Chapter 23 - An Angry Hod, a Confessing X (Part Two)

Nighttime. Inside the Inner Lobotomy Corporation—an Abnormality's space.

"…Anyway, I guess what happened is that I shattered one of my subordinate's sweet illusions and told her the truth."

X interlaced his fingers, speaking with visible unease.

"To be honest, seeing a girl who's usually so gentle and mild-mannered end up that hurt, that broken… it feels a bit too cruel."

"I don't know whether what I did was right or wrong… but from my understanding, I believe I was right."

"Does that really count as a confession?"

One Sin and Hundreds of Good Deeds shot X —who was lying on her thighs—a sideways glance.

"You don't even think it was a mistake yourself. How much 'sin' do you think there is in that for me to eat?"

She leaned down slightly, her voice drawing closer.

"Like we discussed before, letting someone drown in false sweetness for too long only makes them lose the will to face reality—and even the will to live."

"No matter how you look at it, that can't be considered a 'sin.'"

"…Is that so?"

"You really are…"

One Sin and Hundreds of Good Deeds sighed, lifting a hand to gently stroke the top of X 's head.

"Whenever it involves someone you're even a little close to, you immediately become soft."

Her fingertips were cool, yet they brought X a deep sense of reassurance.

"You don't want to see them hurt… heh. Where did the decisiveness and rationality go—the kind you had back when you made judgments together with me?"

"Well… there's nothing I can do about that…"

X replied helplessly.

"When you're facing a girl who's always so cheerful, who treats everyone around her with the utmost gentleness, it's really hard to make up your mind to be the villain who personally makes her cry."

He moved One Sin and Hundreds of Good Deeds' hand away from his eyes and looked into her pale golden gaze.

"If I put myself in her shoes, I'd personally choose to accept the cruel truth—but I can't use my own standards to demand the same of her."

"Because… maybe she doesn't need it?"

"But you did remind me of something…"

X reluctantly rubbed against the soft, fragrant thighs beneath his head one last time, then stood up cleanly, brushing nonexistent dust from his clothes.

"You're right—we can't let someone indulge in false sweetness for too long."

"Even if it's not for her own sake… even if it's only to keep her kind heart from being abused, I have to pull her back into reality."

"~"

Seeing X regain his confidence and motivation, One Sin and Hundreds of Good Deeds smiled gently as well.

She lifted the hem of her black nun's habit, preparing to rise gracefully with him.

But at the very moment she put strength into her toes, her body suddenly went slack without warning. She stumbled, lost her balance, and fell straight toward X .

"Ah!"

A short, startled cry escaped the lips of this usually calm and dignified Abnormality.

In a split second, X reacted on instinct—turning around and reaching out, he caught her soft body firmly in his arms, preventing her from meeting the cold floor.

"You can't even stand steady anymore?"

Seeing her rare clumsiness, X couldn't help but smile, trying to lighten the mood.

"Did you skip a meal? Or did lying on your own thighs for too long make your legs go numb?"

Yes—he had only meant it as a harmless joke.

Grrr—

A clear, unmistakable protest, obviously coming from someone's stomach, suddenly echoed through the quiet space.

The sound wasn't loud, but it was like a pebble dropped into still water, rippling outward.

"..."

At that sound, One Sin and Hundreds of Good Deeds stiffened instantly in X 's arms.

A captivating blush spread rapidly from her neck to the tips of her ears. Even her usually serene eyes dropped in panic, unable to meet the gaze of the friend holding her.

"…Sorry."

She whispered so softly it was barely audible, wishing she could bury her entire face into X 's chest.

"Uh…?"

X 's smile froze, his expression turning blank with surprise.

"Did those new employees not confess properly to you again today?"

He remembered clearly—he had definitely ordered plenty of Communication work today. And yet, she was still hungry…

"Well… if that's the case… then I guess it really could be because you didn't get enough to 'eat'…"

"That's on me. I should've emphasized that they had to confess sincerely…"

"But still… slacking off on the job deserves punishment!"

Grrr—

The only response was another, even more pitiful rumble from her stomach.

With One Sin and Hundreds of Good Deeds blushing fiercely, biting her lower lip and refusing to say another word, that sound of hunger was more embarrassing and awkward than any spoken answer could have been.

"Ah… this is…"

Even X , just listening, felt restless and flustered.

He quickly cleared his throat, trying to shift the topic and ease the tension.

"Th-then… to keep you from going hungry, I'll try making some real confessions to you first, Sin."

"Let me think… is there anything lately that's worth confessing…"

But after searching his mind carefully, X realized—

Lately, there really hadn't been anything he could call "guilt-ridden," anything that truly required confession…

Wait.

Actually… there was.

A thought flashed through his mind like lightning, and X 's expression instantly became strange.

"Ahem… this is a bit embarrassing to say, uh…"

The confidence he'd had just moments ago wavered, hesitation appearing on his face.

"It was probably yesterday… when you were asleep. And then… the way you looked—so defenseless, so unbelievably cute—I almost couldn't control myself…"

The moment the words left his mouth, X felt his face heat up as well. He hurriedly loosened his arms around her and even took half a step back, as if trying to draw a clear line between himself and his sinful thoughts.

But One Sin and Hundreds of Good Deeds' arms were still tightly wrapped around him—his attempt to pull away failed.

"This… this isn't all my fault!"

X blurted out in a panic.

"You're the one who keeps doing those things so naturally—those… those tempting little actions from time to time! That's right! You're partly at fault too!"

"Anyway… I'm confessing! I had improper thoughts about my friend!"

The more he spoke, the guiltier he felt. In the end, he clenched his heart, shut his eyes, and shouted like a man marching to his execution.

"We're clearly just friends, but my head was full of dirty, indecent thoughts back then! I'm sorry!"

As X finished his final confession, the Abnormality space once again fell into silence.

"..."

Dead silence.

A suffocating stillness, as if even the air itself had frozen.

X had only wanted to find a casual topic to fill One Sin and Hundreds of Good Deeds' stomach and ease the awkwardness.

He had no idea how heavy his heartfelt, shame-filled confession sounded to the one listening.

One Sin and Hundreds of Good Deeds, who had only intended to "try it and see," was also stunned when she felt the considerable amount of sin contained in X 's words.

She truly hadn't expected that this kind of "confession"… would actually contain so much sin.

Did that mean… that for X , harboring such thoughts about her was considered a "serious sin"?

If merely thinking such thoughts could generate so much sin, then if it went any further—

"Wait."

Her voice was soft, yet exceptionally clear.

She lifted her face from X 's warm chest, raised her head slightly, and looked at his tightly shut eyes, his lashes trembling faintly.

"You said… you have those kinds of thoughts about me?"

"Hm…?"

X answered uncertainly.

Not understanding what she meant, he still didn't dare open his eyes.

"Then what about this?"

Her tone took on a trace of something X had never heard before—something subtly seductive.

Her arms, cool and smooth like gentle snakes, slid upward from behind him and wrapped around his neck, pulling them even closer together.

Even with his eyes closed, X could clearly feel it—those soft, full curves pressed against his chest more tightly, more insistently than before.

Through layers of clothing, the astonishing warmth and elasticity were unmistakable, as if they might melt his heart entirely.

Feeling the fire rising in his lower abdomen, and with his already-weak self-control pushed to its limit, X 's reason finally snapped for a brief moment.

And then—he made a decision he might deeply regret in the future.

"Sin… don't do this…"

X opened his eyes, intending to push the beauty in his arms away.

But the motion of his arms suddenly changed—instead, he tightly wrapped them around One Sin and Hundreds of Good Deeds' slender waist.

"If you keep this up… I really might not be able to hold back…"

He lowered his head slightly, gazing into her eyes, his voice hoarse.

It sounded like a final warning—or perhaps a helpless plea.

But he received no response.

"..."

"..."

They stared into each other's eyes for a long time.

Time seemed to stretch endlessly. X could even see his own disheveled reflection in her pale golden pupils.

A dangerous, ambiguous tension filled the air, as if something might completely spiral out of control in the very next second.

In the end, X was the first to give in.

The fire in his eyes faded rapidly. Once forcibly suppressed, all that remained was embarrassment and frustration.

He looked away on his own initiative and forced a dry laugh.

"Ahaha… I was just joking along with what you said, Sin."

Immediately after, X released his grip as if burned, stumbling back a step.

"I still need to continue my exploration outside… let's talk about anything else later."

With that, X turned around in a panic, preparing to flee this Abnormality space that had thrown his mind into chaos.

He didn't dare look at her expression , afraid he might truly do something outrageous if his reason failed again.

But just as X turned his back to One Sin and Hundreds of Good Deeds—

Thump—

A soft yet resolute force slammed into him from behind. Caught completely off guard, X was knocked to the ground.

His back pressed tightly against her entire body—the warmth of her form in stark contrast with the cold floor beneath.

"…Let me be honest with you, my dear X ."

One Sin and Hundreds of Good Deeds' voice sounded by his ear.

"I've actually been holding it in for a long time—your habit of teasing me now and then, giving me a bit of satisfaction, but never fully satisfying me…"

Her arms slipped around his sides, holding him tightly and pinning him in place, the posture intimate and commanding.

"Sin… please… don't do this… I—I was wrong…"

X begged hastily, but he had underestimated the depth of emotion and resolve within the nun on top of him.

"If you hadn't touched me just now, everything would still be negotiable…"

Her warm breath brushed repeatedly against his sensitive ear, sending waves of tingling heat through him.

"But now… it's really hard for me to hold back too…"

Note: Sins are generally divided into three levels.

Level One: Trivial lies or minor mistakes that can be joked about in social settings.Level Two: More serious errors or faults shared only with one's closest friends. (The amount of sin in X 's confession falls into this level.)Level Three: Heinous sins that can never be revealed to anyone, destined to be buried with oneself forever.
