Chapter 9 - Chapter 8 — Testing Limits

The morning sun streamed through the window, and John Bloodford already felt the residual energy from yesterday's extended training pulsing through his body. His senses were sharper, every vibration in the room noticeable, every minor flow of energy detectable. Today, he decided, he would test his limits.

SYSTEM: "John Bloodford, recommended training: Energy Channel Optimization, Flow Control, Physical Synchronization. Base Power Level: Stage 4.8/5. Potential for Stage 5: achievable with intensive practice."

John stretched, feeling the refined rhythm of his muscles. He could feel the energy channels inside him as clearly as his own heartbeat. The capsule floated beside him, humming softly, ready to synchronize.

Stage 5… Perfect Body… I need to push further.

Training in the Real World

John stepped outside into the quiet streets. The city seemed ordinary to anyone else, but to him, the hidden energy flows wove through buildings, roads, and even the ambient air. Each step was deliberate, each movement precise. He raised his hand, focusing, and small arcs of energy traced between his fingers.

Today, he wasn't going to move just small objects—he wanted to feel his energy interacting with the environment.

He lifted a small metal cart nearby. It hovered slightly, trembling, then steadied under his control. His hands pulsed, guiding the energy as if it were an extension of his own nervous system.

SYSTEM: "Energy Controller stage: 97%. Neural interface stability: 98%. Physical-Environmental synchronization: 75%."

John felt exhilaration and a touch of fear. The energy was strong, responsive—but even minor mistakes could disrupt his focus. He concentrated, allowing his senses to expand, feeling the flows not just in objects, but in the ground beneath him, the wind around him, the city itself.

First Combat Simulation

The system projected a virtual simulation around him—a set of combat dummies, each flowing with faint energy patterns similar to what a real opponent might possess. John focused on his movements, combining physical strikes with energy manipulation.

He stepped forward, striking a dummy. His fist moved in perfect alignment with energy arcs flowing from his fingertips, generating a small shockwave on impact. Another dummy floated toward him, energy flowing from its core. He concentrated, splitting the streams of his own energy into multiple threads, intercepting the dummy midair.

SYSTEM: "Flow Control: 83%. Multi-stream energy manipulation: 76%. Base Power Level: Stage 4.9/5."

John's body moved instinctively, every motion guided by a combination of instinct, training, and the neural interface. Sweat ran down his face, but he felt alive in a way he never had before.

I'm pushing further than yesterday… I can feel the difference.

Hints of Hidden Forces

While practicing, John sensed a faint ripple through the city—an energy pattern not produced by the environment or simulation. It was distant, subtle, but unmistakably artificial, and highly controlled.

Someone, or something… is out there. Watching. Testing.

He couldn't see anyone, but the ripple made him instinctively tighten his focus. His energy field expanded slightly, testing the surrounding currents. The pattern vanished as quickly as it appeared, leaving only a faint trace.

The world isn't empty. There are people, families, forces… manipulating energy, moving unseen.

The thought reminded him again of his name: Bloodford. It wasn't just a name—it was a legacy, a lineage connected to power, perhaps to secrets he hadn't discovered yet.

Meditation and Integration

Exhausted from training and combat simulation, John returned home. He sat cross-legged, eyes closed, focusing inward. The capsule floated above, pulsing softly, syncing with his neural interface.

SYSTEM: "Energy calibration complete. Base Power Level: Stage 4.95/5. Perfect Body stage: imminent with continued intensive practice."

John visualized the Dyson Sphere again, integrating the energy patterns he had felt in the city with the schematics in his mind. Tiny sparks traced paths between the Sphere's modules, resonating faintly with the ambient energy around him.

Every movement, every breath, every pulse of energy… it all connects. The city, the Sphere, me… it's all one system waiting to be understood.

He smiled faintly, feeling a surge of determination. Today he had pushed his body, energy, and perception further than ever. Tomorrow, he would go even further. He would awaken fully—not just as John, but as John Bloodford, cultivator, anomaly, and future master of energies.

The path is long, and the world hides its secrets—but I will uncover them. No matter what it takes.

The capsule hovered silently beside him, a constant reminder of the journey ahead. John knew that the real challenges were only beginning, and that hidden families, secret organizations, and distant civilizations would soon begin to reveal themselves—though he was ready to face them, step by step.
