The disbelief in my voice matches the shock still coursing through my system. "I can't believe that actually worked."
Watching Lena climb the stairs, I pivot toward Brent with irritation written across my face. "You really should trust my abilities by now."
"It's not that I don't believe in what you can do," he replies, "but I expected that conversation to be much more complicated."
"Your faith in me is overwhelming." My gaze drifts back to the spot where Lena's unconscious form had been sprawled just moments before.
