"Are you really the Knight of Divine Punishment?"
Billy couldn't help but ask for the third time, his expression still filled with disbelief.
"Yes, I am!"
Finney replied impatiently. Although Billy's expression was amusing, he was getting annoyed by being asked so many times. So, seeing Billy about to speak, he said directly, "About this, believe it if you want, or just pretend I'm not!"
Billy hesitated for a moment, then asked in a low voice, "What about your armor? And the dragon from yesterday?"
"You think I'd bring them to school?!"
Finney looked at Billy like he was an idiot.
"Uh!"
Billy scratched his head, thinking that made sense, but he still couldn't completely believe that Finney was the Knight of Divine Punishment. He couldn't help but ask, "Can I see your armor and the dragon after school?"
"No!"
Finney knew what Billy was thinking; he wanted to see it for himself.
"Why?"
Billy began to doubt again.
"Because I'm busy!"
Finney glanced at Billy, and seeing the various expressions on his face—surprise, disbelief, confusion, and complexity—he couldn't help but laugh. He said again, "Alright, alright, I'll let you see it when I get the chance."
"Really?"
Billy asked excitedly, "When?"
"We'll see how things go this weekend,"
Finney replied after thinking for a moment.
Billy was arguably his best friend from university. The loneliness he experienced on Vormir for the past six months had made him cherish these friends even more, which was why he didn't mind letting Billy know about this.
"That's a deal!"
Billy was full of anticipation. Only now did he begin to believe that Finney was indeed the Divine Punishment Knight. If he was just teasing him, he would be furious.
"So what happened with the aliens in New York yesterday? Were they really invading?"
Before class started, Billy asked Finney in a low voice, curious. Although the reports were conflicting, no one knew as much as Finney, who was directly involved.
"Yeah, some alien wanted to rule the Earth. I couldn't stand it, so I beat him up and blew up their mothership."
"That's awesome!"
Billy's face lit up with excitement, as if he were the one who did it.
"Who's that burly guy in the red cape with Iron Man? Is he your friend?" Billy continued to ask. At this moment, he suddenly felt that it wouldn't be so bad if Finney really was a knight in shining armor; he could get information that many people didn't know.
"Do you know Norse mythology?" Finney asked.
"The one with Odin and Zeus?"
Billy answered, looking confused.
"Odin is right, but Zeus is from Greek mythology!" Finney looked at Billy speechlessly and said with disdain, "Please don't say you study languages in the future."
They need to understand history to study and translate various documents, and even a normal person wouldn't easily confuse the two.
Billy replied nonchalantly, "They're all gods, but none of them are as powerful as God. Why are you asking?"
"Alright, do you know Thor?"
Finney abandoned the idea of making Billy guess and asked directly.
"You're not saying that person is Thor, are you?" Billy seemed to realize something and asked in shock.
"Yes!"
Finney nodded.
"How could that be? Isn't that a figure from mythology?" Billy's jaw dropped in astonishment.
"The world is like this, aliens are falling from the sky, and you're still worried about this little thing?" Finney looked at Billy with disdain.
"But…but…"
Billy's expression was worried.
"What's wrong?"
Finney asked, puzzled by Billy's expression.
"Does God exist too?" Billy looked at Finney with concern and asked, "I've made so many oaths in His name, will He remember them all, Finney? Are you close to God?"
"…"
Finney sighed, rubbing his forehead.
"They're not the kind of gods you imagine. To be precise, they're more like aliens who came to Earth a long time ago and left behind myths. As for God, I don't know him, and I'm not even sure if he exists."
Finney explained to Billy, who breathed a sigh of relief, and then continued discussing Thor: "That guy is Thor! No wonder so many people can see him and generate electricity."
"But that hammer is so small! I thought it was a meter-long hammer, like a paladin's!"
"Maybe its original owner was a woman!"
Finney thought for a moment and said. Thor's hammer was originally Hela's weapon, and its small and exquisite design might be due to that.
"What about that big green guy?"
Billy continued to ask curiously. He had so many questions he wanted answered: "I remember you went to see him before."
"His name is Hulk, he's my friend, but he was controlled by that invading alien yesterday."
Thinking of Hulk, Finney was a little worried. Last night, Tony had informed him that Banner had been found and returned, and Loki's control had disappeared.
However, he was deeply affected by this incident. After all, besides the aliens, a large portion of New York's destruction yesterday was caused by the battle between Hulk, Thor, and Tony.
In fact, if Hulk hadn't clearly looked different from the Chitauri, he probably would have been mistaken for an invading alien. Even so, most people still considered Hulk the enemy.
This battle in New York wasn't as grand as in the original storyline, and there were no politicians launching nuclear missiles to rally the people of New York and the Avengers together.
What left the deepest impression was Finney and his Blue-Eyes White Dragon.
After disappearing for half a year, his reappearance was to resist the alien invasion and save Earth. Coupled with his mysterious and unknown identity, more and more people became Finney's admirers.
It could be said that the current situation is as if the entire popularity of the Avengers in the original storyline has been concentrated on Finney alone.
"Are you and Tony Stark really friends?"
Billy was like a curious child, asking endless questions. Finney soon started to get a headache, so she said, "You can ask a maximum of three more questions. After that, I'm not going to ask any more today. Think it over before you speak!"
"Why?"
Billy's eyes widened in confusion.
"The first one!" Finney replied expressionlessly, "Because I'm too lazy to keep answering you!"
"That counts?" Billy was taken aback, a look of regret on his face.
"The second one!"
Finney looked at Billy, who was covering his mouth with his hand, and couldn't help but laugh, "Of course it counts!"
After the first two questions, Billy clearly didn't dare to speak carelessly. He wanted to say something, but at least he had to finish asking the third question first. So, after hesitating for a long time, he finally asked, "Will you always protect the Earth like this?" Finney paused, the smile slowly fading from her face. After a long silence, she sighed and answered, "Perhaps!"
