"The one that attacked your hometown was a terrorist organization born during World War II, because your mother possessed a special ability—much like how I make deep-fried chicken rolls."

Fini explained.

"Wait, you're saying my mother was like you? She could cook like that too?"

"I said like!" Fini glared fiercely at Skye for interrupting him and continued: "Your mother seemed to have a unique kind of healing ability, even allowing her to have a very long lifespan. That's why they targeted her."

Skye shrunk back a bit. Hearing this, she couldn't help but ask worriedly, "Then how is she now?"

"Not very good!" Fini sighed in his heart and went on: "She suffered a great deal of torture, and her personality has become extremely radical. But they are actually both still looking for you."

"You mean my parents have been looking for me all this time!?"

Skye stood up excitedly. It wasn't that she had never felt resentment in her heart toward her parents for abandoning her, but now that she knew the truth, her first reaction was joy and an expectant longing for a reunion.

"Calm down first!"

Seeing Skye's excited state, Fini frowned and said in a heavy voice, "I told you before, their situation isn't as good as you imagine."

"But they didn't give up on me, did they?"

Skye looked at Fini with a pleading expression. "Fini, help me. Help me find them, okay?"

"Listen to me first!"

Fini felt a bit troubled. Skye's parents were essentially two complete lunatics; her father was slightly better, but her mother was almost entirely gone.

"After your mother was taken back then, she suffered inhumane abuse."

Fini hadn't intended to say this, but he realized that if he didn't explain clearly, there would be no way to justify things. He could only say slowly, "Her organs were replaced throughout her body, and she was later discarded, only to be sewn back together piece by piece by your father. To heal her, he even did some not-so-good things."

"And because they lost you, both of their mental states suffered a massive blow and became abnormal. Even if you find them now, the result might not be what you imagine."

"Doesn't that mean we should find them even more, to help them return to normal!?"

Hearing how tragic her parents' lives were, Skye clenched her fists, her heart filled with equal pain.

"Then how are you going to help them return to normal?" Fini looked at Skye and asked in a deep voice, "What if your mother intends to make an enemy of the entire human race?"

"What if she would even sacrifice you for that goal!?"

Faced with Fini's questioning, Skye couldn't answer. The pain in her eyes grew deeper and deeper; however much she used to hate her parents for abandoning her, she now felt just as much guilt over it.

"Furthermore, I don't know their location."

Fini sighed and said, "Skye, I really want to help you, but this matter can't be rushed. I'm telling you this because I don't want you to continue suffering, and also because this matter involves two exceptionally massive organizations."

In reality, the reason Skye was initially sent to orphanages was due to two S.H.I.E.L.D. agents. They had even tried to prevent it when Skye was being adopted by his parents.

But Skye was someone he had brought in using 'Gashadokuro' (Golden Dawn/Ars Magna), and it was done with the help of the Ancient One. How could two agents possibly block that? So, they ultimately failed, and the two eventually faded away.

Skye finally remembered there was a cause behind all this and immediately asked hatefully, "Who are they?"

"You must promise not to alert them right now!"

Fini looked at Skye, worried she wouldn't listen to his advice and would act secretly. He continued, "I know you have a high level of skill with computers, but no matter how strong you are, can you beat someone who lives inside a computer?"

"In their organization, there is someone who migrated their consciousness into a computer. So, do not attempt to use your technology to investigate them."

"How could such a thing be possible!?"

Hearing Fini's words, Skye found it hard to believe.

"You've even seen magic; is it really worth being surprised that the world is a bit weirder than that?" Fini countered.

Skye fell silent. If it were before, she certainly wouldn't have believed Fini saying such things, but after so many events, she had no choice but to believe that such things existed.

"Then... am I just supposed to ignore them like this?"

Skye's eyes were filled with tears, her tearful appearance looking particularly pitiful.

"You don't need to be so worried." Fini took a tissue from the bedside and gently wiped Skye's tears, comforting her: "They are both doing alright for now. Your father seems to be working as a doctor, planning his revenge, and your mother is leading an organization, preparing a grand plan to destroy humanity."

Skye looked at Fini speechlessly. Was there something wrong with her understanding? You call this state "alright"!?

Seeming to see the meaning in Skye's gaze, Fini hurried to explain, "I mean their living status. They both have things to do now; they're quite occupied."

"Why does my mother want to destroy humanity?"

Skye asked worriedly.

"She considers herself an Inhuman, a race distinct from humans. And having suffered that abuse, her mind is no longer normal." Fini looked at Skye and decided to explain everything at once: "Actually, you guys just have a little bit of alien gene in your bodies!"

"You're saying I have it too!?"

Skye was stunned. She hadn't expected to be suddenly pronounced a non-earthling just like that.

"Probably just a little bit!"

Fini nodded, using his thumb and index finger to pinch a tiny gap to demonstrate.

"Impossible. I've had physical exams; how could I be an alien!" Skye didn't believe it for a second. It wasn't like she hadn't been sick growing up; she'd been to hospitals, and the checks were always normal.

"Things at the genetic level—can ordinary hospitals detect those!?"

Looking at Skye's intense emotional reaction, he wondered if he had spoken too early. The whole "alien" thing didn't seem that easy to accept just yet.

Skye stood dazed and speechless; the blow was a bit heavy for a moment.

"Don't worry too much. It actually doesn't affect much; it just gives you some superpowers." Fini quickly comforted her: "It won't make you turn green, spit silk, or become hulking and muscular."

When he said it that way, Skye became even more afraid. Her body trembled slightly as she asked, "Fini, don't tease me. Is this true?"

"Listen to me!"

Fini pressed his hands on Skye's shoulders and stared into her eyes seriously. "Don't worry about this. After all, it's not like you had a choice in the matter. And believe me, it's no big deal."

Hearing this, Skye felt a bit better. She hadn't expected the so-called truth to be like this. Life was far more ridiculous than she had imagined.

"Is there no way to change her?"

Skye temporarily put aside the gene issue; she was most concerned about her parents, especially her radical mother.

"At least for now, I don't have a solution." Fini shook his head, then hesitated before saying, "However, if you don't mind, we can try a method in the future to modify her personality."

"Something like that can be done too?"

Skye was surprised again, but immediately she naturally nodded, as if she had figured it out. "Forget it. No matter what happens in this world, I feel like I won't be surprised anymore!"

"Is there any danger to this method?" Skye continued to ask.

"There shouldn't be!"

Fini was thinking about the uses of the Scepter; he just didn't know if the brainwashing effect was permanent. If it was only temporary, he might have to find another way.
