Chapter 2 - Prologue (2)

"We're here! What do you think, Denji?"

It was a small house with a large backyard. In my opinion, it was great.

"It's cool, Mom!"

"Yay! I knew you would love it!"

Not only that, it was quite close to the beach as well. I could hang out there during my spare time.

"Help me unload our stuff, will you?"

"Okay."

The interior was pretty nice. Two bedrooms upstairs, a single bathroom, a comfortable living room, and a kitchen.

The new house was off to a great start.

"Denji, how about we start with your room first?"

It was a small room, but I could already see the vision of what I'd put here and there. Not only that, my window perfectly captured the serene view of the beach.

"It's nice, right? You can put your figurines here, and oh—you can even set up your computer!"

"It's nice, Mom."

"Well, I'll leave you to unpack while I clean up downstairs a bit."

With my mom gone, I sat on the bed. I only needed a few decorations, and I'd be set.

I brought some figurines with me—mostly All Might figures. I never really liked playing with toys; I just picked All Might since he was popular.

I made up my bed, then hung up a few hero posters.

It didn't even take thirty minutes to finish setting everything up. Man, I really am a minimalist.

Afterward, I headed downstairs.

"Did you finish setting up your room, Denji?"

"I did."

My mother was hanging pictures on the wall.

"Oh, I forgot to tell you." Mika turned around with an excited smile. "You'll be going to school!"

The news shocked me.

"Really?!"

Back in the countryside, there were only a few kids—five at most. Most of them were people I had to stay away from, and they stayed away from me too.

I'd been homeschooled throughout preschool. Now I'd finally get a chance to attend an actual school? I used to hate school in my old life, but after reincarnating here, I wanted to meet kids my age—and maybe even practice my quirk.

"Well, it's actually a quirk-specialized school. It's not like other schools, Denji, but it'll help you train and control your quirk. And you'll meet other kids your age!"

That was even better.

"Whoa, really? Yay!"

With a controlled environment, I wouldn't have to worry about accidentally killing someone. Maybe I'd finally get the hang of my quirk, too.

"I'm glad you're excited!"

Dinner was lighthearted. Afterward, I went to bed.

I only had three days until Monday. That meant I was really going to school. I wondered what my classmates' quirks would be like.

I drifted off to sleep almost immediately.

Before I realized it, three days had passed, and it was finally time to head to school.

"I packed everything you need."

"Thanks, Mom."

The house had started to feel livelier with all the decorations.

After double-checking everything, my mother drove me to school.

From the outside, it looked like a normal house.

My mother rang the bell, and after a few seconds, the door opened to reveal a woman in her late forties.

"Oh, hello, Mrs. Hayakawa. And this must be Denji! Welcome—please, come in."

As we stepped inside, it really did feel like a home.

"Some of the kids have already arrived. They're in the living room."

When we entered, there were three kids present—one girl and two boys.

"Everyone, come here and introduce yourselves to your new classmate."

The three children stood up and bowed before introducing themselves.

The first had spiky red hair and a confident smile. "Name's Kento! Nice to meet you!"

The timid girl with white hair smiled shyly. "I'm Ayami. Nice to meet you."

Lastly, the boy with the same hair color as the girl spoke quietly. "Akari. Nice to meet you."

They all glanced at me.

"Oh—hello. I'm Denji. It's nice to meet you."

My mother, Mika, smiled in delight.

"I'll be your caretaker here, Denji. My name is Shiori."

"Nice to meet you, ma'am."

My mother and Ms. Shiori stepped away, seemingly discussing something important, as I shifted my gaze back to the three kids.
