Chapter 194 The Cradle of Regeneration and Zhao Hailun
The laboratory was filled with a tense atmosphere.
It was a top-tier scientific laboratory primarily conducting gene research, with some nanotechnology and artificial intelligence research as secondary focuses.
However, yesterday, they were suddenly informed that the laboratory had been acquired, and today was the day the acquirer would come to inspect it.
Upon receiving this news, the laboratory staff were somewhat uneasy, as no one knew what the new boss was like, what they would be asked to do, or whether there would be layoffs.
"Dr. Zhao Hailun, could you please come here for a moment?"
Just then, the usual head of the laboratory approached and said to the woman from before.
"Me!?"
Zhao Hailun was stunned, looking around at the equally surprised gazes, somewhat bewildered.
"Yes!"
The female head looked at the dazed Zhao Hailun, guessing what might be going on, and then urged, "Come with me quickly, the boss is waiting for you!"
"Oh, oh!"
Zhao Hailun snapped out of her daze, quickly straightened her clothes, and nervously followed behind the head of the laboratory, wondering why the new boss wanted to see her.
"Go in, the boss is waiting for you."
Outside the office, the female manager said to Zhao Hailun, glancing at her alluring figure and then thinking of the new boss's handsome appearance, a hint of jealousy creeping into her eyes.
Zhao Hailun didn't notice the manager's gaze. Hearing this, she nervously and curiously pushed open the door and went inside.
"Hello, I'm Zhao Hailun!"
Zhao Hailun said uneasily, looking at the man standing by the window gazing at the scenery outside.
"Hello, Dr. Zhao, nice to meet you. I'm Finney!"
Finney turned around, sizing up the woman before him. His main reason for acquiring this laboratory was because of her and a technology; otherwise, he wouldn't have bothered coming all this way.
"Huh!?"
Seeing Finney turn around, his young and handsome appearance stunned Zhao Hailun. She clearly hadn't expected the person acquiring the lab to be like this.
"What's wrong?"
Finney asked, noticing Zhao Hailun's shocked expression.
"I'm sorry, Mr. Halsey, hello!" Zhao Hailun realized her lapse in composure and quickly apologized, then asked, "I wonder what you called me here for?"
"Nothing much, I was just thinking about setting up a new project for the lab, and I hope you can take charge of it, so I wanted to get to know you first,"
Finney said, looking at her.
"What about the 'Regeneration Cradle'?"
Zhao Hailun's eyes were filled with anxiety. She had been researching this project for several years, and although it was still some distance from success, she was unwilling to give up so easily. She quickly explained,
"Mr. Finney, you may not know, but once this technology succeeds, it could change the entire world. It is the future, it can..."
"Don't rush, Dr. Zhao!"
Finney interrupted Zhao Hailun's eager explanation, then reassured her, "I don't intend for you to abandon the 'Regeneration Cradle' project.
I just hope you can do me a favor first. This new project shouldn't take up too much of your time!"
Hearing that Finney didn't intend to cancel the 'Regeneration Cradle' research, Zhao Hailun breathed a sigh of relief. Then, remembering her earlier rudeness, she felt a little embarrassed, but still asked,
"What is this new project?"
"Before telling you about the new project, can I ask you a question?"
Finney didn't tell her directly because the experiment ultimately aimed to awaken superpowers in Wanda and Pietro—this was human experimentation.
Zhao Hailun nodded, a puzzled look on her face.
"Do you know the Silver Knight?"
"Of course!"

Finney continued.
"Of course!" Zhao Hailun answered without hesitation: "He's the most powerful superhero in the world!"
"What if he asked you to help him conduct a human experiment that might not have been approved?"
Finney suddenly asked, looking at her. Zhao Hailun's attitude was somewhat unexpected, but it made him even more confident in persuading her.
Although the Mind Stone could directly control the work of everyone in the laboratory, Finney didn't want to do that. After all, they were just ordinary researchers, not Hydra.
Besides, the Infinity Stones possessed their own intelligence, and Finney didn't dare to abuse their power, otherwise, he might be tricked by them one day.
"What?"
Zhao Hailun was stunned, seemingly not understanding Finney's meaning.
"Possessed by a demon!"
Finney summoned a longsword, transformed in front of Zhao Hailun, and then looked at her, saying, "I want you to study a gem and then help a brother and sister gain superpowers!"
Zhao Hailun stared at this scene, her mouth agape in shock, her mind blank.
Finney dispelled the 'possession by a demon' and returned to normal, then summoned a 'Violet Chicken Wrap' and handed it to her, smiling as he said, "If you don't believe me, I can get Tony Stark to prove it to me!"
"You...you are..."
Zhao Hailun involuntarily took the 'Violet Chicken Wrap,' regaining consciousness, but still too excited to speak.
"Yes, I am the Silver Knight, or the Divine Punishment Knight, but actually I don't like these titles." Finney nodded, then instructed, "Also, remember to keep it a secret. If others find out, it could be dangerous."
Not to mention, Alexander Pierce was almost bald from worrying so much about finding him.
Zhao Hailun stared at Finney's face, her eyes still filled with disbelief. She never imagined that the person who acquired the laboratory was actually a Divine Punishment Knight.
Soon, Zhao Hailun smelled a delicious aroma. Looking down, she saw it was the 'Violet Chicken Wrap' she had unconsciously accepted earlier.
"This...what is this?"
"A little gift to calm you down. Try it!"
Finney casually summoned another chicken wrap, then took a bite as proof. The aroma filled the air, making Zhao Hailun swallow hard.
Looking at Finney eating, Zhao Hailun's heart pounded. After hesitating for a few seconds, she couldn't resist taking a bite herself.
A delicious flavor she had never experienced before struck her heart, instantly making her forget her earlier tension and excitement. A feeling of happiness filled her entire body.
Seeing Zhao Hailun's blissful expression, Finney smiled as expected, waiting for her to finish before discussing the research on the Mind Scepter with her.
He believed this brilliant female PhD was definitely no less capable than the researchers at Hydra.
