"Flying?!!"
Everyone who didn't know Kael's abilities was utterly shocked. They had seen people fly using wings before, but they had never seen a man fly through the air out of thin air.
Although King Faust's attack was sudden, it couldn't escape the detection of Kael's Six Eyes. The moment the bomb exploded, he used teleportation to vanish.
"Enough! Stop your tricks and just disappear already! Aaaaaagghh!!"
The barrel of the mechanical dragon's mouth aimed at Kael. A magic circle expanded in front of the cannon, and a blast of energy roared toward him.
Swoosh———!
Kael's figure vanished instantly, reappearing in the next second directly on top of the mechanical dragon's head.
"You bastard! How dare you stand on the head of the most noble King of Edolas!"
Kael drove his foot down with heavy force.
BOOM———!!
The mechanical dragon's head was slammed downward, crashing into the ground.
"Dammit!!"
King Faust controlled the mechanical dragon to wrench its head back up.
He saw Kael's palm aimed directly at him.
"Cursed Technique Reversal: Red!"
The crimson orb of Red struck the mechanical dragon's head squarely.
"Aaaaauuughhhh!!"
The massive frame of the mechanical dragon was sent flying backward, its body tumbling across the ground for several rotations before finally coming to a halt.
"So this thing is actually pretty tough."
"Of course it is! This is reinforced armor! Magic is useless against the Dorma Anim—"
"Beep-beep———!"
At that moment, several red warning lights flared up inside the cockpit.
[Reinforced armor damaged!] [Reinforced armor damaged!]
"No! How is this possible?! Magic should be useless against the Dorma Anim!"
"Magic? Who told you I'm using magic? Though this thing is indeed special; it managed to dampen a portion of my Cursed Technique's effects. Otherwise, that last hit should have shattered this thing into pieces."
While Cursed Techniques and magic were different, they both belonged to the side of the supernatural. There was some overlap between them, something Kael had noticed long ago.
"Dragon Rider Scatter Cannon!!"
Faust opened the magazines on the back, and scores of missiles streaked toward Kael.
Kael's figure blurred as he dodged the projectiles, only for them to bank sharply and continue chasing him.
"Homing missiles?"
Flash!
In the next instant, Kael appeared right in the middle of the Edolas Royal Army.
Seeing the missiles homing in on their position, many of the soldiers nearly wet themselves in terror.
"Run!!"
"The missiles are coming this way!!"
They tried to flee in a panic, but no human could outrun a missile.
BOOM BOOM BOOM BOOM BOOM BOOM!!
"Aaaaauuughhhh!!"
"Waaaaahhhh!!" ...
A massive number of soldiers were swallowed by the explosions of their own king's attack.
"Well, well. Your King is quite the tyrant, isn't he? Slaughtering his own loyal soldiers without a second thought."
"You lot! Are you just going to stand there and watch?! Kill the invaders now!! If these bastards aren't taken out, the Kingdom of Edolas will be completely destroyed!!"
Faust roared in fury. He didn't care about the lives of those soldiers; there were always more where they came from.
Once they were dead, he could just recruit a new batch. There were countless people who wanted to join the Royal Army.
As long as these invaders were dealt with, it didn't matter even if every single soldier was sacrificed.
Hearing the King's order, the four division captains were the first to move, charging at Kael.
Natsu and Gajeel also launched their own attacks against King Faust.
Panther Lily lunged in front of Kael, throwing a punch aimed directly at Kael's face.
The fist came to a dead stop right next to Kael's cheek.
Sugarboy swung his sword from behind, aiming to take Kael's head, but the blade stopped short of his neck.
"Take this! Zombie Giant!"
A massive puppet dressed like a zombie reached out with both hands to grab Kael.
The palms were unable to get closer than twenty centimeters from Kael's body.
Erza Knightwalker took the opportunity to thrust her spear toward Kael's face.
The spear tip stopped approximately twenty centimeters away from Kael's eye.
"Explosion Spear!"
Knightwalker shouted as her spear shifted form and began to glow.
Panther Lily and Sugarboy immediately retreated.
BOOM————!!
A violent explosion erupted at point-blank range.
"Did we get him?!"
Several people stared tensely at the site of the explosion.
Soon, Kael's figure emerged. Seeing his completely unharmed state, despair began to leak into their eyes.
Was it even possible for a human to defeat a monster like this?
Kael raised his hand. A Blue orb appeared in his palm, instantly swallowing the zombie puppet behind him.
In the next moment.
Kael appeared in front of Hughes, driving a fist deep into his abdomen.
"Gugh!"
"Hughes!"
Sugarboy prepared to swing his sword in a counter-attack, only to realize his blade had vanished at some point.
Kael spoke indifferently: "That's not how you use a sword."
Splurt!
Sugarboy's armor shattered as a spray of blood erupted from a wound on his body.
"What incredible... swordsmanship..."
Sugarboy collapsed.
"You bastard!"
Just as Panther Lily was about to speak, Kael pressed his palm against Lily's stomach.
"Oh no!"
Pah————!!
A powerful repulsive force erupted from Kael's palm.
"Gwah!!"
Lily's body was sent flying backward, crashing into the ruins.
"Sacred Spear: Ravelt!!"
Erza Knightwalker unleashed the strongest form of her Ten Commandments Spear.
Kael raised his hand, his Limitless barrier blocking the spear.
"Aaaaaagghh!!"
Knightwalker roared. She refused to believe that even her Sacred Spear couldn't do anything to him.
Under her intense pressure, the spear began to slowly crawl closer to Kael. Seeing that she was finally breaking through his defense, Knightwalker was exhilarated. With just a little more effort, she might actually be able to kill him.
Kael, however, remained cold: "Too naive."
This spear had a partial ability to bypass his Limitless, but it was only partial. Even if it lasted for a second, it was more than enough time for Kael to react.
Kael pointed the fingers of his other hand at Erza Knightwalker.
"Cursed Technique Reversal: Red!"
"No!"
Knightwalker immediately pulled back her spear, using the shaft to block.
The small red orb slammed into the spear's shaft.
CRACK———!
"The... the Sacred Spear actually..."
This was a weapon forged by the finest craftsmen, yet it had just shattered like this.
"Aaaaauuughhhh!!"
Erza screamed as she was blasted into the palace ruins.
Meanwhile, Natsu, Gajeel, and Wendy were already at a disadvantage in their struggle against Faust.
The Royal Army soldiers were swarming Lucy and Wendy, and the two were beginning to buckle under the pressure.
"It's time to put an end to this fight."
"Happy, Carla, take Lucy and Wendy and get out of here! I'm going to wipe the field clean!"
"What?!"
Happy and Carla were terrified by the tone of his voice. They immediately grabbed the girls and flew away at top speed, fearing that if they were even a second late, they'd be finished.
"Run for it!!"
Natsu and Gajeel heard Kael's words and immediately abandoned their attack on King Faust. They turned tail and sprinted away without a single second of hesitation.
