Chapter 262 - Some Sort Of A Monster - Chapter 262

The time passed in a flash, and Conrad went back to Leorio again, finding him in his house that he rented.

"Great..." he said as he looked at Leorio and observed his nen surrounding him. In just six weeks, he learned about Ten, Ren, and Zetsu and was capable of using it.

Of course, mastery over the simplest of the NEN techniques still needed a lot of time to train.

Leorio nodded and touched his hand and smiled.

"If it was not for you, I would not improve at this speed..."

His eyes looked sincere and more serious as he nodded.

"Thank you for everything."

Conrad laughed and shook his head.

"It is nothing."

"Our training did not finish anyway."

Leorio nodded and got up.

Conrad then added.

"Now."

"It is time for you to learn about your category."

"We are going to use water divination for that."

Leorio thought for a moment.

"Water divination? I am not sure I get it..."

Conrad smiled at him.

"You will understand."

He then took a paper from his bag and gave it to Leorio.

"These are the categories and what they symbolize and their relationship with each other."

"Every individual is born with a nen category or type; it can change later on due to extreme events that one may experience."

"But it is rare."

Leorio looked at the paper and nodded.

"Enhancer, Transmuter, Conjurer, Specialist, Manipulator, and lastly, Emitter."

Conrad nodded.

"Okay."

Conrad then took a glass and filled it with water and placed it on the table. He took a leaf from his bag as he already prepared it.

It was not that hard for him to know that Leorio would be successful in learning Ren, so he came to his house prepared for the water divination.

He then placed it to leave on the top of the water.

"I want you to use your nen on it by placing both of your hands around the glass..."

Leorio took a deep breath.

"Alright... I will do as you say..." he said and then placed both his hands and used his nen; he was performing Hatsu while not knowing how to perform Hatsu.

Conrad did not say he performed Hatsu to not make it complicated.

When Leorio-like talented individuals focus on something simple without knowing that they are not going to do something complex. They would be more successful on the attempt, as there is no pressure from knowing that they are doing something hard.

As Leorio used Hatsu,

Two seconds and then five seconds; the color of the water changed to the bluish color not much later. It was not completely blue, just a hint of the blue.

Conrad nodded. He already knew what category Leorio belonged to, but he still made it look like he was just seeing it.

"You are an emitter."

Leorio thought and nodded.

"An emitter..."

Conrad smiled.

"You are able to detach your aura from your body and manipulate it from far away."

"When it comes to practical applications of nen, emitters are really advantageous."

"Most of them use ranged weapons to fight; they are also capable of using their aura like a weapon from far away to fight too."

"Many things can be done with the Emitter category, but right now you don't need to know those."

Leorio nodded.

"Okay."

"I get it."

"So, what am I going to do now?" Leorio was excited and happy to hear about his category. Because of that, he wanted to hurry up and learn more about what he should learn about.

Conrad said.

"First of all."

"I want you to train one more week."

Leorio tilted his head.

"On what?" he asked with some confusion etched on his face.

Conrad laughed.

"On water divination, I want you to train enough that your results are more prominent and easy to see."

"So, just train two to four hours using the Hatsu as you did before on the water divination and keep on looking at the changes."

"When the color of water changes to a stronger blue color, then this training too will end too."

Leorio thought for a moment and nodded.

"I understand."

Conrad then smiled.

"By the way, now that you have learned about your category."

"I can say that you are now officially a hunter; you passed the secret exam for the hunters."

"As you know, all hunters need to know 'Nen' to become hunters for real."

Leorio smiled and nodded.

"Thank you again..."

Conrad smiled at him back.

"At this stage, ordinary secret examiners that are given the mission stop the training and go on their way."

"As the training only comes at this stage if the new hunter does not ask for more."

"I suppose you want to learn more?"

Leorio nodded.

"Of course."

"Why I would not want to learn more..."

"Now that you spoke about my category and what I can do with it..."

"I am having some ideas."

Conrad smiled.

"It is great to have ideas, but you still need at least three months of more training in your basics and some advanced nen user application to create a nen ability."

"Believe me." Conrad's voice turned serious and his eyes changed.

Leorio felt the change in an instant.

"He was calm just right now..."

"But when he gets serious, his demeanor, actions, and all the atmosphere about him change."

"Now that I am a new user, I can tell..."

"This man is some sort of a monster and too powerful, most likely," Leorio thought.

Conrad then kept on speaking.

"If you do not train your basics, stop training your physical capability by muscle training and learn some sort of a fighting style."

"You will most likely fall beneath the ones that do that."

"A big mistake a new nen user can make is getting high off the nen and thinking they are too strong and creating a nen ability without improving their basics first and having more knowledge of nen."

"Those are easily hunted by the nen masters."

Leorio listened to every word Conrad said and took it to his heart.

He knew that Conrad was serious and this matter was not a joke at all.
