Nora's POV
"Well, that's not happening," I spit, my vision blurring from the shock. "Like literally, right? The one time a demon tried to possess me, it basically exploded."
James rushes into the kitchen after hearing our conversation, his dark blue eyes filled with terror. He stops behind me and stares at the crime scene photos spread across the counter.
"How do you know this means he's trying to possess Nora?" he demands, needing logical answers.
"Because I finally understand what prophecy Chad referenced," Kevin explains. Ophelia and Charlette enter the kitchen, drawn by James's urgent entrance. One glance at our faces tells them something serious is happening.
And it's nothing good.
"Centuries ago, a dark prophecy spoke of a child born from both light and darkness, perfectly balanced so that removing one side would allow the other to dominate. Most interpreted this as good versus evil, but others saw it as two distinct types of power."
