Seeing the items in the starter pack, he got confused as he was unable to understand the gibberish except for the blood and bones mentioned for assimilation.
Then his eyes widened, as he saw the last item.."the veil!"
Immediately upon seeing it, his face began to contort. He started smiling, the arc of his smile reaching his eyes.
His right side tried to control the smile while the left side stretched even wider, if somebody saw him now, they will be horrified, as if they had seen a demon.
When Azrael's dual personality is mentioned, people think one is happy and easy-going, and the other cold and morally ambiguous.
But that is far from the truth. He doesn't have a normal dual-personality disorder; his two personalities are simultaneously present.
Normally, there is a switch or a trigger that initiates a change between personalities, but in Azrael's case, that is not how it works.
He doesn't need a switch. Both his personalities are present and operating at the same time.
If one doesn't look carefully, they might not notice a change in how he carries himself.
But if someone observed closely, there will be inconsistencies and abrupt changes in his tone while he is speaking.
As there is no trigger or switch, it appears abrupt to the people in conversation with him.
That's what is happening now, when he sees "the veil,"
Both his personalities are so overjoyed that they start losing control, and his face begins to contort.
Most of the time, they are in understanding with each other.
The cold one appears occasionally, and the easy-going one leads normal life.
Even though both of the personalities are different, they share fundamental similarities— they both prioritise Azrael's interests, because at the end of day they are just one person.
Now with the help of "the veil," they will finally be able to express seperately, something they never expected would happen.
"System, how do I access the system space to get the veil?"
[Just think about retrieving the veil in your mind and you will have it.]
Azrael does that, and with a whoosh...
Suddenly, a thin cloth that is almost transparent sits on his palm. If viewed from a certain angle, it becomes invisible.
"System how do I use this?" Azrael asks in a hurry.
[Just place the veil on top of your head, it will be bound to you forever and you will be able to use it.]
Azrael nods, and places it on his head.
The veil begins to expand and covers his whole body, making him look like he is trapped in a sac.
After a while, it starts to look like it is being absorbed into his body, and then it completely disappears.
Azrael doesn't feel any change and appears confused.
Suddenly,
A beam of light escapes his forehead and starts to materialise in front of him.
It appears to be a small boy with snowy white hair and clear blue eyes that seem to glow in light. His gaze is quiet but unnervingly focused.
And the most shocking thing is—he looks just like Azrael!
At first the original Azrael doesn't realise it. Then it hits him..
And he starts laughing..
"You..you are Azrael! ....haha haha!"
"you are Azrael too," the white-haired boy says calmly with a very light smile that barely counts as one.
"Yes..yess ..haha.." The original Azrael keeps laughing in joy.
A few minutes pass, both are still looking at each other in silence.
They have so much to say, especially the original Azrael, but words aren't needed between them as they know each other the most.
The original Azrael speaks,
"We have to decide how to address each other. Two of us shouldn't be named just Azrael."
The white-hair boy nods,
"Call me, Master white! "
"You will be Azrael." He says with a stoic face.
"Master White.. huh, okay so from now on you are "white" and I will be Azrael."
They decide that easily—no arguments needed. It's just a name for distinction between them. And they both know that ultimately they are a single person called Azrael.
As for why, Master white opted to lose the name,
it's because it has always been like this.
Azrael leads the normal life and Master white works in the shadows, it will be the same in this new life.
Now that this is over—
Master white calls out:
"System!"
[Yes, master white.]
"It works," master white nods to himself.
"So we both can operate the system?" Azrael asks.
[Yes, I consider the both of you as a single entity, so you both can access me. Although that is not true for other people unless you tell them, they won't be able to distinguish between the two of you.]
[The veil doesn't just materialises your other personality it has many other functions. Try thinking about "the veil" and you will learn all its uses.]
Both of them nod, and begin going through the functions.
After a while—
They both stare at each other and say nothing.
"Isn't this too powerful." Azrael comments.
Master White nods.
In summary, the primary function of the veil is to allow both personalities a medium to be present separately at the same time.
One occupies the body, the other will materialise how master white is right now.
Secondly, it allows them to disguise themselves as anyone. With a clear mental image, they can become anyone.
The third function is, it can distort information—layer of existence, abilities, age, name and many other things.
If anyone is checking their information through some form of divination, they will only be able to perceive what they want them to see.
These are the basic abilities available now.
As they elevate their state of existence more functions will be unlocked.
Both remain silent.
"I guess this is what an ultimate item is." Master white comments.
"Hmm." Azrael just nods.
"System!" Azrael suddenly calls out.
"How can "white" access this body?"
Yes, Azrael won't call him "master white" that is how others will address him. He will just be referring to him as "white."
[Master white just has to think about occupying the body, and you should not resist, then he will be take over the body and you will materialize.]
After hearing that—
Master white tries to take over the body and Azrael doesn't resist.
Moments later—
The body's hair, eyes and complexion shifts and takes the appearance of Master white and Azrael materializes in front of him.
After exchanging the body a few more times, the excitement finally dies down, Azrael takes the body, and master white take the materialized form.
Then Azrael asks the question that has been bothering them for a while now,
"System, why can't we understand anything from the other items in the starter package?"

Author's note : when both of the personalities are present at the same time, the system will address each one individually.
But at the same time, if it refers to Azrael as "you." Then it is talking to the one who is occupying the body.
