Chapter 399 - Chapter 399: The Two Hardest Moves to Dodge in the World: Zero-Frame Startup and Infinite Wind-Up

The moment Miyamoto Tokima finished saying, "Sure," he immediately raised his hand and shot.

The motion was incredibly smooth, all in one fluid movement.

Reo Mibuchi was stunned.

Wait, didn't he say sure? Why the hell was that a zero-frame startup?

By the time Reo Mibuchi reacted, he realized he could no longer jump.

In that instant, Reo Mibuchi understood what move Miyamoto Tokima had used.

"Vo... [Void]?!"

Reo Mibuchi's eyes widened, completely unable to believe it.

Because even when he used [Void] himself, he still had to charge it up. And when he shot, anyone paying close attention could notice the obvious hitch in his movement.

But Miyamoto Tokima's [Void] had no charge-up or wind-up at all. It started instantly, with zero frames. Not only was the shot fast, it was also unbelievably smooth, without the slightest hitch!

After all, there were only two kinds of moves in the world that were hardest to dodge.

One was an invincible move with an absurdly long wind-up, and the other was a zero-frame startup!

Against Miyamoto Tokima's zero-frame [Void], Reo Mibuchi could not react at all.

Swish!

After the basketball went in, Miyamoto Tokima smiled at Reo Mibuchi and said:

"How was it? Did you get anything from that?"

Reo Mibuchi froze for a moment, then immediately understood what Miyamoto Tokima meant.

He was teaching him!

"Sorry, Master, I still didn't quite understand it. Could you do it again next possession?"

Miyamoto Tokima nodded with a smile.

"Of course."

Nearby, Seijuro Akashi listened to their conversation, already burning with anger.

He had never expected that his own team would have two damn moles!

And they were not even hidden moles. They were openly defecting right in front of him!

Seijuro Akashi took a deep breath, then turned to Eikichi Nebuya.

"Eikichi."

Hearing him, Eikichi Nebuya turned his head and met Seijuro Akashi's gaze.

Eikichi Nebuya instantly shivered and said:

"Akashi, Miyamoto Tokima may be my master, but I'll still give this match everything I have!"

"I want to win the championship too!"

Only then did Seijuro Akashi nod and say:

"Good. Get ready."

After saying that, Seijuro Akashi said nothing more and prepared to receive the ball and attack.

Eikichi Nebuya was completely confused by Seijuro Akashi's words. After passing the ball to him, he ran toward the frontcourt.

Seijuro Akashi advanced slowly while calculating something in his mind.

Right now, he had activated his Animal Instinct, and after doing so, his eyes had also evolved.

To be exact, the red eye that belonged to the primary personality had changed.

As the secondary personality, he could normally only use the ability of the golden eye, which was [Emperor Eye].

But after activating his Animal Instinct, he could use the ability of the red eye!

And that ability was to make passes that drew out a person's potential!

In other words, it allowed others to enter the pseudo-Zone!

However, even after activating Animal Instinct, the secondary personality Seijuro Akashi could only let two people enter the pseudo-Zone.

But that was enough!

Given the current situation, Seijuro Akashi had already decided which two people he would send into the pseudo-Zone.

The first was Eikichi Nebuya. If Atsushi Murasakibara had not left the court, Seijuro Akashi might have had to think about it a little.

But now that Atsushi Murasakibara was out, letting Eikichi Nebuya enter the pseudo-Zone would make him an absolute weapon in the paint!

The second was Kotaro Hayama.

He would let Kotaro Hayama enter the pseudo-Zone and attack Makoto Hanamiya, focusing on overwhelming the weak with strength.

As for why he was not choosing Reo Mibuchi, that was purely because the person guarding Reo Mibuchi was Miyamoto Tokima.

Even if Reo Mibuchi actually entered the Zone, Seijuro Akashi did not think he could score against Miyamoto Tokima!

After making his decision, Seijuro Akashi immediately began to act.

His [Emperor Eye] remained locked on Dicky Anthony and Miyamoto Tokima.

Seijuro Akashi dribbled continuously, then used one final rhythm change to send Dicky Anthony falling to the floor.

After breaking into the paint, he immediately passed the basketball to Eikichi Nebuya.

The moment Eikichi Nebuya caught the ball, he felt unbelievably comfortable, as though his next attack would score no matter what.

So Eikichi Nebuya did not hesitate. He turned around and went straight for a dunk!

After possession changed.

Miyamoto Tokima used [Void] in front of Reo Mibuchi once again.

Reo Mibuchi also tried to find a way to stop it.

But it was simply too fast. Reo Mibuchi could not react at all.

Over the next few possessions, Seijuro Akashi kept feeding the ball to Kotaro Hayama and Eikichi Nebuya.

After several consecutive possessions, Eikichi Nebuya and Kotaro Hayama lived up to expectations and successfully entered the pseudo-Zone!

Crackle!

Crackle!

Lightning suddenly flashed in both of their eyes.

Seeing this, Shuzo Nijimura murmured:

"They entered the pseudo-Zone?"

Eikichi Nebuya in the pseudo-Zone really was a weapon in the paint. As long as Atsushi Murasakibara was not there, he was the true ruler under the basket.

Kentaro Seto already had a hard time defending Eikichi Nebuya in his normal state, let alone Eikichi Nebuya after entering the pseudo-Zone!

Makoto Hanamiya was the same. He simply could not stop Kotaro Hayama.

However, Kotaro Hayama could not withstand Makoto Hanamiya's trash talk either.

After just a few minutes of switching onto him in the second quarter, Kotaro Hayama's entire face had already turned red.

It looked as though he might erupt in the next second.

Even though Kotaro Hayama poured all his anger onto Makoto Hanamiya and forcefully scored on him again and again, Makoto Hanamiya still kept grinning and roasting him as he followed.

This also let Kotaro Hayama experience Seijuro Akashi's feelings from the first quarter.

Eiji Shirogane noticed this as well, so he immediately called a timeout.

After the Rakuzan players came off the court, he spoke right away:

"Kotaro, switch positions with Chihiro."

Kotaro Hayama clenched his teeth tightly, his fists balled up. Still fired up, he immediately protested:

"Coach! I don't want to..."

The next moment, Eiji Shirogane cut him off.

"Follow the arrangement!"

Kotaro Hayama gritted his teeth again, but in the end, he nodded.

He really had gotten carried away. His mind was filled with nothing but the thought of crushing Makoto Hanamiya.

He even found himself missing the Makoto Hanamiya from middle school.

Back then, Makoto Hanamiya had been dirty, but as long as you paid attention, it was not too much of a problem.

And back then, Makoto Hanamiya still had to watch out for the referees. When he was somewhere the referee could see, he would restrain himself a little.

But the current Makoto Hanamiya was completely different!

He no longer needed to pay attention to the referee at all. He just followed people around and roasted them nonstop!

In the current Makoto Hanamiya's dictionary, the word restraint did not exist at all!!!

It was even more damaging than those damn dirty tricks!!!
