairy tale. If she hadn't seen it with her own eyes, McQueen would never have believed a trainer like this could exist.

"No wonder he raised a Tyrant… Teacher Fujimura is genuinely extraordinary…"

In that moment, McQueen's evaluation upgraded—he went from "a weirdo who looks like an advertisement colonel" to "a weirdo with terrifying professional competence."

And the "terrifyingly competent weirdo" himself was currently having the time of his life with his new power.

[Speed: 130 | Stamina: 100 | Power: 70 | Guts: 100 | Intelligence: 90]

As each horse girl sprinted, her physical stats flashed into view.

Inspection Eye laid their numbers bare—if Fujimura wanted, he could probably even read their measurements, but that was too low and shameless, so he didn't do anything that tasteless.

The moment Inspection Eye activated, it was like his vision had been enhanced: the horse girls running on the track seemed to move in slow motion, making every detail of their form easy to see.

Fujimura's own knowledge base was more than sufficient, and most beginners' issues were similar enough that correcting them wasn't hard.

The only real bottleneck—his "eyes"—became far less of a problem once Inspection Eye unlocked.

Before, he could only observe one horse girl's movement details in such a short window.

Now, he could observe three at once.

That was the difference.

After a simple round of testing, he also got a rough grasp of the class's overall level.

Most girls' stats hovered above 100. A few outstanding ones had already broken past 150.

For students who hadn't yet received systematic training to start at that level… Central Tracen's intake really was terrifying.

Among them, two had stamina above 200: Mejiro McQueen and Manchester Chazuke.

Agnes Tachyon's speed was the most shocking of all—219.

Compared to these geniuses' starting numbers, Fujimura suddenly felt how pitifully thin his own stat panel was when he became Hihitomi.

His initial panel had only one attribute above 100: Guts.

Just at the starting line, they were already far ahead of him.

Was this the difference between talent and the ordinary?

Soon, the basic aptitude testing ended. Fujimura assigned training programs and told the horse girls to practice on their own.

He had no intention of wasting energy supervising whether they trained seriously.

To him, training seriously was the most basic requirement. If a horse girl couldn't even do that without someone watching her, then no matter how she was nurtured, she would never become a true powerhouse.

While the others trained, Mejiro McQueen quietly approached Fujimura.

"Hello, Teacher Fujimura…"

"Oh? McQueen."

Hearing the sound behind him, Fujimura turned and saw McQueen's slightly timid expression.

"Um… Teacher Fujimura, can I ask you something?"

"Go ahead."

"Is Miss Hihitomi on your team? I want to thank her."

McQueen glanced down at her foot. Yesterday's injury wasn't fully healed, but it had eased significantly—enough not to interfere with normal activity.

According to the attending doctor, it was fortunate Hihitomi got her to the hospital in time. If it had worsened, it wouldn't have been something a day or two of rest could fix.

Learning that made McQueen's gratitude deepen even more. Right now, she only wanted to meet that horse girl and thank her properly—through Fujimura.

"…"

Facing McQueen's sincere request, Fujimura's head started to ache.

He genuinely didn't know how to answer.

If he admitted Hihitomi was on his team, McQueen would inevitably demand to see her.

Which meant… would he have to transform again just for McQueen?

"Teacher Fujimura, you really are Miss Hihitomi's trainer, right…? Miss Hihitomi didn't lie to me… did she?"

When Fujimura still didn't respond, McQueen's expression shifted. Her mouth drooped, and the "gray-haired dumpling" entered full-on dejected mode.

"…Yes," Fujimura finally said.

Looking at McQueen like that, he couldn't bring himself to say, Actually, she lied to you—Hihitomi doesn't exist.

Some truths, once you miss the right moment, become almost impossible to confess.

This was exactly that kind of situation.

"Then can I meet Miss Hihitomi? I want to thank her in person!"

"Ah… Hihitomi… she's… gone off to do independent training recently… She won't be back for a while."

He racked his brain and finally produced a reason that sounded barely plausible—just enough to stall the situation.

"Oh! Then I'll wait until she comes back!"

McQueen beamed.

At least now she didn't have to keep wandering the academy like a headless chicken, searching for Hihitomi.

And as Fujimura looked at her smile, he silently wondered—

When, exactly, should he choose to transform next?
