Savannah's POV
"He left."
"I am quite disappointed, Calvert. We had a deal, didn't we? You bring my brother to me and I give you complete power over the packs."
"Dennis, I-"
"Shh, my dear friend. It's fine. The deal we made five years ago on the full moon won't kill you unless I complete my part."
"This is utterly ridiculous-"
"Could be," Dennis interrupted, "but my plans got a lot more complicated than I was expecting. All those rats nibbling at my feet are starting to irritate me."
"Rats?"
That was the last word Calvert managed to mumble before Dennis hurled his phone against the wall, shattering it into countless pieces.
I pressed my hand firmly over my mouth, desperate to muffle the sharp intake of breath that threatened to escape. This was a terrible idea. This was such a catastrophic mistake. How did I even end up crammed under his bed like some common thief?
