Chapter 206 - Chapter 209 Preparations Before Going to Asgard

Chapter 209 Preparations Before Going to Asgard

He didn't really care about nicknames; unless he personally declared them, there was basically no chance of changing his identity as a 'knight'.

The flames roared, melting all the snow within several meters of him, showing that the flames weren't without heat, just that they wouldn't harm him.

He thought for a moment and temporarily called this state 'Flame Mode'. In this mode, he could vaguely feel that besides the flames, his strength seemed to have increased to some extent, but his body felt much heavier.

After some testing, he found that this was indeed the case. Comparing it to before, he found that his strength had increased by about 20% in this state. However,

his speed had indeed decreased significantly, and he couldn't activate stealth mode in this state.

Although it had drawbacks such as the inability to conceal and reduced speed, overall, this mode was still an enhancement for Finney, albeit one that emphasized power.

Moreover, Finney felt that the flames on his body weren't ordinary flames; at the very least, they didn't require oxygen to burn. These flames were

less like flames and more like a manifestation of 'breathing techniques' energy. The 'Flame Mode' was quite taxing; for Finney, who hadn't fully mastered 'breathing techniques,' he felt somewhat fatigued after only ten minutes.

After deactivating 'Flame Mode,' Finney sat on the ground to rest, while seriously studying the 'breathing techniques' skill.

After this inexplicable 'transformation,' he suddenly realized that the energy absorbed during 'breathing techniques' didn't seem to be of the same type.

However, due to his familiarity with 'Explosion Magic,' he felt the warm yet intense solar energy most deeply and absorbed it most easily.

Finney slowly cleared his mind, activated his 'breathing technique,' and focused on sensing the surrounding energy. In addition to the bright and cheerful solar energy, he did discover several other energies.

Gentle as flowing water, carrying the cool energy of water; heavy as rock, full of texture of earth energy; fleeting as a gust of wind, elusive and unpredictable; and violent as thunder, unruly and untamed.

Only now did Finney realize how negligent he had been, only discovering these now.

As for whether there were other energies, Finney wasn't sure, but of the few he could sense so far, apart from the energy of the sun, or rather, the energy of fire, he couldn't absorb the others.

Although he couldn't absorb them, Finney was still delighted. If he was right, absorbing these energies would surely cause 'Evil Spirit Possession' to change again.

Then, besides 'Flame Knight,' he would probably have a few more nicknames.

Finney sighed inwardly, resolving to quickly improve his 'breathing technique' proficiency, striving to transform normal breathing into 'breathing technique' mode as soon as possible.

For the next week, Finney diligently practiced his 'breathing technique' while arranging for Shuri to come to the laboratory in Seoul.

Shuri and Zhao Hailun, perhaps because they were both his fans, unexpectedly got along very well, which relieved Finney considerably.

Tony, however, hadn't contacted him during this time, seemingly forgetting about the surgery, which made Finney sigh slightly, but he didn't press him.

After finishing all this, Christmas arrived before he knew it.

Without the Mandarin Ducks, New York returned to its usual tranquility. Santa Clauses dangled sweets from shops, filling the city streets with a joyful atmosphere.

Even Kamala Khan was affected by the festive spirit, decorating its courtyard with a Christmas tree.

  "Good morning,Kasirius !" Early

in the morning, Finney, who was on his way to practice, saw Kasirius not far away and approached to greet him.

  "Good morning, Mage Heroes!"

Kasirius nodded, replying politely but with a distance. He could sense that Finney seemed to be trying to cultivate a better relationship with him lately, though he didn't know why.

He felt that he and Finney weren't on the same wavelength, so he didn't accept the kindness.

  "Have you eaten?"

Finney didn't care about Kasirius's attitude and casually summoned a 'Violet Chicken Nugget Wrap' and asked him.

Kasirius glanced at the 'Violet Chicken Wrap' in Finney's hand, his gaze wavering slightly before he nodded and replied, "Thanks, I've already eaten!"

  "Alright!"

Finney shrugged and followed Kasirius, eating by himself. The aroma was irresistible, and Kasirius's nostrils twitched slightly, clearly showing him swallowing hard, but he didn't ask Finney for any after arriving at the training grounds.

Finney had to admit that Kasirius's will was indeed very strong.

After the morning training, Finney continued to observe Kasirius. He didn't have many friends, but their relationships were very close, vaguely resembling a small clique.

  "What's wrong?"

Just then, Mordo walked up to him, glanced at Kasirius twice, and asked Finney, "It seems like you've been deliberately trying to get in touch with him lately."

  "Yes!"

Finney didn't deny it, nodding in reply, "I wanted to get to know what kind of person he is."

Hearing Finney's words, Mordo smiled and replied, "Although he seems a bit aloof, he's actually very sincere when you get to know him."

"Moreover, he's progressing very quickly and is willing to share his learning experiences, so the Ancient One is considering arranging a few disciples for him."

  "Oh!"

Finney looked at Kasirius, thinking about Mordo's words. In the original storyline, he was able to get his subordinates to willingly betray Kama-Taj, so he must have some unique abilities.

"Where's the Ancient One? I have some questions I'd like to ask her."

Finney snapped out of his reverie and asked Mordo. It was still too early for Kaecilius to betray them, so resolving the issue of getting to Asgard was more important.

"She should be in the Quiet Chamber. I just saw her head that way."

After saying goodbye to Mordo, Finney found the Ancient One and told her about her desire to go to Asgard.

  "You're going to Asgard?"

The Ancient One's expression showed a slight surprise, then she asked, "Where are you going and what for?"

"I want to get a star map."

Finney was a little embarrassed, then asked expectantly, "Do you have one? If you do, I don't need to go."

The Ancient One shook her head and continued, "What do you need a star map for?"

"I plan to go and explore the universe."

Finney said truthfully, and seeing the Ancient One's brow furrow slightly, she quickly added, "It's just a short trip around the area; you'll be back soon."

"Finney, the universe is vast and dangerous!"

The Ancient One looked at Finney , a hint of worry in his deep gaze, and said, "Although you are very strong now, there are actually many beings in the universe stronger than you!"
