Three days later.

The sun had not yet finished rising over the eastern horizon, but the Sunagakure team was already on the move.

Following their recent victories and the fall of Fuguki Suikazan, the atmosphere within the group was charged with an electric confidence.

Daigo led the way; as always, his Seismic Sense served as the group's radar.

"If we manage to crush this last camp, Kirigakure will have no choice but to retreat back to the sea," Daigo commented, glancing at Pakura and Sasori.

"We've destroyed their supply lines and their main bases. They're against the ropes," Shizuka added.

The group nodded, knowing that ending the war against Kirigakure was within their grasp if this final assault succeeded.

They moved with speed, crossing into territory controlled by the Mist. As they neared the objective, the weather began to shift. A thick, almost solid fog started to descend upon them.

"This mist is much stronger," Baki muttered, adjusting his face protector. "It's too dense, even by Kirigakure's standards."

Daigo tried closing his eyes to focus his Seismic Sense, but he let out a frustrated grunt. "It's loaded with chakra. It's like trying to see through static. The ground feels blurry; the humidity is absorbing the vibrations. I can't pinpoint how many are inside."

Despite the uncertainty, they decided to press on. The success of their previous missions pushed them forward. They entered the perimeter of the camp.

The first thing they noticed was the silence. No patrols, no lit torches, no sound of clashing metal or ninjas preparing. It was a ghost camp, and their internal alarms began to blare.

"It's too quiet," Yashamaru said, dropping into a fighting stance. "Even if they were expecting us, there should be some trace of life."

"I agree. Stay on guard," Pakura said, ensuring everyone was ready.

"Can you feel anything, Shizuka?" Daigo asked.

"There's no one here. It's completely abandoned. Do you feel anyone?" Shizuka responded, using her Whisper Release to scan the area.

"I don't feel a thing either. Let's investigate."

They walked toward the center of the hangars, where shadows loomed like stone giants.

Suddenly, a metallic sound sharp, almost musical tinkling echoed from above.

Everyone looked up toward the roof of one of the main hangars.

There they were. Six silhouettes silhouetted against the grayish dawn sky. Each one held a grotesque, legendary weapon.

The combined presence of all six generated a killing intent so heavy it sent a shiver down everyone's spine.

"It's a trap..." Pakura whispered, recognizing the weapons instantly. "It's them. All of them."

"Well, well... so this is the brat who killed Fuguki," a sadistic voice called out from above. It was Kushimaru Kuriarare.

"I didn't expect to see the six of you gathered here. It seems you actually did care for your former comrade Fuguki," Daigo said, scanning them all, though his eyes locked onto Mangetsu feeling his presence.

"Hahahaha! Did you hear what the brat said, Mangetsu? That we actually miss that whale!" Jinpachi laughed mockingly.

Mangetsu didn't laugh. He looked at Daigo, searching for the Samehada and not finding it.

"Where is the blade, Daigo? Perhaps if you hand it over, we might let your comrades go," Mangetsu said, attempting to get it the easy way.

"Mangetsu, we all know none of us leave here alive even if I give you Samehada," Daigo replied, calculating his odds against the other Swordsmen.

"Seems the boy isn't as stupid as I thought. Mangetsu, let's stop the talking and start," Jūzō told Mangetsu, who seemed to ignore him.

"You look confident, Daigo. Why is that?" Mangetsu asked.

"Confident? Actually, I'm interested in this fight. I thought there would be one of you, not all six. So, I'll have to fight because I won't die that easily," Daigo said, kicking off his ninja sandals.

Pakura, observing the situation, knew this wouldn't end well. She gave a signal to Baki, Shizuka, and Yashamaru.

They nodded, understanding her immediately. The Swordsmen noticed the gesture but did nothing, everyone waiting for the first move.

The silence of the area was absolute; leaves fell in total stillness as even the wind decided it wasn't the time to pass through.

"Then... shall we dance?"

Daigo spoke as he blurred through hand signs and slammed his palms against the ground.

"Shōton: Kesshō no Tōge (Crystal Style: Terrestrial Spikes)!"

Massive crystal spikes erupted toward the Swordsmen, who reacted instantly, leaping out of the way. Only Jinpachi remained, using his sword to create a massive explosion that shattered every spike heading his way.

As the jutsu forced the Swordsmen to move, Yashamaru, Baki, and Shizuka turned and bolted away.

That was Pakura's signal: start the fight, run without looking back, and find reinforcements. The three used their maximum speed to escape.

Pakura prepared herself, manifesting five scorching orbs of heat around her as she faced her opponent, who arrived in the form of two surging currents of lightning.

Sasori, inside Hiruko, leapt away from Daigo knowing that when Daigo fought, he didn't care about his surroundings.

In the middle of the move he had to dodge a heavy blow aimed at him. His scorpion tail blocked an incoming axe, but he was surprised when a hammer struck the back of the axe, cracking Hiruko's scorpion tail.

Hiruko's mouth flew open, launching a barrage of poisoned senbon at Jinin, who blocked them effortlessly. "Heh, not bad for a puppeteer. I thought destroying that puppet would be easier. I wonder where you're hiding now, you little cockroach," Jinin said, scanning the area for traces of chakra.

Sasori said nothing. He readied his fingers, moving rapidly to launch another barrage at Jinin.

Meanwhile, the three who had escaped were forced to stop when a giant blade came flying toward them. Dodging quickly, they realized they had no choice but to fight and find a way to break through.

Holding the blade was Jūzō, alongside Kushimaru and Jinpachi, the latter looking annoyed to be working with the other two.

"Seems you've finally stopped. Let's make this easy and end the fight," Jūzō said, eyeing the three of them.

"I'm sorry, but that won't happen. We'll have to fight," Yashamaru said, controlling green threads from his fingers.

Baki, seeing no point in talking, charged his blade with wind chakra and lunged at Jūzō.

Despite his youth, Baki's talent put him at a high level; though a Chunin, he could hold his own against a Jōnin.

His wind-imbued sword hissed through the air, trying to find a gap in Jūzō's guard.

However, Jūzō handled the Kubikiribōchō with terrifying agility; the massive blade seemed weightless in his hands, used as both shield and guillotine.

"Good form, kid!" Jūzō shouted, blocking Baki's thrust with the spine of his sword.

"But you aren't fighting a rookie!"

With a powerful swing, Jūzō forced Baki back.

Baki felt the air pressure displaced by the great sword; if that hit landed, no armor could save him. Dodging more attacks and retreating, Baki's only thought was to avoid being sliced in half.

A few meters away, Shizuka was caught in a game of predator and prey against Jinpachi.

Using the Shibuki, Jinpachi launched explosive slashes that Shizuka barely managed to counter or evade using her Whisper Release. With wind chakra in her feet, she moved in rapid bursts, far faster than Jinpachi.

"Run, little mouse! Let's see if you can dodge this explosion!" Jinpachi cackled manically, unfurling the scroll of his sword.

Striking the ground hard, a blast of explosions roared toward Shizuka. She skidded to a halt and wove hand signs to create a gust of wind, pushing the explosive tags away.

He's too strong, Shizuka thought, her face drenched in sweat and her heart racing. Yet, instead of discouraging her, it made her feel that her training hadn't been in vain if she was able to face a ninja like Jinpachi.

Using the trees as distraction and cover from the blasts, she used Whisper Release to launch invisible cuts in his direction.

Jinpachi felt nothing at first until a line of blood appeared on his toughened skin.

Feeling more cuts across his body, he went on the defensive, narrowly dodging a strike he barely sensed before it could maim him.

"Annoying... so you use that bloodline. I've heard enough about the Kaguyas. Dangerous girl... now stop running and die!"

Jinpachi roared, creating an even larger explosion that leveled the surrounding trees.

Yashamaru, for his part, was showing exactly why he was a Jōnin. His fingers moved with lethal grace, controlling chakra threads that glowed with an emerald green hue. He was facing Kushimaru Kuriarare, who was attempting to impale him with the Nuibari.

The "Sewing Needle" flew through the air. Kushimaru was a long, sinister shadow, moving through the forest with inhuman skill.

Yashamaru had to use his threads to create a defensive net, intercepting the metallic cable of the needle just before it could coil around his neck.

"You move well for a ninja of the sand," Kushimaru hissed through his porcelain mask. "Though my threads are stronger. You'll have to try harder."

Yashamaru didn't respond, using his fingers to weave around the threads appearing out of nowhere while he counter-attacked.

This was a battle where the winner would be whoever trapped the other first, and Yashamaru refused to lose. Infusing more wind chakra into his threads, he managed to slice through the trap Kushimaru had set.

However, a cut on his arm reminded him that he couldn't afford to be overconfident. The wound vanished almost instantly as he place his Hand on his shoulder and green medical aura appeared, healing him.

This infuriated Kushimaru, realizing that mere scratches wouldn't be enough to put him down.

Yashamaru landed beside his comrades, noting their condition. "You two don't look like you're having a good time," he said.

"This isn't the time for jokes! This guy is insane with these explosions!" Shizuka yelled.

"We'll have to work as a team. I can't defeat him alone either," Baki said, sweating.

Jinpachi didn't waste a second while they were bunched up. The Shibuki struck the earth with a deafening roar, sending a wave of explosions their way. Yashamaru reacted instantly, moving his fingers in a complex pattern; his chakra threads tightened, forming a protective barrier that shielded the younger ninjas from the direct impact.

"Go, now!" Yashamaru commanded, using his threads to whip Baki forward with increased velocity toward the Jōnin.

Baki, fueled by Yashamaru's momentum, shot forward like a projectile toward Jūzō, spinning in the air and cloaking his sword in a wind jutsu.

Jūzō let out a raspy laugh and raised the Kubikiribōchō to block. The clash of metal was brutal. The pressure of Baki's wind was so great that the ground beneath Jūzō's feet cracked, but the Swordsman didn't budge an inch.

With a sharp movement, Jūzō pivoted his blade, using Baki's own momentum to hurl him toward the wires Kushimaru was already weaving in the air.

Shizuka moving like a ghost through the chaos. Her hands blurred through signs, releasing bursts of Whisper Release.

Kushimaru, who was waiting to finish off the airborne Baki, was forced to move as he felt a sudden cut across his arm. He looked toward Shizuka, who was already cutting through his wire traps with more invisible strikes, saving Baki from a horrific death.

"You damn rat!" Kushimaru hissed, launching his needle toward Shizuka's position, clearly fed up with dealing with attacks he couldn't see.

The needle pierced a tree trunk right next to her head, and the steel cable snapped taut.

Kushimaru wasn't trying to impale her he was trying to cage her. The metallic threads began to encircle the combat zone.

Yashamaru intervened immediately Hhis green threads clashed against Kushimaru's, sending sparks flying. With his other hand, he launched a barrage of kunai imbued with wind chakra, forcing the Swordsman to break off his attack.

Suddenly, Jinpachi caught Baki by surprise, landing a heavy blow that sent him crashing into a tree. The others rushed to help him, but a Water Dragon jutsu blocked their path, surging toward them. Using a Substitution, they barely escaped.

Baki, recovering in mid-air, managed to block a killing stroke from Jinpachi, though the Swordsman smiled as he triggered a powerful explosion Baki couldn't block.

As the smoke cleared, Baki emerged with his upper clothes shredded and his body covered in blood, backing away while gasping for air, knowing he had survived by pure luck.

Yashamaru created two clones, sending them to distract the Swordsmen while he moved to heal Baki's wounds.

Jinpachi, refusing to let them recover, attacked again only for a deep, invisible cut to strike him across the back, sending a spray of blood onto the ground.

Feeling the wind slash this time, he groaned in pain, glaring furiously at Shizuka as blood continued to stain his back

Jūzō and Kushimaru moved to strike back, but a massive earthquake made them stop in their tracks. They turned to look back toward the other battles.
