Chapter 62: Stomped in Public
Machi and Nobunaga were blocked outside the Four Violet Flames Formation, attacking the barrier simultaneously.
Nobunaga's sword struck the purple flame wall but couldn't advance an inch!
Machi's threads burned to ash the moment they touched it.
Both of their faces turned extremely ugly.
Meanwhile, Chrollo and the others, who had been hiding in the dark, stepped out.
They had intended to find Ronin's hidden helpers and surround him.
But now it seemed Ronin dared to wait alone in the desert because he had made even more formidable preparations.
The four figures maintaining the barrier were unreadable. No one knew where Ronin found them, but the barrier they created forced the Troupe to watch helplessly as Ronin dismantled Uvogin.
Chrollo clenched his fist.
He wondered if he could win against the current Ronin in a 1v1.
The answer was no.
He had no confidence.
Uvogin was one of the strongest frontal fighters in the Troupe. Even with a missing arm, his power was undeniable.
Ronin hadn't resorted to kiting with fire this time. He chose to clash with Uvogin head-on.
And he suppressed Uvogin completely.
This not only demonstrated his current strength but also served as a devastating psychological blow.
Trapping them outside a barrier to watch Uvogin being brutalized was a naked provocation and humiliation!
Feitan's narrowed eyes snapped open.
Rage surged through him. Although he usually disliked the big brute and enjoyed mocking him, Uvogin was still a companion who grew up with him in Meteor City.
"Yollik lliw I!" Feitan spoke in reverse, venting his fury.
Franklin's choice was simpler.
He popped the tips of his fingers off. Countless Nen bullets bombarded the barrier.
No matter how strong a barrier was, it had a limit. If they hit it hard enough, it would break!
Franklin believed this firmly!
Inside the barrier.
Uvogin's other arm flew into the air.
His eyes dimmed. As Ronin tore out his intestines, he knew he had no chance.
In that moment, his choice was to end his own life!
Yes.
Uvogin wanted to commit suicide.
Since leaving Meteor City and seeing the wider world, he had learned of a special power.
Power that could only be unleashed after death.
Post-Mortem Nen.
It was a form of Vow and Limitation.
Uvogin's Vow—his obsession—was to kill Ronin. For this, he was willing to pay with his life. This was his final restriction.
But he failed.
The arm he raised to crush his own heart was stripped from his body by Ronin, who was faster.
Still the One-Finger Nukite.
Losing his last arm, a doubt crept into Uvogin's mind: Even if I die now, can my armless corpse really generate enough power to kill Ronin?
When that doubt appeared, Uvogin knew he had utterly lost.
Lightning danced around Uvogin. The One-Finger Nukite became a scalpel, dissecting his body.
Thighs, chest, heart, eyes... until finally, that ruined head was plucked off by Ronin.
Blood and body parts scattered across the ground. The Lightning Chakra on Ronin faded.
His breathing was heavy, but his eyes were extraordinarily bright.
Holding Uvogin's head, he turned to look at the furious Troupe members outside the barrier.
A massive smile bloomed on Ronin's bloodstained face.
He tossed the head gently into the air. As it landed, Ronin's Nen-infused foot stomped down heavily.
Just like Uvogin had stomped on his father's head that rainy night, Ronin crushed Uvogin's head!
And he did it right in front of the Phantom Troupe!
Spiders feel pain too, right? Probably...
They should have known a day like this would come for them!
More Troupe members attacked the barrier. Finally, cracks began to appear.
Ronin inside the barrier knew the truth.
The Shadow Clones couldn't hold on any longer.
Franklin was right; sustained attacks depleted the clones' Chakra faster.
But Ronin didn't care.
His aura vanished again. He formed seals. Earth Style: Super Light-Weight Rock Technique activated.
Under the stunned gazes of Chrollo and the others, Ronin slowly floated into the air.
"Is this Ronin's true trump card?" Chrollo's expression remained flat.
Flight.
A very special ability. If it was agile enough, it was sufficient for survival.
Every time they faced Ronin, he seemed to have an endless supply of unique abilities.
Chrollo felt strange. Ronin was the type of opponent he hated most. No matter how much he planned, variables always appeared in the next encounter.
He preferred to strike only when victory was assured, when everything was in his grasp.
He hated gambling on luck.
Crack! Crack!
Amidst continuous shattering sounds, the Four Violet Flames Formation finally broke under the Troupe's assault.
Several figures rushed toward the four corners where the casters stood.
But the four figures acted in unison. They smashed round balls onto the ground. Smoke billowed up, enveloping them.
The Troupe members charged into the smoke, but their attacks hit nothing. It was as if the four people had vanished into thin air.
Simultaneously, Franklin shifted his aim. Nen bullets soared into the sky, targeting Ronin.
But the ascending Ronin had already cast another Jutsu.
Ronin opened his mouth, converting Chakra into Earth nature. He spat out a mass of clay which formed into a massive golem in mid-air.
Earth Style: Golem Technique.
A jutsu created by the Second Tsuchikage, possessing both offensive and defensive capabilities!
The golem wasn't affected by the lightening jutsu. The moment it appeared, it shielded Ronin and plummeted downward.
Franklin's bullets hit the golem but couldn't tear it apart in time.
Instead, the falling golem raised a massive fist!
BOOM!
An earthquake-like crash echoed as the golem landed, shaking the entire desert floor.
