Chapter 72 - Chapter 72 Building an Ice Bridge to Cross the Black River.

The Three Lights Divine Water emitted an astonishing three-colored light, instantly illuminating this dark and desolate land. The light contained strange energy.

Hai Bodong, who was standing nearby, felt as if he were surrounded by a warm ocean just by being near this light. The chill that had been constantly eroding him and the immense cold pressure instantly dissipated. This was the most comfortable he had felt since entering the valley.

Hun Changqing gently pointed his finger, and the Three Lights Divine Water split in two. One drop flew into Hai Bodong's body, and the other drop transformed into light to envelop him.

The Three Lights Divine Water had a miraculous effect, healing injuries to the body and soul, resisting the erosion of external energy, and so on.

Hun Changqing had not used the Three Lights Divine Water for the past few days because its consumption of Taiyin True Qi was too terrifying. If he used the Three Lights Divine Water to resist the cold pressure every moment, Hun Changqing would exhaust his True Qi in less than half a day.

Now that they had reached the final hurdle before the center of the valley, there was no need to be stingy with the Three Lights Divine Water anymore. The chilling pressure and yin energy emanating from this black river were simply too terrifying.

Although Hun Changqing's Taiyin Origin was essentially much stronger than this yin energy, he was still too weak, and his energy level was not as high as the terrifying yin energy contained in the black river before him.

Moreover, Hun Changqing's Taiyin True Qi was ultimately transformed from Dou Qi, and it would be more appropriate to call it Taiyin Dou Qi now.

Unable to unleash even a fraction of the true power of his Taiyin True Qi, he naturally could not directly suppress the black river before him. Only when Hun Changqing could access higher-level energy could his Taiyin True Qi continuously evolve and improve.

At this moment, the two were enveloped in the three-colored light, and they immediately felt their bodies relax, as if the mountain that had been pressing down on them had suddenly disappeared.

The two slowly stepped forward and walked to a spot not far in front of the black river.

Hun Changqing could sense that trying to forcibly step into the air and fly over the river was nothing short of a pipe dream.

The freezing pressure above the stream was several times more terrifying than in other places. Anyone who hovered above it would be severely injured by the immense pressure and fall into the river.

As for what would happen if one fell in, Hun Changqing wasn't particularly curious and had no interest in it whatsoever.

Hun Changqing narrowed his eyes, pondered for a moment, and then said to Hai Bodong,

"How long can you hold out to condense an ice bridge over the Black River?"

Hai Bodong compared the Yin energy in the Black River with his own battle qi, then said with a wry smile,

"My lord, if I were to condense an ice bridge over the Black River, I'm afraid my battle qi would be dispersed by the Yin energy before it even takes shape."

  Hun Changqing nodded and said,

"What if I could help you resist some of the Yin energy?"

"If the Yin energy can't disperse my battle qi as quickly as I can condense it, I can condense an ice bridge to the other side of the river within the time it takes for an incense stick to burn. However, this would require a huge amount of battle qi to support my consumption."

Hai Bodong thought for a moment and replied,

"Very good, then so be it."

Hun Changqing nodded and tossed a bottle of pills to Hai Bodong, saying,

"Take all the pills. The medicinal power will be stored in your body, constantly replenishing your consumed battle qi. After swallowing, begin immediately."

  "Yes, my lord."

...     A moment later, Hai Bodong, having swallowed the pill, exuded a powerful aura of battle qi, his imposing presence overwhelming.

He slowly walked to the riverbank, took a deep breath, and a blue light flashed in his eyes. He spread his arms, his battle qi spreading out, gathering above the river and slowly solidifying.

At this moment, the previously stagnant surface of the river began to surge wildly, black yin energy rising from the water, impacting the azure, icy battle qi.

Seeing this, Hun Changqing's eyes flashed coldly. He came to Hai Bodong's side, his palms outstretched, and two grayish-white vortexes formed from the Weak Water suddenly appeared in his palms.

He swung his palms forward, and a terrifying suction force emanated from the vortexes, frantically drawing in the black river yin energy that was attacking Hai Bodong's icy battle qi.

Most of the black yin energy was absorbed and decomposed by Hun Changqing, transformed into Taiyin True Qi, and instantly refined within his body.

However, some of the Black River Yin Qi still managed to break through the pull of Hun Changqing's Weak Water vortex and reach Hai Bodong's nascent ice bridge, dispersing much of the icy battle qi.

Hai Bodong, however, had anticipated this and remained calm. Instead, he mobilized the medicinal power within his body, frantically replenishing his battle qi and then channeling it to the partially formed ice bridge.

Thus, Hai Bodong's battle qi condensed, a wisp of Black River Yin Qi broke through the encirclement, dispersing the battle qi, and Hai Bodong condensed it again… In this back and forth, the condensation of the ice bridge was nearing completion.

Hai Bodong's medicinal power was exhausted, and he was now somewhat weak, gritting his teeth and persevering. In contrast, Hun Changqing, having decomposed the Black River Yin Qi and converted it into true qi for refining and absorption, was also feeling quite full.

The next moment, just as Hai Bodong's fighting spirit was about to be exhausted, the ice bridge finally solidified completely. Hai Bodong, disregarding everything else, shouted without turning his head,

  "My lord!"

Hun Changqing's pupils also narrowed instantly. He landed on his left foot, slightly bent, and then with a powerful push, shot forward like a cannonball.

A black shadow, almost invisible to the naked eye, flashed across the ice bridge, reaching the latter half within a few breaths, about to cross to the other side of the Black River.

At this moment, the ice bridge, lacking the support of further fighting spirit and constantly impacted by the terrifying Yin energy beneath, was already teetering on the brink of collapse.

Hai Bodong's pupils contracted upon seeing this. Some thoughts that had been suppressed earlier because of Hun Changqing's strength resurfaced.

"If I want to kill him, this is the best opportunity… As soon as I make this ice bridge disappear, he will immediately fall into this terrifying black water…"

Hai Bodong's expression was uncertain, his body swaying, his hands clenched, caught in a dilemma.

"Just a little bit of battle qi… to make the ice bridge disappear… that would be enough…"

  "Sigh."

After a struggle with his conscience, Hai Bodong sighed, not daring to think about it anymore.

The impression Hun Changqing had left on him was too deep; those endless, bizarre methods made Hai Bodong unsure if this would truly kill him. If Hun Changqing didn't die, the consequences…

Moreover, the Mittel family was now connected to Hun Changqing. Hai Bodong thought it over and decided it was best not to gamble the Mittel family's future because of his hatred.
