Chapter 187 Even Whiter and Bigger!
Wanda and Pietro had been orphans since they were ten years old, enduring many hardships. Later, they even voluntarily joined Hydra to undergo experiments, so although the sudden change in environment startled them, they didn't lose their composure.
"You're a Divine Punishment Knight!"
Wanda hugged herself tightly, trembling as she asked. Pietro stood protectively beside Wanda, his face wary.
Because of the haste, Finney didn't have time to accurately locate the portal, so he unconsciously opened it in the most familiar place—the location where he practiced his skills in the Himalayas, so the surrounding temperature was very low.
Finney looked at her, didn't speak, and with a slight flick of his wrist, opened the portal again, but this time the location was near the 'Afterlife'.
The environment there was relatively good, at least much warmer than here.
"Let's go over there!"
Finney said to the two of them.
Looking at the dark night view on the other side of the portal, Wanda wanted to approach and observe, but Pietro immediately pulled her back, his face full of worry.
"It's alright, he probably doesn't want to kill us!"
Wanda turned to look at Finney, then walked towards the portal, with Pietro immediately following.
Once across the portal, the temperature wasn't so low. Under the moonlight, the siblings looked at Finney, dressed in his 'possessed by demons' costume, before them. Pietro asked first,
"Why did you capture us and bring us here?"
"It was bombed by missiles. I didn't want you to die in there,"
Finney replied honestly.
"You did it? With Stark?"
Wanda's face showed hatred. Because they had joined Hydra voluntarily, they actually had more freedom of movement than others and were aware of outside information.
Since their appearance, Iron Man was usually seen wherever Finney was, so many people believed Tony was Finney's friend and possibly the 'only' person who knew Finney's identity.
"No, they blew it up themselves!"
Finney already knew how hostile the people of Sokovia were to Tony, so he wasn't too surprised by the hatred on Wanda and Pietro's faces.
Hearing Finney's words, the two were slightly taken aback. However, they had only stayed there hoping to become stronger, and had no real feelings for each other. Wanda asked again, "Why did you save us?"
"Why..."
Finney stroked his chin, pondering. To be honest, he simply didn't want them to die like that, so he couldn't help but save them.
His initial plan was to let them return to a normal life after rescuing them, but after meeting them, he suddenly felt that they weren't the kind of people who could accept a stable and peaceful life.
Since ordinary life wasn't working, and thinking about what they would be like after their abilities awakened, Finney suddenly asked, "Can I ask you a question first?"
Wanda and Pietro exchanged a glance, then replied, "What question?"
"You hate Tony Stark because he sold weapons, causing constant war in your country?"
Wanda and Pietro were silent for a moment, then Wanda looked up at Finney carefully and slowly answered, "When we were ten years old, our family of four was having dinner..."
"Suddenly, a shell flew over and blew a hole in the floor of the two floors below, a huge hole!"
Pietro continued, picking up where Wanda left off, his voice slightly choked with emotion, "My parents fell down first, and then the whole house started to collapse."
"I caught her." Pietro tugged at Wanda's hand. "Then she rolled under the bed. The second shell flew by, but it didn't explode; it just landed there, a meter away from us!"
A flicker of fear, a memory of the past, crossed Wanda's face. "That shell clearly said Stark," she said. "We were trapped for two whole days. During those two days, I was constantly thinking about when that shell would detonate and kill us."
Wanda stared at Finney, finally saying, "He destroyed more than just our country!"
Finney sighed inwardly. This was all due to the sins Obadiah had committed years ago!
"Since you know my identity, you must also know that I have some connection with him!"
"So, you're going to kill us?"
Wanda said calmly, her face showing no fear, as did Pietro beside her.
"Then why should I have saved you!"
Finney shook his head, looking at the two and continuing, "I just want to say that Stark is just a weapon maker; he's not the main cause of your tragedy."
"Besides, he's changed now. Could you try giving him a chance to correct his mistakes?"
Wanda and Pietro exchanged a glance, their eyes filled with confusion.
"I don't understand what you mean!"
Pietro asked, looking at Finney.
"What I mean is, could you choose to let go of your hatred and not seek revenge?"
Finney looked at the two silent men and continued, "Besides, I might be able to help you awaken some superpowers so you can save your country yourselves."
"Also, those weapons might not actually have been sold by Tony Stark. You might not know, but he had an uncle who frequently smuggled arms, and Tony Stark discovered this and directly punished him."
"Maybe he'll be the one to avenge you!"
Hearing Finney's words, Wanda and Pietro were somewhat stunned. How come, in the blink of an eye, things seemed to be going on as if they should be thanking Tony?
Of course, Wanda and Pietro wouldn't believe Finney so easily, but Wanda was very interested in Finney's earlier statement: "You said you could help us awaken superpowers?"
"I guess so!"
Finney wasn't really very confident. The appearance of Scarlet Witch and Quicksilver wasn't like Skye's, where touching the Terrigen Crystal would solve everything. In the original storyline, they were modified by Hydra using the Mind Scepter.
Finney didn't know the method of modification, but he felt that the main reason for the emergence of the ability was the Mind Stone, so he didn't give up immediately.
"How can we believe what you're saying is true?"
Pietro asked from the side.
"How about I take you to see Tony Stark first, so you can understand how he's changed?"
Finney thought for a moment and said. Tony was really busy every day now. In addition to researching and building spaceships, he also had to take time to go out and fight criminals, find arms smugglers, help war-torn countries quell internal strife, and so on.
"You're going to take us to see Tony Stark?"
Pietro and Wanda were stunned again. They had thought of many possible ways to see Stark, but they had never considered this possibility.

Based on their performance in the original storyline, Finney believed in their personalities. Once they realized that things were not as they imagined, it was not impossible for them to let go of their hatred.
He went to such lengths to get Wanda and Pietro to let go of their hatred because he valued their awakened strength, especially Wanda. In the original storyline, her awakened power could even destroy the Infinity Stones.
Immediately afterward, Finney was freed from the 'evil spirit' and, seeing the two astonished individuals, extended her hand, saying, "Nice to meet you, Finney!"
Although it was night, the bright moonlight did not obstruct their vision.
Looking at Finney's outstretched hand, Wanda stared at her face for two or three seconds before stepping forward to shake it, replying, "Wanda Maximoff."
Suddenly, a gentle breeze blew, causing her thin clothes to flutter lightly. Finney suddenly seemed to see something whiter than the moonlight; without the glass, it seemed even whiter and larger!
I feel like I'm recklessly courting death!
