Chapter 170 - Terror Inducing Smile - Chapter 170

After Conrad took care of Eldras and the twins, he let out a breath and closed his eyes for a moment.

"I am tired..." he said and smiled.

The battle went great for him; he did what he needed to do as much as he could and was finally able to win and take care of the enemies that attacked him.

This was a great experience.

Conrad then opened his eyes for a moment and looked at the direction Adarte and Anisa went in and then nodded as he sprinted towards the next battle area.

He had some thoughts; he wanted to see how they were doing and protect them if any more of the royal guards would arrive.

-

Adarte was focused; he did not believe that he was in such a battle that he would have such a huge amount of focus and relentless feeling to battle.

The problem of the trio, including Conrad, is that they always fought in a protected environment, not considering one or two battles.

These battles were important.

It gave them mastery over themselves and their nen ability and gave them many experiences of how one fights.

But it lacked an important feeling.

It was the feeling that they could die if they lost.

If one has lost a battle in Heavens Arena, they go back to the hospital and then understand why they lost and improve from there.

Here, in this battle, Adarte knew that losing means death or endless torture from the Matilda Kingdom.

This reality gave him a huge amount of focus and understanding on his own character.

Right now, Adarte was strong, stronger than he ever had been.

"Now..."

"I never got hit by that stick."

"I am sure from her actions that getting hit by a stick fulfills a condition of nen of some sort."

"It is something important."

Adarte understood that the stick is not for fun.

The woman kept on trying to damage him and hit him.

It is normal in a sense that she would like to hit him with the weapon, but her demeanor was more like she was not trying to kill him or deal huge damage; it was just "a hit" she was looking for.

She wanted her stick to get close to Adarte, and even a slight hit would be great.

Adarte smiled and again dodged to the right and then felt that his glove was ready at this point.

He jumped back for a moment; Lilis used her stick to turn herself by sticking it to the ground and jumped towards Adarte.

Adarte side-stepped and then let out a breath.

The glove activated, and a small, cone-like-shaped aura blast hit Lilis on the body.

She expected something from that glove, but the fact that she was not able to hit him for a long time made her take more aggressive actions.

Due to these actions, she gave an opening, an opening that would decide the end of the battle.

As the cone-shaped aura hit Lilis, she dropped to the ground, screaming from the depths of her soul.

The pain, the terror, everything filled her body; her scream was so loud that Anisa and Laxon, who were fighting, stopped for a second before keeping on trying to find openings and clashing.

As she screamed and landed on her knee, Adarte did not hesitate at all.

With full force from his metal bat, he hit the neck of Lilis and broke the neck of the woman.

Due to pain and terror, Lilis had no chance or power to defend herself against the full power of the metal bat.

She was not able to use any protective nan around her body other than simple ten, which was not nearly enough to protect her from the fatal damage.

The head of hers twisted and looked like a branch that was broken from her body as it and her body landed on the side.

With one look, Adarte was able to tell that she was no more.

Not long after, she stopped breathing and her heart stopped pumping blood.

Lilis was dead and lost the battle.

-

While Lilis died, Laxon was too hurt and focused to notice this.

Anisa kept on attacking and forced him to be in a defensive state.

His injury to the abdomen was not small at all.

If it were an ordinary bullet that pierced him, the blood loss and force behind the bullet, even if penetrated all the way, would not be this dangerous.

But due to Bullet being a nen bullet formed with the power of a counter-attack type ability, the ability of Anisa changed everything.

The difference between an ordinary bullet and a nen bullet is that one of them is filled with limitations and conditions to be created, which includes a harsh condition of getting hurt by an intent to kill by an enemy, it makes a lot of difference.

As he held his injury and tried to stop the attack.

"It seems like the only way to live is to escape." Laxon thought for a half a second.

He then swung with hands making an eagle claw and hit the chest of Anisa; this time the damage was great.

"Good..."

"This time I gave her great damage," he thought.

At the same time, he noticed something not quite right.

"Why?"

"Why is she smiling instead of getting terrified and feeling the pain from my attack?"

Laxon asked himself.

The smile on the face of Anisa was terror-inducing to him; it was not a smile of an individual that got damaged and was in pain.

But a face of victory, a face of an individual that knows that they won.

Her eyes also made it sure that she was looking at a dead man.

"What is this feeling..."

Laxon could not help but think.

As he started hearing the heartbeat of himself louder and louder each second.
