Nora's POV
"Hold on," I say, yanking my hand free before he can whisk us away from here. "What exactly are you talking about?"
Kevin stands before us in completely different clothes than when I last saw him, his eyes darting around the darkness with obvious anxiety.
"There's a chance I was followed here."
"Followed?" James's voice sharpens. "If you thought someone was tailing you, why the hell would you come straight to us?"
"I needed to reach you before they did," Kevin responds, extending his palm as the familiar gleam of his angel blade materializes.
"Who's after you?" I ask, though my gut already knows the answer.
"Demons."
James immediately shifts behind me, his muscular arm circling my waist as his broad hand spreads protectively across my belly.
