The trio then kept on speaking about their experiences and the enemies they fought and what kind of abilities they had. Conrad, after thinking about the enemies, the royal guards, and their capabilities, took a deep breath and spoke.
"It would not be weird for them to use sacrifices to gain nen power."
"It is an old use of nen."
Adarte's and Anisa's eyes got serious, and they kept silence while Conrad continued.
"Their nen mastery capabilities and fighting capabilities..."
"These were not in line with how powerful nen abilities they had in their arsenal."
"As you guys both know, the more complex and powerful a nen ability is, the more demanding the ability is in terms of nen mastery of the nen user, the nen amount that one can harness, and how great they are in advanced applications and any other applications."
Adarte and Anisa both nodded.
"That is true; I spent many times over and over again to create my ability." Adarte said.
Anisa then added.
"Because of my past trauma, I was able to create my ability."
"If not for emotional intent and feeling that powered up my nen, my counteractive nen ability would not have been created in the first place."
Conrad smiled and said.
"Precisely."
"The enemies we fought did not have the mastery or means to create the abilities they had."
"What is this telling us?" he asked with a smirk and small nod.
Adarte and Anisa both said at the same time.
"They were using sacrifices of lives to have access to their nen abilities."
Conrad nodded again.
"Bingo."
"For a dictatorship, a kingdom with no care for their people."
"Using human lives, finding thousands of people every month and year is nothing."
"Due to this reason, as long as they have a great master of nen."
"They can form an intricate, complex nen ability that would span generations..."
"If they are able to use humans in terms of more nen power and more versatile, powerful abilities."
"Do you think they would not do it?"
Adarte and Anisa both started thinking deeply, while Conrad took a sip from his beer, and his eyes got serious as his thoughts went back to the Kakin and the Kakin Royal Family.
What he is talking about is pretty much what Kakin does. The King of Kakin directly said, as in the Succession Arc, the ship is full of people; they can spend to their heart's content.
"It is not unknown that Kakin uses a poison jar method in the succession battle to create the nen beasts in the first place."
"The theories, my own understanding shows, are that the last remaining individual will get all the power that accumulated..."
Conrad had many thoughts on those matters. But, even when he was back on Earth, the Succession Arc never ended.
Conrad believed something funny.
Togashi, the writer himself, had a nen ability; it must be called something like "Curse Of Back-Pain—Mastery And Pain."
To have huge mastery over writing a story and success as a writer and manga artist, he needed to live with constant back pain.
"It would be funny," Conrad thought. "If what I think is true."
He shook his head and then came back to reality.
"For more information, more understanding of Kakin and their style of use."
"I need more in-depth knowledge of nen, much more than just having the knowledge of it."
"I need to do more and experience more."
While Adarte spoke, Conrad was kept on thinking.
"So, they were not that talented nen users in the first place."
"They were nen users; that product of another nen ability was built by somebody high up in the Matilda Kingdom."
"This ability involves them from the starting point in their lives and also involves human sacrifices, both of those royal guards and also the creator of the main ability."
Conrad nodded.
"Good."
Anisa, on the other hand, shook her head.
"It is really dangerous to teach nen."
Conrad and Adarte both looked at her for a moment.
"Oh."
"I am sorry; I was thinking out loud."
"It is just that, if these things are possible, it is easy to gain power by sacrificing people."
"It would be a big mistake for a nen user to teach nen to somebody with great intellect and evil character."
Anisa could not help but add.
"Can you imagine a genius mastermind with evil intellect getting nen and understanding this reality of it?"
Conrad kept his silence as his eyes turned cold.
"Yeah," he thought.
"That is Gyro and Morena Pruno; both are geniuses and capable of using nen."
"Such people usually are the masters and dangerous villains in the world of Hunter x Hunter."
Conrad understands the meaning behind the words of Anista, and he is also surprised that with some simple stories and talking, she was able to understand how dangerous the nen is in the bigger sense if the user of it is capable of having no real moral capacity to talk about others.
That is why Conrad also believes that the Phantom Troupe is powerful. Hisoka is great at what he wants to do, and the Zoldyck family is respected and feared.
In a sense, Nen did give a high amount of reward to those who want it and have no moral problems getting it.
"I suppose it is the easy way."
Conrad could not say that he never thought about it.
Just using sacrifices of human life to get power, with his knowledge and capability, it would be pretty easy.
But it is just that he believed it did not suit his character. He was a morally gray individual, but he was not a brutal and wretched individual.
He did not want to build a human form for power in the end.
As the night went on, everybody went back to their rooms while Conrad waited for the books on ancient script to arrive.
