Chapter 22 - Seele Simulator - 22

"Tsk... though I really did feel for a split second back then that bastard absolutely deserved to die."

"But could just that tiny moment really have been enough for the Herrscher persona to seize control?"

Lunelle skeptically rechecked the synchronized memories several times.

But after multiple verifications, the results remained unchanged. In the end, Lunelle had no choice but to accept this rather troublesome answer.

As for the increasingly clear conjecture forming in her mind, Lunelle couldn't help but find it exceptionally tricky.

Of course, the tricky part wasn't because eliminating this lowlife who dared covet her beloved wife Seele would be particularly difficult.

After all, these privileged young masters in the simulation, who wield immense power and influence, might indeed be like "gods" to the ordinary, low-status people within that world—capable of deciding others' fates and lives with a single word.

But such so-called worldly authority isn't worth much in the face of a true Herrscher, who possesses world-ending power and acts with utter recklessness.

When it comes down to it, cutting him down would be no different from dealing with any ordinary person—just another weakling easily disposed of with one strike.

The only real difference might be that when "Seele" crushed every bone in his body and finally lopped off his head, the blood that sprayed out seemed far fouler than that of a normal person.

However, if Lunelle's conjecture turned out to be true, then even with the ability to casually crush that scum in the simulation, the consequences of indiscriminately killing might be far more severe than she imagined!

After repeatedly recalling the abrupt loss of emotional control during the simulation, Lunelle deduced that since this Herrscher persona "Seele" was a special existence derived from the Authority of the Herrscher of Death, it likely possessed an innate talent from birth—the ability to amplify killing intent within living beings!

Even the slightest flicker of murderous impulse in her heart would give the Herrscher persona an opening to geometrically magnify that tiny surge of intent.

Just like in the first simulation, Lunelle had probably fallen victim to this very trap.

That's why a thought that should have merely passed through her mind suddenly triggered such intense agitation—slamming the table in fury, wishing she could immediately slaughter and tear apart every existence that dared covet her beloved wife Seele!

But even understanding this, some scum still had to die.

After all, having learned from the diary about the tragic experiences her beloved Seele endured in the previous civilization, Lunelle—as an obsessive wife-protector—had already added that young master from the simulation, who nearly drove her beloved Seele to despair and suicide, to her mental hit list!

For Lunelle now, the simulation could fail; there was always the Safety Net to fall back on, anyway.

"Tsk, this really is quite troublesome! But these still unconfirmed conjectures will have to wait until the next simulation for verification."

"It seems even after surviving the initial scripted death, altering the fates of characters in the simulation is far more difficult than I imagined!"

Having roughly settled on the general direction for future simulations, Lunelle temporarily set aside simulation-related matters.

After all, although before this simulation started, Lunelle had carelessly claimed, "I have nothing left to lose," she never expected that after fully becoming a girl, she would no longer have to worry about losing any male characteristics due to low simulation ratings.

But upon seeing that bizarre [A → A+] talent on the settlement interface, even though she didn't really want to understand it, certain indescribable areas had transformed almost instantly—from a truly flat plain into a gently sloping mound.

This degree of physiological change once again dealt a devastating blow to Lunelle's already dwindling "male pride"!

Though Lunelle had indeed permanently lost her little friend, she could still delude herself by thinking that even without male features, as a member of the flat-chested committee, she at least lacked obvious female characteristics too, right?

So, rounding it off, didn't that basically mean she was still a boy?

But when "completely flat" turned into "small buds just beginning to peak," claiming to be flat-chested no longer felt quite accurate.

After this battle, even if Lunelle tried to argue she was still a boy in the future, the confidence and credibility of such a statement would have dropped by at least eighty percent!

"Tsk! Damn simulator, first stealing my little brother, and now starting to add 'burdens' in sneaky ways, huh?"

"Whatever, it's just an A+ anyway. At this level, I could still claim it's just well-developed pectoral muscles from diligent training... probably... still believable, right?"

Having forever left flat-chestedness behind thanks to the talent boosting a certain area to A+, Lunelle—clinging to her last shred of stubbornness—came up with another lame excuse that might barely pass muster.

"Sigh... never mind. It's getting late now. Time to tidy up, rest my eyes, and recover some mental energy. Even if it's not as good as deep sleep, it should still shorten the simulation cooldown a bit, right?"

Having successfully convinced herself she was still somewhat a boy, Lunelle deftly pulled another set of women's clothing from the wardrobe.

Huh? You ask why she's so skilled at wearing women's clothes if she's a boy?

How dare you!!!

Look, it's not like there's anyone else in this cramped little room anyway. If I wear women's clothes but no one sees me, doesn't that basically mean I'm not cross-dressing at all?

Yeah! If no one witnesses it, does it even count as cross-dressing?

Besides, the power's out now, and who knows when the water might stop too?

Though she could only make do with a cold shower without electricity, with Lunelle's current physical attributes—six times that of an adult man—there was no risk of catching a cold.

But just as Lunelle was washing up in the bathroom...

Knock knock knock!!!

An ill-timed knocking suddenly came from the front door, which Lunelle had barricaded with a cabinet.

Freshly bathed and about to wash her snow-soft skin, Lunelle heard the noise and assumed some clueless zombie had bumped into her door.

Thinking the barricade would hold, she didn't grasp the severity of the situation and simply ignored the strange sound.

But then a voice, unmistakably belonging to a certain someone, suddenly called out from outside.

"Hey, hey, hey? Is anyone in there?"

The instant Lunelle recognized the voice, she froze completely.

Lunelle: (⊙ˍ⊙)!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Oh no...

Could that person shouting outside my door really be my fourth wife, Kiana?
