The Great Priest's voice rang out like a colossal bell, reverberating throughout Universe 2. It was so clear that everyone could hear every word he spoke.
"Gods of Destruction and Angels!" His voice carried both solemnity and authority. "Today, I announce a matter of grave importance: the Tournament of Power is imminent! This battle will determine the fate of the universes and serve as a stage to showcase your power!"
He explained the rules of the Tournament of Power in detail with a passionate and rousing speech to the Gods of Destruction and Angels of Universe 2.
Eight universes would participate: Universe 2, Universe 3, Universe 4, Universe 6, Universe 7, Universe 9, Universe 10, and Universe 11.
Excluding the First Universe, Universe 2, the Fifth Universe, and the Eighth Universe, all other universes would send representatives to this grand event.
When the Great Priest revealed this news, Son Goku nearly leaped with excitement.
"Wow! The Tournament of Power? That sounds amazing!" Son Goku's eyes widened, sparkling with anticipation.
Vegeta, standing beside him, smirked excitedly. "Hmph, finally another chance to show off our strength!"
Across the way, Trunks smiled knowingly.
"So the Tournament of Power is really happening." A confident smile appeared on his face as he murmured, "With Universe 7's current level, just the Saiyans alone should be enough to make up eight participants, right?"
"With Universe 7's current level, the Saiyans alone should have eight participants, right?"
Besides himself, there were seven others:
Gohan, Son Goku, Vegeta, Son Goten, Bulla, Super Broly, and ZBroly.
Then Trunks remembered another potential candidate: Frieza.
Despite their complicated history, Frieza would likely be willing to help, given the circumstances.
And even if Frieza refused, Beerus could simply intimidate him into participating. After all, Frieza held Beerus in high regard.
However, when Trunks began considering the next candidate, he found himself in a dilemma.
Majin Buu and Super Perfect Cell were both excellent choices, but the problem lay in their distinct personalities.
Majin Buu was absolutely indispensable as the team's healer.
But if Super Perfect Cell wasn't allowed to participate, the arrogant bio-android would undoubtedly be furious.
Just as Trunks was deep in thought, Beerus and Champa suddenly erupted in a frenzy.
The two brothers abruptly looked up, their mouths gaping wide, and shouted in unison, "What?! The losing universes will be erased?!"
This sudden news left them utterly shocked.
Moments earlier, the Great Priest had clearly conveyed Zen'ō's intentions and reaffirmed them:
"Indeed, that is correct. Lord Zen'ō means that the other universes are deemed too inferior, somewhat lacking in merit. Therefore, the Tournament of Power serves as your final opportunity to prove your worth and survive."
His tone was calm, yet each sentence struck their hearts like a heavy hammer.
"Whether you are erased or not depends on you."
These words made everyone's hearts leap into their throats.
"Very well, then. The Tournament of Power will commence in three days. This time, you have ample preparation time. I urge the Angels and Gods of Destruction from each Universe to prepare thoroughly."
With the Great Priest's announcement concluded, the celestial screens displaying the Angels from each Universe flickered off, leaving only the stunned Gods of Destruction behind.
An eerie silence descended upon the assembly, each face etched with disbelief.
What had been perceived as a mere competition had suddenly transformed into a matter of cosmic survival.
This brutal reality was impossible to accept.
Beerus and Champa exchanged a glance, their eyes filled with anxiety and unease.
They realized that the Tournament of Power was no longer just a contest of strength; it was a life-or-death trial.
The two Gods of Destruction stared at each other in shock, their eyes wide with astonishment. Zen'ō (King of All) was indeed terrifying.
Standing beside them, Gohan, Son Goku, and Vegeta were equally stunned into silence, their faces etched with disbelief.
Suddenly, Vegeta remembered something.
The person before them looked exactly like the eraser-like being he had encountered in Son Goten's universe!
The word "erase" struck his mind like lightning, tightening his nerves.
He couldn't believe that such a seemingly innocent person possessed such terrifying power, the ability to effortlessly erase an entire planet.
It was truly shocking.
While Vegeta was still reeling, his gaze unintentionally landed on Trunks.
At that moment, there wasn't the slightest hint of shock on Trunks's face.
Suddenly, Beerus, who was holding a pudding cup, realized that the pudding no longer tasted good.
He began moving closer to everyone else. They were all like grasshoppers tied to the same rope.
He was secretly relieved that he hadn't destroyed Earth.
The warriors on Earth were the absolute best in Universe 7.
If he had destroyed them back then, Universe 7 would have been erased.
"You all heard it, too, right? So, what are your plans?" Beerus asked, his tone more polite than before.
Son Goku counted on his fingers. "Me, Vegeta, Gohan, and Trunks, that's four."
Trunks added, "The two Broly brothers, Bulla, and Goten; that makes eight."
Upon hearing "the two Broly brothers," Gohan looked worried.
"Broly is fine, but is that Z Broly, who could lose control at any moment, really okay?"
"And speaking of which, shouldn't that guy still be drifting somewhere in the universe?"
As he spoke, Trunks began searching for ZBroly's ki signature.
But in the next moment, he froze in place. He couldn't sense any trace of ZBroly's energy.
"This doesn't make sense! I clearly remember him fleeing after defeating Hatchiyack. How can I not sense his ki?"
Trunks and the others began focusing their senses to detect ZBroly's ki.
But no matter how hard they tried, it was as if something was blocking their perception.
At that moment, Champa, standing nearby, seemed to sense something amiss.
His behavior grew increasingly furtive.
He tugged at Vados's sleeve and whispered, "Vados, let's go. We need to return to Universe 6."
Vados instantly understood Champa's meaning.
She waved her staff, bid farewell to Beerus and Whis, and began preparing to depart.
