Chapter 29 - Ekko!

///"Hey!" Little Man yelled at her. "No fair. That pipe was in the way."

"Blaming it on the pipe, Little Man?" Powder chuckled at him. "I could do it."

"I did it better though."

"Only until you fell." He looked back at her eye to eye, only slightly which made her laugh. Little Man kept giving her funny back and forth looks for a couple of months now. He mainly looked away from girls, so she took it as a growing into a man thing. He probably had them, just like she had growing into woman things. Just as soon as he did that though, his eyes would drag back to them. Look at them, then don't look at them. It was funny. "It's okay, Buster, nobody saw you fall. They all went in. Nobody to impress and I won't tell."

"Yeah, I guess that's good." He stood again and tried his fighting move again.

This was getting boring though. "Do you want to go jump on the beds?"

He stopped his fighting move. "Oh yeah, let's go do that."

They both jumped up and down on a bed that was the furthest away, for the best chance not to get caught the longest.

"Vi is taking me on the heist tomorrow," she told him. "I've been practicing with her. She says I'm ready."

"But you can't even throw a real punch," he complained. "What's she thinking?"

"It's our first big stealing thing. I think Vi wants us to start doing it more," she said.

"You could steal so much from Piltover," he agreed, his voice winding down from the jumping.

Hers was winding down too. "Yeah. I can do this, or I'll get left behind." She jumped harder. "I don't want to be left behind."

"It's not so bad," Ekko said. "I can't constantly be with Benzo. I wouldn't want to constantly be with Benzo. I'd be working 24/7 if I did that." He started to jump harder to go higher too. "I'd be better to take, I could even be the one to keep giving tips."

They both jumped higher and higher-///

"Vi!" Powder popped straight up in her arms and patted her cheeks in her hands. "Why are you so old?"

At least her power problems fixed themselves for her arms, neck, and legs. "Let's get her taken care of."

"Taken care of?" Powder asked.

"Is this the personality that has the vaccine?" Caitlyn asked before anything happened.

"It's memory, not personality!" Ekko yelled roughly at her.

"No." It was hard to do. Didn't anyone see that? But it was the right thing to do.

Powder looked around. "Who is everyone?" She gasped at Ekko. "Ekko, what happened? You are old too. Oh. No way." She pinched herself. "That hurt. Did I slip into another dimension? Ekko?"

"Oh, Powder." Being friends with Ekko, of course she'd jump to that right past the dream part. Yeah, Vi could see a lot of hurt in Ekko, but Powder had to go. There wasn't a choice. By the time the Firelights did think of something to do with Jinx, Jinx would already be long gone. No. When she remembered her sister, and she was in her right mind, then Jinx was loyal. To her.

To Ekko? They were good friends, but it's not like he even lived with them like Mylo and Claggor. He was just that silly smart kid that helped out Benzo.

Although. He was there when . . . apparently, Jinx was trying to take her own life. But. "I really will visit her daily. If she sees me, she's bound to remember too."

Ekko didn't say anything. He stopped even glaring.

"Vi? There are so many enforcers around us," Powder mentioned as they gathered around her.

Vi sat her up. "It'll be okay, just trust me, Pow-Pow."

"I wouldn't," Ekko chimed in the background.

"Vi? Um?" So far, Powder had remained not taking off in a run. "Why are they getting handcuffs on me? Vi? What's going on?"

"Let's step off the ship, Powder," Vi insisted. "Walk with me, okay?"

"Uh? No," Powder's eyes left hers and fled to Ekko's. "Any advice for surviving alternate dimensions, because we definitely found one, Buster."

An enforcer grabbed her rougher. She had to get going. "Let me go! Let me go! Vi! Vi, the enforcers have me! Vi?"

///"Violet, help me, please!"///

"It'll be okay, Violet," Caitlyn said to her. "Let's go."

"I don't belong here, what's going on?! Let me go! Let me go! Ekko, help! What happened to us?! Ekkooooo!"

Ekko? She's reaching. "Let's go, Cait."

"Ekko! Ekko, reverse this thing!"

"There are some procedures to extract the magic from her if she doesn't cooperate," Caitlyn told her. "If she cooperates then, it won't be needed."

"That's fine, but it can only come from Jinx," Vi told her. "It'll be a poison from any of the other sides because of the power levels."

"Ekko! Ekko! Ekko!"

She wasn't even bothering with her name anymore? Yeah, of course, because to her mind, I just fed her to the enforcers. She has no one left to believe in except her little friend. At least this wasn't Jinx, she could handle a little kid's power easily. Anyone could. "You." She gestured to her doctor. "You are coming too."

When he was starting to get taken, poor Cake started to cry. She was still overwhelmed by her mother who was sleeping and sick now. She wouldn't stop and no one else could touch her. Life's tough. Sorry. She would keep her mother there though, she needed her. Besides, she could talk to her sister, and that was all Shields had been, a talker. She needed the medicine guy.

Vi pointed back further to the containers of her medicine and the potions. "Those boxes too. She needs one a day to keep the vaccine going. Leave about 100 behind." That should be enough for the other people they needed to balance out. If Ekko needed more, he could come ask.

They left the ship with the doctor, the magic, the meds, and with a kicking and screaming Powder in tow.
