She looked at the System seriously.
"I think there's a VERY big piece missing from this story. Something significant happened that we don't know about. And I want to meet Maya's parents to find out what it is."
The System still looked uncertain, so Heena continued: "Look, I can just say I met them by accident while shopping in their town. I'm new to the region, newly married, a former servant—I don't know who Maya's parents are or what they look like. Most people wouldn't suspect anything because I have legitimate reasons not to recognize them."
She shrugged. "And even if someone DOES suspect I'm investigating, so what? What can they actually do about it? I'm the young master's legal wife now. I have status and protection. A casual conversation with some townspeople isn't illegal."
Then she looked at the System with a more serious expression.
