The morning of our marriage felt like the dawn of another world.
The suns of Aurelion rose together, casting gold threads across the sky. The capital of Solaryn bloomed in colour—banners, lamps, and music filled every street. Even the rivers glowed, as if the heavens themselves had lowered their blessings. For the first time in history, an emperor's wedding belonged not to royalty alone but to a world reborn.
The phoenix bells rang as I stood before the grand flame altar, the heart of Aurelion's divine temple. Seven white paths stretched from the altar's centre—each leading to one bride, each glowing softly with their aura.
Valtryn walked first, her steps precise, her armour polished to gold. The war empress, who had once led countless battles, now wore a smile that could melt even steel. "You finally conquered something worth keeping," she whispered with a grin.
Morvessa followed, cloaked in jade silk that shimmered like mist at dawn. Her hair brushed her shoulders as she walked beside Valtryn. "For once, your poison worked on me," she teased softly.
Next came Mira, the thunder queen in vibrant silver, laughter on her lips, and lightning in her eyes. She met my gaze and said, "If you ever break my heart, I'll break the sky." Her grin held no threat—only promise.
Yue Xiang arrived next, elegant in a soft crimson robe, calm as wind over water. She bowed with quiet pride. "You gave me peace," she murmured. "Now let me give you strength."
Lian Xueyi stepped onto the path in flowing blue silk, her scholar's grace glowing under the temple lights. "In every life," she said shyly, "I think we were always meant to meet here."
Behind her came Nyra, radiant in icy white, silver hair swaying like snowlight. Her eyes still carried sadness, but when they met mine, she smiled faintly. "I never thought I would live to feel warmth again," she said softly.
And last came Sera, dressed in crimson and gold armour reshaped into elegance, her fiery presence melting the frost in the air. "You took a woman who had nothing left to burn," she said, her voice rough but true, "and turned her flame into home."
They gathered around me, seven lights of different strengths and colours, encircling the altar like the petals of eternity.
The High Seer raised his staff. "By fire and fate, the heavens witness the oath of Solaryn reborn. Seven stars to his crown, seven hearts to his life. From this day, Emperor Mukul Ardyn Solaryn and the Seven shall walk as one shared flame."
The sacred fire answered, no longer red or gold, but white—a divine light that held the warmth of creation itself. It wrapped around us all, weaving energy through our souls, connecting heart to heart.
Each placed a hand upon the flame circle. The barrier of divinity pulsed and dissolved, linking our essences. The moment it sealed, I felt everything—Valtryn's pride, Morvessa's quiet affection, Mira's restless loyalty, Yue Xiang's calm, Xueyi's devotion, Nyra's fragile trust, and Sera's courageous love.
For a second, it felt as though Aurelion itself was alive inside all of us, breathing, glowing, and celebrating.
Arina's voice descended from the void above, calm and shining. "Congratulations, Host. The world itself has recognised your vow. All seven blessings are bound. You are no longer tied by mortality—but by unity."
Faith smiled from the temple stairs. Luna clapped softly, watching the light weave around us. Even the soldiers and citizens gathered outside fell silent, lifting their heads to the heavens.
Then Arina's tone shifted—warm, yet distant. "However… The system's next gate is opening. The bridge is ready. Your journey cannot stop here."
The light around the temple flickered as the sky trembled. A massive circle formed high above the palace—a rift casting silver shadows over the suns of Aurelion. Within it, distant stars turned slowly, whispering of another world.
Valtryn turned to me, eyes steady. "Leaving again?"
I nodded. "The next world waits. The system's mission isn't over yet."
Morvessa's fingers brushed mine, her touch cool and knowing. "You'll burn yourself chasing infinity," she murmured.
"Maybe," I said, smiling faintly. "But I'd rather chase than stop."
Yue Xiang placed her hand over my heart. "Then come back when you can. Peace deserves witnesses."
Lian Xueyi's voice trembled as she held her scrolls close. "I'll record everything while you're gone… so the next world will remember you as we do."
Mira slapped my shoulder with a grin, hiding the tears in her eyes. "You'd better make sure the next world bows faster than this one."
Nyra stepped closer, her expression unreadable but her words soft. "If darkness follows you there, remember… The moon always finds you."
Sera's hand tightened on her sword. "And if war greets you, I'll hear of it. I'll bring an army through the rift myself."
I smiled. "I believe you."
As Arina's portal expanded, light cascaded down over the capital like rain. The crowd outside gasped as feathers of flame drifted from the rift, symbols of farewell and promise.
I turned once more to my seven wives. "You've given me a reason to keep walking. Whatever world lies ahead, it's not despair—it's hope carried forward from yours."
Morvessa smirked softly. "Even kings forget directions. Try not to lose yourself out there."
Valtryn raised her sword. "For Solaryn, for Aurelion, for you."
I bowed once, one knee to the ground—a gesture from a ruler to those who ruled his heart. "Till I return."
Arina's voice guided me gently. "Step forward, Emperor. The bridge awaits."
I took one last breath of Aurelion's air—the scent of flame and earth, the echoes of banners and voices—and stepped into the rift.
The world blurred. Light swallowed colour. Weight vanished.
For a heartbeat, I saw every face I loved reflected in the pathways of energy around me. Then Arina whispered, "Destination: Earth."
When I opened my eyes again, the sky was grey, the air raw and unfamiliar—the world I once called home.
I looked at my hands, still glowing faintly with the seven lights of blessing, and whispered to myself, "Aurelion lives within me."
Behind me, the rift closed quietly, leaving only starlight and a promise.
And before me, the restless horizon of Earth stretched wide—my next world, waiting to be healed.
The journey had begun again.
