"The guild?!"
Kael and Natsu both froze in shock.
"It's true! We're the only three left!"
Natsu grabbed Wendy's head and gave it a shake. "Wendy, did you hit your head and go stupid?"
Kael knit his brows and looked up at the sky. A hole still lingered there, causing a suspicion to take root in his mind.
Just then, Carla appeared and spoke. "What Wendy says is true."
"Carla! Thank goodness! You're okay."
Right then, Happy flew over in a panic. "This is bad, Natsu, Kael... the whole city is gone!!"
He had just gone out to look for Carla since she hadn't returned in the rain; he hadn't expected to see the town vanish. Terrified, he scrambled back to where the guild used to be.
Hearing Happy's words confirmed that the guild and the city were truly gone. "What the hell is going on? Why did the guild and the streets just disappear?"
"They were all sucked away by 'Anima'."
"'Anima'? What kind of thing is that?"
"The Super-Dimensional Space Magic 'Anima' is a weapon used by the world of Edolas to drain magic power from other worlds. That spell just sucked Magnolia away and converted it into raw magic."
"Edolas is completely different from here. Magic is starting to disappear there, and magic power is limited. If it continues to be used, one day, magic will vanish from that world entirely. To save the depleting magic power, the King of Edolas absorbs magic from other worlds—specifically, from this one."
Natsu asked, confused, "Why did they have to absorb Fairy Tail?!"
Carla explained, "Because Fairy Tail is home to many powerful mages, it was chosen as the target for absorption."
Natsu shouted furiously at the sky, "What a bunch of arrogant bastards! Give everyone back to me, you pieces of trash!!"
Wendy looked at Carla with confusion. "Carla? How do you know so much?"
Carla explained, "Because I came from that world. The male cat is the same. We were sent to this world after being assigned a mission by the Kingdom of Edolas."
"No way! You hatched from an egg! Right here in this world!!"
"Same for Happy! I'm the one who found him!"
Wendy and Natsu immediately retorted. They had both found Carla and Happy as eggs; even their names had been given by them.
"It's true that we were born and raised in this world, but Edolas's knowledge and our mission were etched into our bodies. We should have known everything from the moment we were born. Why don't you know anything?!"
Carla looked at the oblivious Happy with anger. Since her birth, she had been agonized by her mission, while Happy remained happy-go-lucky and ignorant.
"So... uh... is the disappearance of the guild and the streets mine and Carla's fault?"
"Indirectly, yes."
Happy suddenly became dejected, overcome with guilt.
Kael patted Happy's small head. "Alright, now that things are clear, it's simple enough. I'll just take a trip to Edolas and rescue everyone."
Natsu clenched his fists. "Damn right! Those bastards actually dared to take everyone. I've gotta put them in their place!"
"I'm going too!" Wendy said. She was a member of Fairy Tail now, so she naturally wanted to help.
"Are you really going? Your opponent is an entire kingdom! And once we go, there's no guarantee we'll make it back alive." Carla didn't want Wendy to take the risk.
Kael smiled. "Don't underestimate me. It's just a cross-world trip. If the world were too far away, it might be a hassle, but a short-distance world like this is simple."
Arrancars almost all possess the 'Descorrer' ability, a skill specifically for crossing worlds. The distance between Edolas and Earth Land was roughly the same as the distance between Hueco Mundo and the Living World.
Hearing Kael's words, Natsu clapped his hands. "That settles it, no more worries then."
Wendy asked, "But how do we get there?"
"Fly there!"
Carla said.
"What?!"
Carla pointed at the sky. "Before the passage vanishes, we can reach Edolas just by flying through it. Our wings were grown specifically for the purpose of returning to Edolas."
"I see! Let's go, Happy! Let's go see your hometown!"
"Aye!"
Happy immediately spread his wings, grabbed Natsu, and flew upward.
"Carla..."
Carla grabbed Wendy and flew into the air.
Wendy hadn't expected Carla to choose to go to Edolas too.
"I'm a member of Fairy Tail too, after all. And if this is what you want, Wendy, I'll definitely help you make it happen."
Seeing how determined Wendy was to save the guild, Carla had no choice but to fulfill her wish.
"Male cat!! Release your magic!! Enter Edolas through the remnants of the 'Anima' and use our wings to push through!"
"Alright!!"
Natsu's feet erupted in flames, boosting Happy's sprint.
Finally, at the very instant the passage vanished, the group charged into Edolas.
At this moment, a very strange landscape unfolded before them. In this world, many giant planets were visible to the naked eye, and massive islands floated in the sky. There were birds and beasts never seen before, and some rivers flowed through the air without support. It was an incredible and spectacular sight.
"Ooh!!"
"So this is Edolas..."
"It really is... another world..."
"Oh no! Kael!"
Wendy suddenly remembered that Kael didn't seem to have followed them. Happy was carrying Natsu, and Carla was carrying her; they had left Kael completely behind.
"I'm right here."
Kael's voice rang out above their heads. The group looked back and saw that, at some point, Kael had transformed into his Satoru Gojo persona.
When Happy first took off, Kael had activated his Gojo vessel and used teleportation to reach this world a step ahead of them.
Right at that moment, Happy and Carla's wings suddenly vanished.
"Aaaaah!"
"Uwaaaaah!"...
Several screams rang out as they plummeted downward.
Just as they were about to hit the ground, Kael reached out and caught them, preventing them from slamming into the earth.
"We're... saved!"
"Thank you, Kael."
Just then, a strangely shaped building appeared before them. It looked like a giant tree root, but it flew the Fairy Tail flag. The name "Fairy Tail" was also written on the main gate.
"It's Fairy Tail!!
