Chapter 198 The Ramondarin
"I heard you've been stuck in the lab for three days without going out?"
Just as Finney and Shuri were discussing what style the pendant should be made, a deep and powerful voice came from outside the lab.
Finney turned around and saw a man who looked somewhat like T'Chaka standing not far away watching them, and immediately guessed his identity.
"Brother!"
Shuri's surprised greeting confirmed Finney's guess.
"Why are you back?"
Shuri excitedly ran over, grabbed the man's hand, and then immediately led him to Finney's side and introduced him: "This is my brother, our Wakanda prince, T'Challa."
"Hello, Prince T'Challa! I am Finney Hellscythe!"
Finney extended his hand in greeting.
T'Challa immediately grasped Finney's hand and replied respectfully, "Hello, esteemed Mr. Finney Hellscythe!"
"No need for that!"
Seeing T'Challa's manner, Finney sighed helplessly and said, "Just call me Finney or Hellscythe, like Shuri did."
For the past few days, T'Challa had practically treated him like a god, personally coming every day to inquire about his well-being, whether he had eaten well, and whether he needed to move to a better place, much to Finney
's frustration. T'Challa hadn't witnessed the spell, so his feelings towards Finney were primarily driven by curiosity. If his father hadn't insisted on showing him utmost respect, he wouldn't have acted this way.
So, after hearing Finney's words, he hesitated slightly before agreeing and greeting him again, "Then I apologize for being so rude, Mr. Finney!"
After the two finished introducing themselves, Shuri excitedly grabbed T'Challa's hand and asked, "When did you get back?"
Seeing his overjoyed sister, T'Challa put his worries aside and replied with a smile, "I just got back a short while ago!"
Many people in Wakanda saw Finney arrive, but later many people didn't understand why T'Chaka wanted to keep Finney and treat him with the highest honors.
Regarding his 'identity,' due to Finney's instructions, only the chiefs of each tribe and a small group of people T'Chaka trusted knew the truth.
Some who were unaware of the truth were deeply worried and tried to inform Prince T'Challa.
T'Challa only learned of Finney's 'relationship' with the leopard god Bast from his father upon his return. However, having not witnessed it firsthand, he didn't immediately believe it, nor did he completely doubt it; he decided to observe the situation first.
Therefore, upon returning, he immediately went to the laboratory, hoping to meet Finney.
From their brief interaction, his impression of Finney was acceptable, but he didn't believe he might be a 'god' as his father had described.
"I heard you've been in the laboratory for three days straight. Is everything alright?"
T'Challa asked his sister with concern.
"No problem!"
Shuri raised an eyebrow without any politeness, then pulled T'Challa to the vicinity of the Tesseract, saying excitedly, "Brother, you'd never guess just how mysterious and powerful this thing is!"
"What's this? Is it the new battery you're researching?"
T'Challa examined the Tesseract, stroking his chin as he asked.
"It is..." Shuri was about to excitedly introduce it when she suddenly remembered that it belonged to Finney, and quickly turned to Finney, his eyes asking if she could tell him.
Finney nodded without hesitation, and Shuri began to speak rapidly, from its origins to his research, leaving T'Challa somewhat bewildered, but he still understood what Shuri meant.
Simply put, this thing is very mysterious, very powerful, and also very dangerous, but I still managed to research it successfully.
It was quite a feat for her to respond to such a complex request for praise. T'Challa silently admired her before patting her head and praising, "No wonder you're Wakanda's number one genius!"
"Hehe!"
Shuri showed a proud little expression, but also a bit embarrassed.
"Is it almost done?"
T'Challa continued to ask. He'd overheard Shuri's words; it seemed only the final step was needed to complete it.
"Yes, once the model is designed, we'll prepare to manufacture it,"
Finney answered for Shuri. He hadn't expected the process to go so smoothly, and he was slightly worried. What if Bast found out about this later? Would he blame Shuri and the others?
But giving up now was impossible. He could only hope the female leopard would arrive later, and that he could finish her off with a slide tackle once his strength was sufficient.
T'Challa's arrival didn't have much of an impact. A day later, the vibranium pendant was successfully completed.
Finney finally took out the Space Stone from the Tesseract and carefully attached it to the pendant.
The entirely silver pendant didn't fit Wakanda's usual black style, but some of the patterns on it were unique to Wakanda.
Unlike the Eye of Agamotto, the pendant features a blue-eyed white dragon that coils around the gem, completely enveloping it. When it wants to use the gem, it unfolds its body and holds it in its mouth.
Finney was very pleased with the finished product, wondering if he should name it. He also developed a genuine admiration for Wakanda and Shuri's technology.
He and Shuri had spent almost all their time in the lab these past few days, and their relationship had become very close. So, as they parted, Finney asked her for a favor.
Knowing Shuri was naive, he didn't beat around the bush and asked directly,
"I have a lab in Seoul, and I'm currently researching another gem. If you don't mind, could you help me out?"
Shuri looked curious. In the past three days, the more she studied the Space Stone, the more terrifying and mysterious it seemed. Hearing that Finney had another gem, she couldn't help but ask, "Didn't you say there are only six of these in the entire universe?"
"Yes, I went to great lengths to obtain two, and there are two I may never get,"
Finney nodded.
He meant the Time Stone and the Soul Stone. With the Time Stone, if something happened to Doctor Strange in the future, he might still have a chance, but with the Soul Stone, unless he could break the rule of sacrifice, he would have absolutely no chance.
"Will it also be made into a pendant?"
Shuri continued to ask. Each gem has different properties, so the pendant design might also differ.
"No, it's about hoping to use it to awaken superpowers in a brother and sister!"
Finney's answer made Shuri's expression show a mixture of interest and hesitation. As a scientist, as their relationship grew closer, she had tried many ways to study Finney's 'magic.'
And the bored Finney would sometimes cooperate with her.
Kamar-Taj's magic was alright, but the skills drawn from the system were completely devoid of science, leaving Shuri utterly confused.
So when she heard that it was about helping people gain superpowers, she couldn't help but want to go and see, but the thought of leaving Wakanda made her hesitate.
Seeing Shuri's expression, Finney thought she was unwilling, so she smiled and said, "It's okay, if something comes up, it's fine."
"I'll go, I'll go!"
Shuri snapped out of her reverie and quickly said. After thinking about it, she still couldn't resist wanting to see one of the only six Infinity Stones in the universe.
Finney was very happy that Shuri was joining them. Because it was Finney's request, T'Chaka and Ramonda, although somewhat worried, ultimately did not stop her.
It was only after T'Challa repeatedly inquired and confirmed, and then requested a team of Wakanda's guards, that he finally agreed.
Four days after Finney finished making the pendant (whose name he hadn't yet decided on) and left Wakanda, just as Christmas was approaching, another major event occurred in New York, or rather, in the United States: all television stations were hijacked.
A terrorist named 'The Ramondarin' instantly became a household name.
Ahem~ Seems like there aren't any more clues. I've already mentioned the popular female character, the eyes, and it's related to time. What else can I say? Anyway, you guys guess, I won't reveal the answer for now!!!
