During mid-sentence I hear something falling on the ground down the corridor. Trying to see what's ahead, I see a quick flare of cyan for a moment.
'Cyan lizard!'

At the exact moment I figure out what's ahead, the cyan lizard is already jet boosting right towards me!
Im not sure if its because of the strange effects Inv's saliva gave me but im able to react right away.
'I want to see that lizard's stats!' I quickly say in my mind.

Ignoring what the system said, I watch as the lizard midair suddenly starts scratching at its face! With its focus interrupted I'm able to easily dodge the lizard's jump.
Missing me, the lizard rolls on the ground still clawing at its face. But it's barely able to do this much longer when I see Inv pounce on it, biting down on its throat ripping it out.
Seeing the light on the cyan's head flicker out, I calm down from the sudden adrenaline rush.

'That… didnt go so bad!' i think, surprised by my reaction time to what just happened. I'd been wanting to test that out after what happened last cycle and it worked perfectly disrupting the lizard's vision!
"U ok Joey?" I hear Inv ask me, snapping me out of my surprise.
"Yeah, I'm… I'm good. You should start eatin- what the fuck?!"
While I'm telling Inv to start eating the dead lizard, the blue overseer I saw 2 cycles ago appears out of nowhere right in front of me?!
The moment I connect eyes with the overseer's single eye; everything suddenly slows down. I hear Inv start to say something but it's so slow I can't tell what he's trying to say.

Trying to quickly think what's going on, I realize the only reason everything has slowed is because…
'I'm about to die?' I think to myself in dread in the slowed down time.
Remembering what my passive 'Death sense' does. I immediately try to think why am I suddenly about to die. I don't remember any way the overseers could kill you in the game. But i know i cant just completely go off from the game. Of course there are going to be differences.
Looking down at the overseer, in my slowed down vision I see the blue overseer starting to turn… orange? But why-

Hearing this, I instantly think back to what I saw on the map while watching Inv's icon. One moment the overseer's icon was there, the next moment it wasn't. While at the same time both me and Inv's icons went flying across the room.

'Its a fucking explosive! Why the fuck is the overseer able to explode?!' I guess on why I'm about to die. I can't think of any other reason besides this!
Not wanting to waste another moment, I bend down as fast as I can, grabbing the overseer's stem and pull!
In surprise i pull the overseer out of the ground with ease, its eye also looking at me in surprise, as if not expecting me to react so fast to its sudden appearance.

Hearing the second beep, without thinking I throw the overseer down the corridor as far away-

Slowly, my vision opens back up, only able to see the blurry silhouette of Inv.
"JOEY! WAK UP!" Inv yells while shaking me.
I can only feel relief at the moment, knowing that I'm still alive from the sudden death scenario.
"I-im ok Inv, im alright…" I assure Inv, hoping he will keep shaking me.
"T-tat gud… muh gud… bu yu hav tu ge up!" Inv at first calms down before immediately pulling me up from the ground. Instantly back on my feet, I look at Inv.

Before I can finish what I was about to say, in the far distance I hear multiple hisses from lizards.
"J-Joey we hav tu gu bak en te sheler!" Inv worriedly tells me.
Remembering seeing all the lizard icons appearing while watching Inv's icon escape the swarm room last cycle. I understand Inv's sudden worry hearing the hisses.
'Not only does the damn thing explode! It lures lizards to the sound of the explosion!'
But this might actually be a good thing! The food is coming to us! And we have the perfect item to take them all out!
"Inv! Get ready to throw the egg bomb down the corridor!" I point towards the egg bomb Inv has been holding the entire time.
"O-oh! Awight!" As if just now realizing he's holding a mass weapon of destruction, Inv understands and gets ready to throw the egg bomb.
While Inv does this I quickly tuck myself into a corner to where I won't be flung into any of the protorot when the egg bomb goes off.

Immediately after throwing the egg bomb Inv turns around and pounces right towards me?!

Instantly I'm smothered by Inv in the corner I tucked myself in, his arms wrapping around me tightly.

Just like last cycle, I hear the same crack from the egg bomb. Despite being smothered by Inv, it sounded so clear.
