A few days passed by and while Neme continued to dive the dungeon like a fanatic the forces of Orario were busy trying to locate the culprit responsible for the gods assassination.
Worst still was that the loki familia which was one of the two kings of the city refused the Guild request to have their adventurers search for the killer.
It's not that the familia executies didn't want to, in fact they very much did.
Instead it was Loki the god of Mischief who used the guild own commission against them.
High rank exploration familia's were required to conduct regular explorations of the dungeon all with the intent of diving deeper into the dungeon never giving up the goal of reaching the 100th floor and slaying the Black Dragon the last of the three Great trials of the earth.
Loki wasn't even just being pedantic either.
Her familia members had for weeks now been spending ever last valis preparing for this exploration trip, if it was postponed even just a week, she would be forced into bankruptcy and her loans called in destroying everything her Familia members had spend decades to build up.
Worse than that, she would lose her chance to drink the very best wines and booze… BOOZE I tell you, it was a surprise that Loki wasn't a dwarven god given how much the lil shorty could put away when her Familia vault was flush with cash, even getting her hands on a jug or two of Soma's true divine wine wasn't impossible.
And while she was enraged at the idea Soma was now dusted, which meant all that remained of his divine wine was all there ever would be.
Perhaps Dionysus would take up the mantle of brew master providing the much needed liquor so desperately desired by the gods themselves.
What she desire more right now was Valis.
Soma's wine was a premium before but now that there was limited stock remaining, it became priceless, and she was currently broke so her children need to go into the dungeon to earn valis, compared to never being able to afford that wine ever again or going broke, what was her life worth.
She'd rather return to heaven than suffer such a fate.
Of course there was still the risk of the killer, but Loki believed in her familia members.
Even if the majority of them moved into the dungeon on the expedition this would still leave a dozen level 2 or 3's to stick around with her.
And compared to the more failed adventurers of the Soma Familia.
Her's were battle hardened and ready to lay down their lives to protect her.
The expedition was witnessed descending by Neme as he was returning.
Dozens of level 3's, and 4's along with a handful of level 5's and three level 6.
True powerhouse potential.
Thankfully being what he was a Falnaless civilian even though he encountered them on the fifth floor as he was returning, they didn't really notice him with only the Level six Finn [Braver] stopping to tell him it was dangerous for a civilian to be in the dungeon and to return to the surface for his own safety.
Seeing as he was already heading back anyways, Neme agreed without needing to lie.
So passing by Finn's group of the expedition, Neme ascended back to the surface, while the Loki group carried on their way into the dungeon depths.
Some of the group murmured questions about why a civilian was on the fifth floor since even the second floor was dangerous enough for one without a blessing, but the thought flitted away before to long focusing their attentions back to the task at hand.
However a second unexpected encounter happened as Neme was making his way to the surface.
White hair, red eyes, small build…
How could Neme a fan of this world even before coming here not notice the very protagonist right before his eyes.
Only seeing how Bell was actively hunting on the second floor it was clear he was truly a newbie adventurer probably only having joined a familia in the last couple of days, and still missing his fated encounter with Ais Wallenstein.
Though considering the Loki familia was just descending now, and bell was before his eyes.
That gave a timeline of five days before the Loki familia would encounter the Virga's on the fiftieth floor, resulting in massive damages to their gear and familia members forcing a swift end to the expedition ending in failure, only to run into a minotaur parade on the fifteenth floor but before they could deal with it, the horde of monsters fled in panic at the encounter with the Level 5 twin sisters Tione, and Tiona.
One of these would manage to get far enough up the dungeon to encounter Bell Cranel, only to have him be saved by Ais.
That would be the start of his journey as a protagonist, having developed feeling for Ais his saviour, and the strength of those feeling coupled with his adoptive grandfathers near endless stories of heroes, along with his perverted thoughts on what true love really is.
Mixing these into the mind of the person that is Bell Cranel, then giving him this fated encounter was all it took for an innate skill to be unlocked.
Though if he had another ten days of growth, Neme himself would already start hunting on the fifteenth floor, perhaps because of his excessive hunting he would interfere with the timeline enough to prevent Bell from having his fated encounter with Ais.
Neme could only at the moment offer up a friendly nod to the young man trying his hardest, wishing him in his heart all the best while also apologizing silently for the mess to his supposed to be future that he would most likely endanger.
Soma was already gone, which meant Liliruca Arda could not properly work as a supporter unless she found herself a new Familia, but since Soma's death the gods had become extremely wary of anyone not of their own familia's so the chance of being picked up by anyone other than Goddess Hestia who was for lack of a better word Desperate, she could only transform and try to live out her life as a regular civilian.
