Dennis's POV
Everything had unfolded exactly as I planned.
The ease of it all caught me off guard, honestly.
Savannah had slipped into my bed without me needing some elaborate scheme.
Yes, she came to steal the house key. That much was obvious. But taking such a dangerous risk came with an equally dangerous reward. Not for her, naturally.
It was almost charming how she believed I couldn't detect her scent the moment she entered my room. Still, I stepped into the shower, listening to every noise she tried to muffle with her careful movements.
So beautifully clumsy.
Calvert's unexpected phone call was the only wrench in my plans, though I barely minded. I had been waiting for Jonathan to finally break free from that man's control for ages.
What shocked me was discovering just how utterly stupid my older brother had become in situations like these, falling right into someone like Calvert's trap.
