Chapter 165 - Chapter 167 This is Hydra!

The simplicity of this operation far exceeded Finney's expectations, or rather, the Mind Scepter was more powerful than he had imagined. He wondered what Thanos was thinking, willing to give it to Loki.

The Mind Scepter's control was unique; it didn't change a person's original state or abilities. Therefore, even though Finney controlled everyone, the base didn't experience any problems.

If there was any difference between Hydra and S.H.I.E.L.D. in their operations

, Finney's view was that Hydra could basically do everything S.H.I.E.L.D. could do, and it could also do things S.H.I.E.L.D. couldn't.

  This was Hydra!

Whitehall's efficiency was unexpectedly high. Just the next day, all the information about Jia Ying and Carl Johnson was presented to Finney and Skye.

Looking at the records in the documents, Skye felt a pang of sadness. She hadn't expected her parents to have endured so much suffering.

  "Where are they now?"

Skye asked, glaring angrily at Whitehall after finishing the documents.

Because she was under control, Whitehall didn't mind Skye's attitude and respectfully replied, "I didn't expect them to be alive, so it will take some time to investigate and find them."

"Go then, find them as soon as possible, but it's best not to expose yourself yet,"

Finney instructed from the side. After watching Whitehall leave, she turned to the heartbroken Skye and comforted her, "It's alright, no matter what, they're still alive, and we're here to help them now!"

  "Yes!"

Skye nodded, wiping away her tears, her heart filled with an even stronger desire to see her parents and rescue them.

Skye's mother was hiding in the territory of the Inhumans, living in seclusion and difficult to locate, but Skye's father had been secretly working in the shadows for years, though quite discreetly, at least leaving traces.

A week later, Whitehall sent news that they had found Carl Johnson's trail.

They also discovered that the Inhumans seemed to have sent an undercover agent, a woman named Lena, who was currently working in the research lab.

Finney vaguely remembered this Reina; she seemed to be an Inhuman as well, though her body mutated after transformation, but her abilities were quite impressive—

  foresight .

Unfortunately, Finney figured even the Ancient One, who possessed the Time Stone, couldn't see the system's future, so Reina's ability was probably inferior to the Time Stone's, and he wasn't particularly interested in her.

Regarding the news about Karl Johnson, Finney hesitated slightly before not immediately informing Skye, instead heading alone to the location Whitehall had given him:

a dirty, dilapidated, and clearly unprofessional clinic.

It was afternoon, and the clinic wasn't open. According to Whitehall's information, he knew the clinic wouldn't open until evening,

as its patients were mostly low-level gangsters who didn't have the money for proper hospitals.

Finney scanned his surroundings and saw several menacing thugs watching him from a distance. The area was a mixed bag; he'd encountered two thieves in just ten minutes.

As dusk fell, after dealing with the third wave of thugs, Finney finally saw a figure slowly approaching the clinic.

His white coat was somewhat dirty and disheveled, his hair was greasy and looked like it hadn't been washed for days, his expression was numb, and his eyes were lifeless; he looked like a颓废 (颓废 is a difficult word to translate directly, but it implies a state of decadence, listlessness, and a sense of being颓废) middle-aged man.

  "Dr. Carl Johnson?"

Finney stepped forward and greeted him.

Carl Johnson glanced at Finney, and upon seeing Finney's clean clothes and handsome appearance, a slight surprise flashed in his eyes, but he didn't ask anything further, simply saying calmly,

"If you're looking to see a doctor, we're not open yet. Come back in half an hour!"

"I'm not here for treatment," Finney shook his head, looked at Carl Johnson, and slowly said, "I have something I want to talk to you about."

"Kid, I don't know what you want to talk about, but I don't have time. If you're not going to see a doctor, then get lost!"

Carl Johnson replied impatiently as he opened the clinic door.

"Don't you want to talk about your daughter?"

Upon hearing this, Carl Johnson's body stiffened, then he whirled around, his large, filthy hands instantly reaching for Finney's neck.

But if Finney were to be caught, she'd rather die than let him grab her.

Taking a slight step back to dodge Carl Johnson's attack, Finney frowned and continued, "Calm down, I just want to talk to you."

Unfortunately, having experienced the loss of his wife and children, Carl Johnson was also mentally unstable. He completely ignored Finney's words, continuing his attack with a crazed expression, while growling,

"Daisy, my Daisy, do you know where she is?!"

Looking at Carl Johnson's state, Finney sighed, secretly glad she hadn't brought Skye along. If Skye were present, Carl probably wouldn't have gone insane.

Carl Johnson might be a powerful, ruthless, and insane doctor in this area, but to Finney, his strength was nowhere near comparable. In a direct comparison, he was probably only worth a few Chitauri soldiers!

Even if ten or a hundred came, they wouldn't pose any threat to him.

  "Stop, shut up, come inside!"

Finney was too lazy to even lift a finger, worried about accidentally hurting him, so he simply used the 'Golden Grand Evolution Technique' to forcibly order him into the clinic.

Finney followed him in, glancing at the messy clinic. All the equipment was scattered haphazardly, and there were piles of blood on the operating table. It was difficult to even find a place to sit.

"Calm down, listen to me first!"

Finney didn't release Karl Johnson from his control, keeping his body stiff, and then said, "Your daughter is fine now!"

Although he couldn't control his body, Karl Johnson's expression was very agitated. He tried hard to open his mouth to ask something, but limited by the 'Golden Grand Evolution Technique,' he couldn't utter a single word.

"Don't worry, I'll bring her to you."

Seeing Carl Johnson's barely contained excitement, Finney explained first before asking, "She already knows about your situation, and I'm here so you can learn about her too."

Hearing this, Carl Johnson calmed down a bit, but his eyes were still full of excitement, though more so with joy and anticipation.

"First, let me introduce myself. I'm Finney Hellscythe, your daughter's younger brother. She came from an orphanage and was adopted by my parents."

"Your daughter's name is now Skye Hellscythe. She chose that name herself, so don't glare at me like that."

Hearing Skye's name, Carl Johnson became excited again. Finney understood what he meant after a moment's thought and explained without saying a word.

"I've already awakened her abilities, related to shockwaves. I've also found your enemy, Whitehall, and he's under my control in a base. If you want to deal with him, I can give you the chance."

Hearing this, Carl Johnson was somewhat stunned. He felt that all of this was so unreal, and he was very puzzled as to how Finney knew all this.

"In short, your daughter's life is actually quite good now, but your and your wife's current situation could change that, do you understand?"

While Finney preferred simplicity, he also considered the circumstances. Regarding Skye's parents, he wanted to prepare for both possibilities.

Cal Johnson's situation was relatively easy to handle; after all, his only wish was to personally avenge himself and reunite his family.

But Skye's mother was different. She wanted to exterminate all humans, leaving only the Inhumans. Finney had to prepare for all possibilities.

For example, what if the Mind Scepter couldn't control her?

Judging from the original storyline, Skye's mother's most important concern was no longer her family, but the entire Inhuman race. This might be good for her people, but it would definitely be a blow to Skye.

In this situation, someone had to solve her problem, so Finney approached Cal Johnson.

   Sigh, sigh, sigh…
