The moment he clicked the Confirm button, Kael's heart started pounding with anticipation.
On the system screen, the vast blue sky and white clouds scattered at once, replaced by a starry night descending from above. Beams of starlight converged in the void, forming ten brightly shining stars. They fell like meteors, dragging multicolored trails behind them.
White, green, blue…
He knew the first few pulls were usually junk, but this was a gacha draw. Who hasn't fantasized about hitting a gold on the very first try? Everything now depended on the crucial ninth pull!
Blue!
"Damn it!"
If the ninth pull had been purple, there would've been a guaranteed floor for this draw. Even if the tenth pull wasn't gold, it wouldn't be a total loss. Now that there was no guarantee, panic started to creep in.
Whoosh—!
The final streak of starlight fell from the sky, dragging a brilliant golden tail.
"Gold!!"
"Haha!! It's gold—!!"
Seeing that golden glow, Kael bounced in excitement. Although he'd already pulled plenty of Legendary character cards, the sight of a Golden Legend still made his blood surge.
[...]
At that moment, even the system felt the urge to report Kael for cheating. How could this kid pull a gold every single time? His luck was so absurd that the system suspected a bug. But after a thorough check, it found nothing wrong. The odds were objectively tiny!
Why was his luck so insane? Had this kid actually slept with the Goddess of Luck?
At last, the gacha animation ended. Now came the best part: the cards began flipping one by one.
Even though the lower-tier cards were useless—basically just EXP fodder—Kael was in such a good mood that even "trash" looked pleasing. Soon, the final golden character card flipped over.
As the image appeared, Kael's breath caught, and his heart slammed against his ribs. His eyes lit up with pure, unfiltered excitement.
"It's him!!!"
The man on the card was striking. His hair was a clean, bright white, with lashes to match. Behind them, his eyes were a vivid sky blue, hazy with a pale mist. He had a lean, long-limbed build, stood well over 190 cm, and wore a fitted black uniform. No one could deny he was handsome.
It was none other than the strongest Jujutsu Sorcerer from Jujutsu Kaisen: the homeroom teacher of Tokyo Jujutsu High and a Special Grade Sorcerer—Satoru Gojo.
From the very beginning, the author framed him as "The Strongest." Early on, everything he did lived up to the title—then the later part of the story happened.
The once-unstoppable Satoru Gojo started talking like he'd already lost, acting like he was miles behind Ryomen Sukuna. To Kael, it wasn't character growth—it was the author pulling a stupid swerve. And then Chapter 236 hit: he went down out of nowhere and got cut in half by Sukuna.
After that, the internet did what it does. The timeline flooded with jokes: "Gojo 2.5." "Go/jo."
Kael couldn't believe it. Who was everyone really reading Jujutsu Kaisen for—Yuji Itadori, the official protagonist? Or the three students' growth?
Neither. Most readers were there for Gojo; to them, he was the real main character. And the author's move was to split the fan-favorite in half—then bring in Yuta Okkotsu, the "Pure Love Warrior," late in the game to pilot Gojo's body like a Gundam.
For Kael, the series ended the moment Gojo went down—or the moment he said he couldn't beat Sukuna. Everything after that felt flavorless. A perfect hand, thrown away.
Still, even as "Half-Gojo," his overall power was ridiculous. And his Domain Expansion remained one of the most iconic, most addictive parts of the series.
"Tsk tsk! Another man whose looks are almost on par with mine."
Kael stared at the card, liking Satoru Gojo more and more. In raw combat power, Gojo wasn't necessarily the strongest card in his deck, but in style, he was the clear winner. Officially, setting aside his personality, he was "perfect": a great cook, good at housework, and an amazing singer—traits Kael felt mirrored his own.
Moreover, Gojo had unique abilities his other cards lacked. In certain specialized situations, he would be far more effective than Kael's "stronger" characters.
Kael quickly checked the blue and lower-tier cards. Just to be safe, he went through them twice to make sure he didn't accidentally recycle something important.
[Do you want to recycle the selected character cards?]
"Yes!"
[Recycle successful! Congratulations to the Host; magic power has increased!]
Kael didn't feel a dramatic change. Power gains at this level came slowly, and the next step was a major wall. Reaching seven stars would demand far more energy than anything he'd spent so far. By his estimate, it would take at least three gold cards to push him there—and Kael had no intention of burning that kind of resource unless he was cornered.
Kael opened his personal attribute panel:
Host: Kael
Age: 19
Race: Human
Magic Power: ★★★★★★
Magic: Take Over Magic
Character Cards: Ulquiorra Cifer (Gold), Yoriichi Tsugikuni (Gold), Toji Fushiguro (Gold), Edward Newgate (Gold), Minato Namikaze (Gold), Satoru Gojo (Gold), Portgas D. Ace (Purple).
Current Draw Chances: 5
Looking at the list of golden cards, Kael felt deeply satisfied. Having a system really was the ultimate cheat. Since he got one free draw every month, his chances had already built back up to five. Five more, and he'd have another ten-pull ready.
Now, for the best part.
"Full-Body Take Over: Satoru Gojo!"
Kael's body began to transform. First, his black hair turned a bright, clean white. His eyes shifted into those iconic sky-blue irises hazed with a pale mist—the Six Eyes passed down through the Gojo clan. In Naruto terms, it was essentially a kekkei genkai.
Functionally, it was similar to the Byakugan: 360-degree vision with no blind spots, the ability to see over vast distances, and the power to see through solid objects. He could instantly tell if someone was a sorcerer, see through their techniques, and track the flow of cursed energy with flawless precision. It was the absolute prerequisite for controlling the Limitless technique.
Finally, Kael's clothes shifted into the high-collared black uniform of Jujutsu High. He stepped in front of the mirror, admiring his new look. He liked what he saw.
"I really am way too handsome."
