A voice slipped out of him without thinking.
"Huh? Um, I'd like to register as an adventurer."
As the child looked at him as if asking why, he instead found himself wondering why not.
"Are you really sure about this?"
Without meaning to, he asked again, adding that if the child wanted to reconsider, now would be the time.
He didn't know what circumstances had led the child to want to become an adventurer, but with that appearance, there were surely other jobs available.
However, his concern was in vain.
The child insisted that he wanted to become an adventurer and so the procedures began.
He handed over the required documents, along with the guild card, and the child looked slightly puzzled.
He wondered if the child was hesitant about drawing blood, but without much delay, the child pricked his finger with the needle that had been handed to him.
The flowing blood touched the card and a name surfaced.
