Nora's POV
The ice rattles against my glass as I fan myself, batting at the tiny bugs hovering around my face.
Ophelia, Reyna, and Jill departed around an hour ago, and James remains deep in slumber. He ventured out to retrieve the footage I needed after I'd fallen asleep, only returning to the house as dawn was breaking. After the blood loss and not feeding afterward, his rest will likely extend far beyond his usual duration. When he finally awakens, he absolutely must feed. There's no guarantee I won't require his rescue again.
I'm sprawled across the rooftop terrace, working on evening out my tan, and gulp down the frigid water. My familiars have joined me up here, basking in the warmth like ordinary domestic cats. After placing my glass aside, I flip onto my belly to bronze my back.
